I love the way all of the staff care for our baby. They're genuinely loving and honest with us. Everything I've asked about has been addressed and I'm so pleased at the way she's settled when I thought she wouldn't! That is thanks to the love they've shown her. They constantly put my mind at rest and nothing seems too much trouble. I like that it is a small nursery but doesn't lack facilities. I like that there are just a few staff that we see all the time. The handovers are informative and precise and all the staff know everything that's she's done. I've never heard 'oh I don't know' when I've asked anything about her day. We LOVE the online learning journal too. The sing and sign is an excellent opportunity for our baby and the home made meals. It isn't a glamorous nursery, but it's very homely and the staff are superb. We're very happy. I recommend this nursery.

Friendly, welcoming with good feedback on child development. Always a nice atmosphere, with pleasant surroundings. Staff team always approachable. Structured activities, regular updates, accessible. Nice garden area to play out in - although a grassy area would be nice. Plenty of indoor activities and occasional trips outside of the nursery are also provided (great for exploring the wider world) - the latter can be more of a challenge to organise, so I am aware that there might be restrictions on how many can be reasonably undertaken, but I do think that they are an important part of child development. It's a great place for my child to be, I have seen him grow in confidence and learning. He has established good relationships with the staff team and has made quite a few good friends amongst his peers along the way as well. We shall all miss the place once he moves onto school in September

My son is coming to the end of his time at Tynemouth Nursery and I will be sad to say goodbye. He has had the best time, and two of the ladies have cared for him since day one, meaning that we had consistency with his carers. I feel happy every day to leave him as I know he is having the best time.

Joanne Gallagher Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2022
Joanne Gallagher

My childcare journey began in 2018 as supply staff, before becoming a full-time practitioner and then a room leader in 2019. In 2022, I joined Tynemouth Nursery Group as Preschool Room Leader, progressing to Deputy Manager in 2023 and now Nursery Manager.

The most rewarding part of my role is seeing children grow in confidence and independence every day. I’m passionate about creating a nurturing environment and supporting families throughout their journey with us.

I recently completed Mental Health First Aid training, recognising its importance for children, staff, and parents alike. Outside of nursery life, I love spending time with my little boy and enjoying weekends with family or at the gym.
