Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery offers a flexible service to parents with day care, a breakfast, an after-school and holiday club. It also offers two hour sessions and a playgroup.

The nursery's stimulating environment and its wide range of activities ensures that children are motivated and eager to join in.

High standards of care and hygiene practice support the personal care needs of the children. The staff are skilled and sensitive in helping children of all ages form secure emotional attachments giving children confidence in their own abilities.

All children have a key person which ensures that they are all emotionally well prepared for the next stages in their learning.
Staff support children’s transitions both within the setting and prepare them for when they move to school.

Very friendly staff who know exactly what they are doing. They went above and beyond to ensure my son settled in and dealt with him calmly and patiently. Great communication and great daily activities.

Both of my children started Nunthorpe Nursery in September 2024 and have settled in amazingly. The staff are caring and supportive and always on hand to answer any queries or concerns I have. The staff in my son's room (tweenies) have been fantastic at supporting his speech development and putting my
mind at rest with my never-ending questions! Both of my children are excited and happy to attend nursery and always have a fantastic time! I couldn't rate this nursery high enough, 100% would recommend it!

Our son has been at this nursery for around 9 months now and they have been so good with him, he has really learned a lot of valuable things for his development and they take great care of him. The staff are really informative each day about how he has done and how he has been interacting. We receive
plenty of updates and photos too so its been a great experience for him and us and we would recommend the nursery to anyone.

My grandson has lived with me since March 2023, and he has attended the nursery ever since, I chose this nursery because of its excellent reputation.
I have three older grandchildren who attended the nursery from Dec 2007 through to August 2010.
One of the most outstanding and comforting things was
that the same manageress and deputy manageress are still in the same posts now, which I think speaks volumes.
I will be keeping my grandson at Nunthorpe Nursery until he is at an age for full-time school.

My little boy started this nursery two days a week to get him used to spending time with other children. He absolutely loves going, looks forward to it each morning he is there. The staff are all so attentive and pleasant, my little boy has come on leaps and bounds. I would highly recommend to other
parents looking for a nursery for their children.

Great nursery, staff really friendly and our son loves going. Lots of activities, fun and he's always well fed. He's been going for a year now and the staff are really supportive, they give help and guidance with any issues that crop up (terrible twos!) and know their stuff.

My child started Nunthorpe Nursery in January 2024 aged 10 months and she is settling in great. We have tears initially on hand over but she soon settles down and seems really comfortable and happy with the staff. The staff have always been really welcoming and comforting to her and on pick up she always
looks happy. They are also very informative and she also eats well which I see as a good sign too.
My older daughter also attended Nunthorpe Nursery from age 10 months until she started full-time school and she enjoyed her time there.
I am happy with the care my daughter receives and I would definitely recommend Nunthorpe Nursery!

All the staff are great, a really welcoming place for my little one. My little girl has recently completed potty training and the girls in the ladybird room have all been so patient and helpful. A really lovely nursery all around.

Fantastic nursery, couldn’t rate it highly enough! The staff are very friendly with ourselves and our child. Always attentive and send us frequent photos to show what our child has been learning or doing during the day, putting our minds at ease. Our child has come on leaps and bounds in both behaviour

After an awful experience with another nursery, the most important thing for me was to find a nursery where my daughter was safe, cared for and happy and she is 100% all three of these with Nunthorpe Nursery!
The staff are excellent, very caring and of mixed age/sex which I feel is great for the kids.
I feel my daughter is 100% safe and happy when she’s there. She always comes out smiling and talking about the staff and how much she likes them.
The nursery manager is very helpful and adaptable to our needs on a few occasions when I’ve had to make a last-minute change of date/time etc.
The facilities/outside space isn’t the best I’ve seen but that’s down to location and they’ve made the best of the space they have. The outside space is great for the kids with the little houses and bikes etc.
Would I recommend this nursery! Yes! Don’t think there’s much else that needs to be said. Happy, healthy and thriving daughter, so I’m happy.

My son has made lots of friends there. He is so happy. The staff are so friendly. My husband and I work shifts and the nursery are so flexible with days and are so accommodating for short notice changes. We are so pleased we found Nunthorpe Nursery. We have one very happy 3-year-old. Thank you

My son has attended the day nursery from the age of one year old. Thanks to the amazing manager and staff, he has settled in so well and he is always excited when we arrive at nursery in the morning. He has made fantastic progress in all areas of learning and it is lovely to see the photos on the app.
The activities are excellent and my son has learnt so much during his time there.
The manager and her team are outstanding and we are lucky to have their support, nothing is too much and they are very accommodating.
Keep up the great work everyone and a big thanks for all you do.

My child has settled in so well, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The staff are lovely - he is always telling me about all the things he's done throughout the day. So glad we made the decision for him to attend the nursery.

My daughter goes to this nursery, and she absolutely loves it. She’s made loads of friends, and the staff are great with her. She’s currently potty training, and the staff really help with that. Her speech has come on tremendously since starting too.

A lovely, warm welcoming nursery. I was so nervous about my little boy starting; however, he is doing amazing, and all of my worries have disappeared. The staff are amazing, have great communication and are helpful with forms etc. Would absolutely recommend. Thank you!

My daughter has been attending Nunthorpe Nurseries since she was 11 months old. She is now 3 years old. She’s gone from a baby to an independent young girl. She has learnt so much since attending, and she continues to grow after each day. I am so grateful for every single staff member who has cared
for and continues to care for and teach her. She will be leaving in September to start school nursery, but being here has taught her so many wonderful things which she will take to her new school. The nursery is very accommodating, and she really enjoys each time she is there. I will certainly recommend Nunthorpe Nurseries to anyone who is looking to put her child into a nursery. They have been absolutely amazing from the very start.
She will certainly miss everyone when she goes over to school nursery, and so will I. We have both made friendships and relationships with many of the staff and children.
Forever grateful to the manager and the girls who work so hard at their jobs.

What can I say about this nursery, both of my girls go here and love it. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble, my youngest has only been there since January and she loves it. She has come on so much. I love getting the little updates of what they have been doing throughout the day.
I can't recommend this nursery enough.

My child has just turned 3 and she has been at this nursery since she was 9 months old. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff that work there. Everyone goes above and beyond to ensure my daughter is happy and safe. She has come along so much and learns so much each day. But most of all, she has
lots of fun, there is a wide range of activities, learning and play at the nursery and the facilities are great. I also feel she eats well there and has a well-balanced diet. It can still be difficult leaving her in the mornings, but I always go away confident that she is in good hands. Well done to all the staff!

My son started in September 2023. He was shy and always upset when getting dropped off. All the staff there were very supportive of him during this time and has helped him to grow. Marie has been especially great with him as his key worker and has gone out of her way to get him dinosaur toys for the
nursery. Since starting he's gone from barely speaking to being a little chatterbox. All the staff are amazing and the nursery itself is great with lots of space inside and out!

Hello, I'm Katie.
I have an NNEB and foundation degree in Early years childhood studies and have worked in childcare for 32 years here at Nunthorpe Children's Day Nursery. I started out as an Early year's educator, working my way up to deputy manager and now proud to be manager. I take great pride in my nursery and love to welcome new and returning families. We have a fantastic fun and safe environment. I have lots of experience with Sen and higher needs children and enjoy working with families to provide the best possible care and education for them. I believe having a strong team helps children achieve their individual learning goals by working together and working alongside parents and families collectively.
I look forward to welcoming you to our nursery.
