Earlybirds Daycare is a friendly and welcoming day nursery located just off Wakefield Road in Normanton, West Yorkshire.

The team at Earlybirds create a stimulating and nurturing environment to provide all their “Puddle Stompers” with the best possible start during their early years.

Each child has an online learning journal to record and track their ongoing development during their time at Earlybirds. This journal can be accessed by parents and carers at anytime and families can share with their child’s key person “WOW” moments from home.

Earlybirds is situated in the school rooms of Normanton Methodist Church and is separated into 4 different “rooms:”

Baby Room (0-2 years)

Toddler Room (2-3 years)

Pre-School Room (3-5 years)

Out of School and Holiday Club (5-11 years)

Each room has a different topic of interest each month and practitioners create engaging activities to encourage “puddle stompers” to develop and achieve their next steps of learning.

Earlybirds is a private day nursery open 7am to 7pm offering flexible session arrangements for shift workers, term time only bookings as well as consistent weekly sessions. There is also a number of spaces available for funded children, age 2, 3 and 4 years, receiving 15 or 30 hours “FREE” funding per week.

Earlybirds offer the following standard session times:

Full Day: 8:00am – 6:00pm

Morning: 8:00am – 1:00pm

Afternoon: 1:00pm – 6:00pm

Half day sessions do have limited availability, but Earlybirds Daycare would be happy to discuss your specific requirements following a visit.

  • Earlybirds Daycare offers full day and half day sessions with early starts available from 7 am and late finishes until 7pm, ideal for commuters. Please note that half day sessions have very limited availability. The team at Earlybirds Daycare will be happy to discuss current session options with you during your visit.

Such a lovely nursery. The girls in the toddler room were amazing with my little boy. They are a fantastic bunch of ladies and he will certainly miss them.

The staff at Earlybirds are what makes the nursery for me. They all know my daughter's name, regardless of the area they work in. As a first time mum, they were just what I was after, down to earth, reassuring and supportive. If I have an issue or concern, I know I can approach them.
I also love the
fact that the nursery is organised chaos with toys everywhere, this is because the staff are spending time with the children, playing and doing activities. Not tidying up.

My two children have been going to the nursery since April and a lot of times when me and my wife have asked to help on development with my children it has taken telling them a few times to action anything. Communicating between themselves seems to need development so that we don't have to repeat ourselves.

Since my child started to attend this nursery. She has flourished and grown up beyond her age so much. To me, this just shows the effort the workers put in with our children. My child is always so happy, well fed and continually coming home telling and showing us new things she has learnt. The hours
and days fit perfect and easily changeable when needed. So happy my child has become the little human she is now since the very first day entering this nursery!

Earlybirds is a fantastic daycare used by both my daughters aged 8 and 4. Both girls absolutely love coming to the nursery during the school holidays to see their friends and carers, who they have an amazing bond with. Would highly recommend to anyone.

My children love attending in the holiday club. The staff are warm and friendly and are always very welcoming. There is always a wide range of activities for them to do and they regularly go on outings and trips. They really enjoy going and that’s great for me to know they are happy and having fun while

My son has attended EarlyBirds a few months now after moving to the area. He has settled well and the staff have been very helpful in making this transition as easy as possible for us. The staff are friendly and helplful and the environment is always welcoming and set up ready for the children to learn
and play.
The setting has brilliant resources such as a large ICT interactive board, tough trays filled with stimulating sensory objects, large wooden construction blocks, and sand and water trays (some of his favourite activities) along with many more areas.
They also plan lovely trips out with the children. The setting has early and late shifts which work brilliant for working families and was extremely handy for us due to shift work. Since my son has been attending, at home his independence has rocketed, wanting to get himself dressed and preparing his own snack, through skills he has learnt at Earlybirds. He is always happy with the meals provided.
Highly recommend. Preschool review.

Great nursery great daycare workers, they work fantastically with my boy especially after he got diagnosed with SMD they researched it etc. My boy absolutely loves it there.
Overall, fantastic nursery and wouldn't want my boy to go anywhere else.

My son loves coming to nursery, he attends school now but comes to Earlybirds during the school holidays. He loved being taken on the trips out and about in the local community. It's nice to know he still gets to have fun in the school holidays even though mum and dad have to work.

Excellent school. The staff are trust worthy and also there to talk to parents. Helped both my children with their progression. My children have come so far since attending Early Birds, with speech, manners and ability to learn new things. The staff are friendly and make parents feel their children

I have two children who attend and both love attending. The staff are all friendly, helpful, kind and supportive, both to the children and to parents when the youngsters are having a bad day. All staff appear to know my kid's names - even those who are not in their specific areas. I am amazed by how
much both my children have progressed since Easter - from tears and hugs to running into their rooms ready to play. The space in each room is great with a wide variety of toys and activities. Each child is treated as an individual and assisted to develop their strengths and improve their weaknesses. Highly recommended.

Earlybirds frequently take the children on day trips throughout the holiday to fun and educational places at no additional cost. The staff are great with the children and make them very welcome. Both of my children enjoy coming to Earlybirds, I would highly recommend them.

My 10-year-old daughter has been coming to Earlybirds in school holidays for several years. She loves it.
The staff are friendly and professional and very approachable.
They have a range of activities every week to keep them entertained. This includes outside visits and excursions.

This nursery is the best. Friendly staff and happy children. What more do you want? My little boy goes here and loves it. Absolutely loves it! He comes home every Wednesday and tells me what he's been doing. Is your child at this nursery? Why not? Get them in!

As a parent I feel my child is safe and settled here, he attends for two full days a week and always comes home with a smile on his face. I feel Earlybirds share the same morals and views on how a child should be raised as I do and they are a strong team who strive on encouraging children to be the
best they possibly can. My son has developed beautifully since attending here especially in his speech and he has some special bonds with certain staff and other children who attend. It puts my mind at rest when I go to work that my child is in safe and positive surroundings.

My second child is now using the nursery after my 8 year old attended from 6 months. The staff are extremely warm, caring and welcoming even at the end of the day. The standard of care given by the staff has always been excellent and the range of activities they carry out in the baby room superb. The
feedback on the day's activities is always comprehensive and demonstrates the care and attention they provide to the children. My child loves to attend every day which is probably the best recommendation there is. I have never had cause for complaint or concern and can recommend them highly enough.

I started my son here in September 2014 when he was just 1 years old. The staff were very welcoming and my son settled in very well,he did 2 mornings a week. In January 2016 my son started mainstream nursery at my local school but I still wanted him to come here so he has been getting picked up from
school every Friday and going for dinner and play time. In recent weeks I decided to up his hours as he loves it so much so now he stays for longer. The staff are very accommodating and friendly and I can have a laugh with them all and they adore my son and he loves them too. Lots of space and activities to do to keep any age range occupied. They have lovely meals cooked for them and are very good at keeping up to date with the profiles and achievements of my son. The new management are brilliant too, very easy to speak to and I always feel relaxed when going into the nursery and as I say my son is always giddy to go and always has a smile on his face when I pick him up,that speaks volumes.
