Earlybirds Daycare is a friendly and welcoming day nursery located just off Wakefield Road in Normanton, West Yorkshire.

The team at Earlybirds create a stimulating and nurturing environment to provide all their “Puddle Stompers” with the best possible start during their early years.

Each child has an online learning journal to record and track their ongoing development during their time at Earlybirds. This journal can be accessed by parents and carers at anytime and families can share with their child’s key person “WOW” moments from home.

Earlybirds is situated in the school rooms of Normanton Methodist Church and is separated into 4 different “rooms:”

Baby Room (0-2 years)

Toddler Room (2-3 years)

Pre-School Room (3-5 years)

Out of School and Holiday Club (5-11 years)

Each room has a different topic of interest each month and practitioners create engaging activities to encourage “puddle stompers” to develop and achieve their next steps of learning.

Earlybirds is a private day nursery open 7am to 7pm offering flexible session arrangements for shift workers, term time only bookings as well as consistent weekly sessions. There is also a number of spaces available for funded children, age 2, 3 and 4 years, receiving 15 or 30 hours “FREE” funding per week.

Earlybirds offer the following standard session times:

Full Day: 8:00am – 6:00pm

Morning: 8:00am – 1:00pm

Afternoon: 1:00pm – 6:00pm

Half day sessions do have limited availability, but Earlybirds Daycare would be happy to discuss your specific requirements following a visit.

  • Earlybirds Daycare offers full day and half day sessions with early starts available from 7 am and late finishes until 7pm, ideal for commuters. Please note that half day sessions have very limited availability. The team at Earlybirds Daycare will be happy to discuss current session options with you during your visit.

My daughter has been going here since she was 9 months old. Since the new owners took over I cannot praise this school enough. My daughter is confident, she knows her letters and numbers, she is bright and has lovely manners. This school and all the staff have supported me and my husband in bringing
up our little girl. They have catered for all our childcare needs. They have helped her get over her food faddy's. The school is clean, had loads of activities set up every morning and all the staff are kind and friendly. We will be so sad come September when my daughter has to leave for big school.

I am thrilled with the service this nursery provides us especially under the new owners. Our daughter is thriving in their care and learns something new each day. She is excited each morning when we drop her off and loves the staff and children who she spends her days with. I could not recommend this
nursery enough.

My son has been attending this nursery for 2 years, he loves it, he really enjoys all the fun and messy creative activities. The staff have taught him how to count and are now teaching him to recognise and write the 1st letter of his name. I am more than happy with his development, he is doing amazing
and coming on leaps and bounds. The new preschool room looks fantastic too there is much more space and room to learn.

My daughter is 9 months and fairly new to the setting, she has settled in brilliantly with the help and support of the staff in her room. The children are very well cared for and are always doing fun exciting activities. The room is welcoming and inviting and my daughter loves exploring the activities
set out. Parents are kept in the know about development through daily sheets and learning journals that are accessible to look through whenever you want. I would recommend this nursery to anyone looking for high-quality childcare.

We have two children at this setting, one in the baby room and one in the nursery school. Our boys are very happy at this nursery, the staff are very kind, caring and hardworking. They seem to genuinely enjoy being with the children and take much pleasure in sharing their achievements. Every time we
collect the boys we are informed about what they have been doing and eaten which is normally a lot! The outdoor space is limited but they make the best of it and make sure the children get outside by taking them on local walks and to the park. I have recommended this nursery to friends and feel confident that our children are happy, safe and secure in this setting.

My daughter loved her time here, the toddler/pre-school staff (that's the ones who looked after my daughter) were fantastic and really friendly. She came on leaps and bounds, she learned to read, write and even bake. She loves the staff (as do we), she'd live there if we let her! Excellent place with

A really nice place for kids, the pre-school staff are brilliant and always keep the children busy. Unlike other day care centres around here, the management always finds time to pop out and say hello and ask how we are. The pre-school team are professional and friendly and have taught her so much in
the last year. I just wish that she wasn't going to full-time school so she could stay here.

I would 100% recommend Earlybirds to any parent. My two children aged 6 and 4 absolutely love it here. The staff are always coming out with new things to keep them engaged and learning without them even being aware. They go on regular day trips and are always excited to tell us about what they've been
up to at the end of the day. It's reassuring knowing our children are happy and safe whilst we go to work.

My twins have attended Earlybirds since November 2014 (just before their 2nd birthday) and although they didn't settle at first the staff were amazing and really persevered.
I have never had any issues with the nursery but must say that since the new owner took over nearly a year ago there has been
a lot of improvements.
My daughters love going now and have really learnt a lot. I would recommend Earlybirds to any parent.

My son has been going to this nursery since he was 9 months old and now he is now 3yrs, he has made fantastic progress in all areas of his development. The staff have been brilliant as I have had concerns about his social development, they are always able to listen to my concerns and voice any issues
of their own and give advice. All staff are friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this nursery.

Brilliant nursery would recommend to anyone needing a nursery. My daughter started and she wouldn't talk or socialise with other children or other people. She has been going a year and now she doesn't shut up, and it is all down to the staff at early birds. Unfortunately for my little girl now she starts
BIG school in September and won't be going back we will both miss the staff at early birds and cannot thank them enough for what the have done for my little one they really are a fantastic nursery!

Fantastic staff, always doing lots with the kids - My lad has been there since he was 9 Months (He's now 19 Months) and he's come on leaps and bounds. The benefit of him being around all the other kids and doing so many different things while there is massive and as he grows, it shows more and more!

My Son has been attending Earlybirds since April 2016. My eldest daughter also attended previously. I have been so impressed with all the staff that I have dealt with since April 2016. They are professional and approachable and have shown nothing but care towards my Son. He has settled in well and enjoys
his time at Nursery. I am so happy for the staff that the recent Ofsted report reflects their care and dedication to all the children. I would highly recommend this Nursery to anyone.

My daughter really enjoys going to Earlybirds, and I feel reassured that she is well cared for and treated appropriately by the staffing team.
The staff at the nursery are welcoming and friendly and are always happy to listen to my concerns, and communicate how my child has been through the day.
My
daughter enjoys the school holidays as different daily planned activities keep her busy. She knows she can speak to the staff if she needs help, and I know she is safe while in the care of Earlybirds.
