Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery offers a flexible service to parents with day care, a breakfast, an after-school and holiday club. It also offers two hour sessions and a playgroup.

The nursery's stimulating environment and its wide range of activities ensures that children are motivated and eager to join in.

High standards of care and hygiene practice support the personal care needs of the children. The staff are skilled and sensitive in helping children of all ages form secure emotional attachments giving children confidence in their own abilities.

All children have a key person which ensures that they are all emotionally well prepared for the next stages in their learning.
Staff support children’s transitions both within the setting and prepare them for when they move to school.

This is a lovely nursery with friendly and attentive staff who I know will care for and meet the needs of my child. My child informs me, with lots of stories of how he has enjoyed his days at ‘school’ and he has grown in confidence thanks to the support of the brilliant staff at Nunthorpe Children's
Day Nursery. I’m regularly updated through Tapestry which is nice, especially during a pandemic where a lot has changed. I can see from the photos on Tapestry that the nursery is a clean, spacious learning environment where there are lots of engaging activities for my child to immerse himself and interact with other children which helps with his communication skills.

All the staff at Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery are very caring and lovely. My daughter has been coming for the past 2 years and she absolutely loves it. She struggled at the beginning leaving us in the mornings however the staff were amazing with settling her which was a huge peace of mind for us
all. There’s always lots of different activities to do and she loves telling us all about her day.
There’s weekly emails with updates and ideas for activities we can do on the weekends and I’m always kept up to date with my daughter's progress and learning.

The staff are wonderful and very friendly. My son is nervous to go in sometimes and they deal with it very well and make him feel safe. They are very accommodating and informative. I love the use of the parents' app with individual photos and comments.

I have 2 children who attended Nunthorpe Nursery, my eldest started over 8 years ago. I found Nunthorpe Nursery a very friendly, happy place to look after my 2 boys. They have both enjoyed going there, firstly starting in the baby rooms and then all the way up to the breakfast/after-school and holiday
clubs, and especially helping the manager in the office, and I have never had any problems with them going to any of the rooms they have been in. They did particularly enjoy the holiday clubs as they loved going out exploring and building dens.
I want to say a big thank you to all the staff at Nunthorpe Nursery for all their care and help and nurturing of my 2 boys over the last few years.

We started to use Nunthorpe Nursery only a few months ago. We can honestly say we would definitely recommend. My son doesn’t like saying his goodbyes on a morning. Staff are very understanding with this, they are quick thinking of a way to get him in. He sure does thoroughly enjoy his time at nursery
making lots of friends, going on trips to the woods, making lots of pictures for his family, which we love to have a display of his artwork at home. He comes home full of smiles asking when is he going back. This makes us happy knowing he’s had a great time. All staff are very friendly and quick to respond with any questions you may have. An all-round nursery right on your doorstep.

My second child is at the end of his time at Nunthorpe Day Nursery and I can honestly say I could not have wished for a better place for him. My child has SEN which became apparent throughout his time there. The staff were so professional and tactful in raising their concerns, and they played a pertinent
part in getting him the additional support he needed going forward. I could not be more grateful for the support they have not only shown my child, but also the support they have given myself and my family. We have had a difficult journey in my child's early years but we have been comforted by how much this nursery and its staff understand his individual quirks and their desire to get the best from him.

My daughter has been at Nunthorpe for the past 18 months and has never been happier. She has made lots of friends and has come on leaps and bounds in terms of her educational steps and social skills. The management and staff really care about the kids and you can see this with how they interact and
talk about the children. Each child is allocated a mentor who documents their progress and is always available to help should you have any queries or questions.
The stay and play evenings have been invaluable and give a real insight as to how the children interact at nursery.

Both my children have attended this nursery and my youngest (3-year-old daughter) is there currently. The staff are all friendly and very helpful with any questions I may have. They even looked after me a few times when I struggled leaving my little boy for the first few times. They are exceptional
with the children in their care. My 3-year-old daughter loves to tell us all about her time at nursery when she gets home and the new friends she has made. There is plenty of things for the children to do they are spoilt for choice. Health and safety is on point with all the activities they do. I would definitely recommend this nursery to anyone needing their child to be looked after in a friendly, clean and safe environment.

A wonderful place, wonderful setting and wonderful people.
Our youngest attends full time and our eldest goes for the holiday club.
Both always come home tired and full of stories from their busy day!
The staff always have a smile and time for you and there is always a warm welcoming, safe atmosphere.
The boys love when they go out on a day trip as well because it means they need their wellies.
The weekly menus are awesome and well planned, we know they are getting good nutritional cooked meals.
They have a safe, well equipped outside area where the children love to explore.
I feel that the children are extremely well cared for as a group and one to one as well.
Very highly recommended this nursery!

The staff are all so friendly and passionate about their job. They take the time to get to know the kids and any particular additional needs they have. The kids always have a great day and love to talk about all the things that they have done. I love that I can keep up to date during the day with what
they have done and seeing pictures but also that we can share pictures with what we have done as well. The additional resources we can take home and use are fab.

Our son has attended Nunthorpe nursery for 2 years since he was 9 months old. The staff are great and it feels like home from home. We know he gets the best care and also has lots of fun, and he has built up some great relationships with his key carers. A big plus for us is also the flexibility Nunthorpe
nursery offers - we provide our dates month on month and have never had any problems booking in the dates we need - which we know you don’t get from other local nurseries.

Love this nursery! Both of my children have attended here and both have adored it! The staff are amazing, professional, friendly and welcoming and helped both my children settle in really well. My son has attended the nursery for a year and he absolutely loves it. He is autistic and the team of staff are fantastic with him especially his key worker, they always go above and beyond to ensure my son receives the best care and that his needs are met.
I can't thank the staff enough for the support
they have given both my son and myself. An amazing nursery and would highly recommend to anyone looking for childcare.

My daughter attended the nursery in October and in December through the school term holidays as the nursery runs a Holiday Club which is ideal for me as a full-time worker. My daughter enjoyed her time, she loved the food and entertainment she had throughout the week. Will be booking her again for summer

Absolutely fantastic nursery with brilliant staff. My son has been attending the nursery now for several months and he thoroughly enjoys it. The team are friendly, reassuring, supportive and approachable. The activities provided are excellent with many being tailored to assist my son’s development.

Both of my children have attended Nunthorpe Day Nursery this summer and both thoroughly enjoyed their time here. My two year old boy settled in well and enjoyed telling me about the activities he had been busy with. His favourite thing to do was play outside.
My five year old girl attended holiday
club and kept asking to go back! She particularly talks about certain staff members with fondness. We live out of the country and we’re only home for the summer and all staff made the children feel welcome.

Job Title: Manager Joined: 1990

Hello, I'm Katie.
I have an NNEB and foundation degree in Early years childhood studies and have worked in childcare for 32 years here at Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery. I started out as an Early year's educator, working my way up to deputy manager and now proud to be manager. I take great pride in my nursery and love to welcome new and returning families. We have a fantastic fun and safe environment. I have lots of experience with Sen and higher needs children and enjoy working with families to provide the best possible care and education for them. I believe having a strong team helps children achieve their individual learning goals by working together and working alongside parents and families collectively.
I look forward to welcoming you to our nursery.
