Really disappointed with this awful nursery. My son came home with covid, chicken pox and hand foot and mouth with no warning. He always came home in the same nappy. His clothes would be absolutely soaked. He would come home with a rumbling tummy from not being fed and the managers response was that
a one year old should know how to use a knife and fork. I was told he could bring in a birthday cake as long as its nut free then accosted by an assistant manager as she refused to let it be taken it and made every excuse for this. Both managers were lovely to my face but awful via email. My son has a condition with his foot and he dropped one shoe outside the nursery so they left the other one on and let him hop around all day. I was told by staff that staff don't like me as i cant open the door easily when carrying my son as i have arthritis and they made comments about my 14 year olds appearance. Disgusting experience. Would absolutely not recommend. Never even had an apology

After switching to Partou Nursery Lane since Sept 2025 due to relocating with my son, I have been utterly impressed with the nursery. The transition was so smooth and I have nothing but good things to say about the staff members, the activities, the food, the safety, and the love and care he is given.
Over the past 4 months I have watched my son grow and develop in confidence, skills and language and I owe a lot to the nursery for that. Thank you for everything so far.

We are extremely pleased with the standard of care and education provided by this nursery. My daughter first struggled with settling in but the baby room did all that they could to ensure she was happy and now she loves going to nursery, she has created a special bond with the staff and especially the
room leader there. The whole staff team are absolutely amazing and we couldn't be happier as parents to send our little girl here.

From the outset, it is clear that the nursery offers a safe and nurturing environment in which children are supported to thrive.

Most importantly, our child is happy and eager to attend, which reflects the high-quality provision and positive atmosphere within the nursery. We would highly recommend this nursery to any parent seeking outstanding early years care and education.

Reply from Rachel Fryer, Home Manager at Partou Nursery Lane Day Nursery & Pre-SchoolThank you for your kind words and for choosing our nursery for your daughter's early years education. I'm heartbroken by the discrimination my disabled son faced at Partou Nursery Lane. As a non-verbal, autistic, deaf 2-year-old with special care needs, he deserved support but instead experienced inconsistent care: he was left laying in cold wet grass in winter, he'd come home hungry, dehydrated, with
soiled nappies, and it was clear he'd been poorly supervised. Managers ignored emails and calls, refusing to discuss his SEN support, meaning he missed out on help he needed. Staff often asked me to pick him up early when he cried rather than trying to support him. Interactions became uncomfortable and dismissive once I raised concerns. I removed him as I no longer felt confident his needs were understood or prioritised. He was discriminated against for being disabled, despite being a lovely boy who plays nicely and independently.
Once I stated the negligence he was experiencing, they pushed us away and didn't try to improve.
I'm sharing this so SEN parents can make an informed choice.

My daughter attends this nursery and since the new manger has taken over it has been absolutely fantastic, and has improved massively. All the staff are lovely and caring and look after my daughter brilliantly. We get a regular newsletter about what is going on in the nursery, and we recently had tea
parties for mothers and Father's Day with the children making their parents gifts which was so thoughtful. There are different activities set out for the children each day and my daughter is very happy here and will really miss the nursery when she leaves for school!

The staff are incredibly caring and professional, they truly care for each individual child. My daughter has thrived at the nursery and she looks forward to going. My second born has recently started at the nursery and has settled in well and formed a great bond with the staff. Communication with the
nursery is amazing, we are kept up-to- date with the children's activities and progress. Overall a great nursery we felt welcomed and comfortable from day one.

Really good nursery, very well organised and the staff is very good. My son struggled with settling in however they made it comfortable for him and he loves being there now. My son tells me about how his days have been and he really enjoys playing with the sand, colouring and playing outside. Definitely
would recommend to anyone.

I would fully recommend The Nursery and could not thank the staff enough for helping our son settle into his new routine of attending three days a week. The staff really get to know the children as individuals and can provide parents/carers with a very clear and detailed overview of each day. The staff
care deeply about their nursery and the families who attend. Our son really enjoys the range of activities on offer and his confidence is growing. In addition, the staff support his development and he is coming on leaps and bounds.

My son attends twice a week and the staff are always so kind and supportive. I've had some issues through the start of the year and I've been so well looked after it sometimes feels like they are here for the parents as much as the children.

Our son started here late last year, we were worried about his progress coming up to the twenty-month mark and we knew starting nursery would hopefully help. We couldn’t fault the care and the support we have received from the nursery's acting manager and his key worker. They have been nothing but absolutely
amazing with him and the progression we’ve seen since he started has been wonderful to see. We couldn’t recommend them enough.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.836) out of 10 for Partou Nursery Lane Day Nursery & Pre-School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.188 for Partou Nursery Lane Day Nursery & Pre-School is calculated as follows: ( (104 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (23 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 154 Ratings = 4.188
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.648 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Partou Nursery Lane Day Nursery & Pre-School is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 = 3.775
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 number of registered child places is 12.6. 11 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.6 = 0.873
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
