My daughter has been attending Nunthorpe Nurseries since she was 11 months old. She is now 3 years old. She’s gone from a baby to an independent young girl. She has learnt so much since attending, and she continues to grow after each day. I am so grateful for every single staff member who has cared
for and continues to care for and teach her. She will be leaving in September to start school nursery, but being here has taught her so many wonderful things which she will take to her new school. The nursery is very accommodating, and she really enjoys each time she is there. I will certainly recommend Nunthorpe Nurseries to anyone who is looking to put her child into a nursery. They have been absolutely amazing from the very start.
She will certainly miss everyone when she goes over to school nursery, and so will I. We have both made friendships and relationships with many of the staff and children.
Forever grateful to the manager and the girls who work so hard at their jobs.

What can I say about this nursery, both of my girls go here and love it. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble, my youngest has only been there since January and she loves it. She has come on so much. I love getting the little updates of what they have been doing throughout the day.
I can't recommend this nursery enough.

My child has just turned 3 and she has been at this nursery since she was 9 months old. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff that work there. Everyone goes above and beyond to ensure my daughter is happy and safe. She has come along so much and learns so much each day. But most of all, she has
lots of fun, there is a wide range of activities, learning and play at the nursery and the facilities are great. I also feel she eats well there and has a well-balanced diet. It can still be difficult leaving her in the mornings, but I always go away confident that she is in good hands. Well done to all the staff!

My son started in September 2023. He was shy and always upset when getting dropped off. All the staff there were very supportive of him during this time and has helped him to grow. Marie has been especially great with him as his key worker and has gone out of her way to get him dinosaur toys for the
nursery. Since starting he's gone from barely speaking to being a little chatterbox. All the staff are amazing and the nursery itself is great with lots of space inside and out!

My child has been attending Nunthorpe Nursery since August 2023. I was very hesitant to put my child in a nursery but had to due to studying and working. When we viewed the nursery it immediately felt homely and welcoming. The staff are amazing, especially three members of staff in the baby room. My
daughter came home one day doing an action with her hands when saying more, I later learnt that the children learn Makaton at nursery and my child now signs a few words and we are practising at home too. They’ve also helped her learn to use cutlery (still learning at home) and sit at a table and chairs to eat. My child constantly comes home exhausted because she had had a busy day doing sensory play, or a walk around the local area, she loves it! Very grateful to have these amazing nursery teachers caring for my child. The app is an amazing resource for the parents too as you get updates on what your children are doing.

My son and daughter attend this nursery and both have made great strides in their confidence and skills due to the excellent staff over the years at the Nunthorpe site. My children love going to nursery and, as a parent, it puts me at ease knowing they are comfortable, happy and developing.
Thank
you to all the staff - I highly recommend Nunthorpe Nursery!

My son has been at this nursery for two years (since he was about 1) and we’ve always been happy with the care he has received. He settled really well, really quickly and always just goes in very happy. I love getting sent photos of what he’s up to and all the fun things he gets to do that we wouldn’t
do at home. He especially loves to go outside and use the play equipment. I’d gladly recommend the nursery to others looking for childcare.

I was really nervous about my little boy settling in as he had only ever been left with family and was 9 months old. After our first settling-in session, I just knew that he would be so taken care of and happy there. The staff are super friendly and greet him with a great big smile every morning. They
helped us settle him in and sent us updates all the time. This made it easier not just for him but also for me. So happy we picked this nursery.

My daughter was hesitant to start nursery having been with a childminder leading up to going. The staff have been amazing in helping her settle in and she now comes home and can’t stop talking about all her new friends and what she has been doing each day. It’s lovely to see her happy to go in each
morning and I know she’s in safe, capable hands. I would highly recommend Nunthorpe Day Nursery.

Both of my daughters have attended this nursery, and my 2-year-old is still enrolled there. The nurses have been fantastic, they've played a crucial role in the development of both of my girls. Not only that, they actually look forward to going each day.

My daughter struggled with drop-offs when she started nursery for a couple of half days at 1 year old, as had only ever been separated from parents when spending time with grandparents for a couple of hours. It took a little while, but the kind staff made her feel safe and now they are her 'people'
too and she happily gets in the car on a morning to go to nursery. She usually comes home filthy and loves all the messy play with paints, water and sand. The food is healthy and she eats well. She loves the interaction with all the other kiddies, her little 'friends'. Always coming home tired for a good nap in the afternoon.

My son, daughter and both nieces go to this nursery and we wouldn’t go anywhere else. All the staff are so friendly. My son took a while settling in as he was born during Covid but all the staff have been so wonderful and have really helped him develop his confidence. He looks forward to going every
morning and I feel like every day he is learning and developing in a new way. Thanks so much and we are very lucky to have had this nursery for our children.

Fantastic nursery! My little girl started around 9 months ago now and I couldn’t place any faults. She was introduced into the Tweenies room and settled in instantly with such ease. All the staff have been so accommodating in all aspects, from keeping me updated with how she gets on daily to her overall
progress, helping with referrals and re-arranging sessions if need be.
Nunthorpe really is an amazing nursery and my little one has come on leaps since attending. They do a great range of different activities every day, we’ve found our toddler loves it here so much that we’ve been gradually increasing her days at nursery since she started!
I would wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to any parent, I instantly felt at ease! And the nursery story app is an amazing feature to see what the kids are getting up to in their day.

This is a fantastic nursery, my son loves going. All staff are fantastic, couldn’t praise the staff or nursery enough. The food menu is great and had a variety of different meals offered on each day. I always get photos of my child sent to me while he’s at nursery where I can see what he’s been up to,
which is great. Staff are always so helpful and kind. Such an amazing nursery with an amazing team working there!

My son found change and transitioning extremely hard, the staff at Nunthorpe made him feel comfortable and adapted to his needs, he has now been going since April and has settled in amazingly, it is so comforting as a parent to see your child walk in with a smile on his face and know he is going to
be well looked after. From the day visit right away I knew the nursery would be perfect for my little boy and he would be happy and safe. I would 100% recommend this nursery to others.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.886)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.886) out of 10 for Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 36 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.886 for Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (383 Excellents x 5) + (47 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 431 Ratings = 4.886
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery is based on 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 number of registered child places is 10.4, which has been reached with 36 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Hello, I'm Katie.
I have an NNEB and foundation degree in Early years childhood studies and have worked in childcare for 32 years here at Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery. I started out as an Early year's educator, working my way up to deputy manager and now proud to be manager. I take great pride in my nursery and love to welcome new and returning families. We have a fantastic fun and safe environment. I have lots of experience with Sen and higher needs children and enjoy working with families to provide the best possible care and education for them. I believe having a strong team helps children achieve their individual learning goals by working together and working alongside parents and families collectively.
I look forward to welcoming you to our nursery.
