The Little Green Frog Day Nursery

I can’t thank all the staff enough, especially my son’s ‘care bears’, who he bonded with perfectly well, therefore, enabling him to settle in quickly and enjoy his time in the nursery.

My little boy attended The Little Green Frog Day Nursery for two and a half years until he went to school. From my first initial phone call to the nursery to enquire, I knew it was the right nursery for us as a family. I had concerns about how my son would settle in after a previously difficult experience elsewhere. The owner was so generous with her time to talk to me and reassure me and come up with a great plan to settle my son into the nursery, based on his individual personality. Every member of staff I came into contact with at the nursery were so patient and caring. I was always very impressed with the communication among the staff and the feedback and support I received as a parent. I love that the nursery encourages the children to be really independent and take risks. The food is excellent and my son tries and eats lots of things that I'd never be able to get him to eat at home! I cannot wait for my daughter to start later on this year! I know she will love it.

My eldest son went to The Little Green Frog from being 10-months-old until he started reception in September 2020. He absolutely adored everything about the nursery. He was so confident starting school, and we knew that his time at nursery had put him on the front foot. He had such a lovely bond with his care bears and all of the other staff and made such good friends. My youngest son started in January 2021, and despite being nervous about how everything would be in the middle of a pandemic, we have been so reassured by the manager and the team. He has settled in so well and loves nursery just as much as his big brother did. One of my favourite things about The Little Green Frog (and there are lots to choose from) is how much they encourage the children to be adventurous and inquisitive and how much time they spend exploring outdoors!

My son has been attending The Little Green Frog nursery since September. From the first step of the induction process, I knew it would be a good experience for him. I felt that the staff really cared about getting to know him and all the things he liked to do with us. They went to great effort to help him feel at home. Now he has been attending nursery for a while we have found it lovely. Nothing is too much for the staff, and he is always greeted with a lovely, warm hello and welcomed in at every session. Even when he was unsure at first, they gently persevered with him until he was soon confident to be there. He loves the food and the activities and playing with the other children. As a family, we have felt the nursery to be supportive, friendly and to offer excellent care. Thank you to you all for everything you do.

Cannot praise the manager and her team enough. One particular key worker did amazingly well at settling my child into the nursery. As with most children, he does not want to go to nursery on a morning and is a little reluctant to leave me. When I arrive to pick him up, he does not want to come home.

Our youngest who is now three has been regularly attending The Little Green Frog since he was 12-months. He is the third of my children to attend the nursery, which attests to how happy we are with The Little Green Frog. The staff (many of whom have worked there for a long time) are caring, fun and reassuring for the children. The provision is absolutely wonderful; children are encouraged to be curious, and their own interests spark the activities for the day. I love the approach which encourages safe risk-taking, and all of my children have loved jumping around the gorgeous outside area from tyres and self-made bridges. They have learned to use wood and nails and to plant vegetables and flowers and then made their own food from the vegetables they have grown. My children have made lasting friendships with children in the local area, and they have nothing but fond memories of The Little Green Frog. They still rave about the food... I cannot replicate it! Their approach to Covid 19 has been exemplary.

Excellent care and support from all nursery staff when my son needed a little more attention and developmental support. He's doing exceptionally well now. Great communication for parents from nursery staff. Staff also managed my son's allergies with no issues, ensuring he still had a wide variety of meals and wasn't excluded in any way.

The Little Green Frog is quite simply a home away from home for the children. Their warm, welcoming and relaxed approach never fail to impress me and the huge smile that greets me from my little boy, when I collect him at the end of every day, says it all.

From the moment my son started at The Little Green Frog aged 11 months, the team welcomed us in, making the transition back to work stress-free. He absolutely loves every single day he spends at nursery. The team understand him, provide lots of opportunities to develop his interests (tractors) and encourage child-led learning. Not only this, the children spend time outdoors every day, which for me, was and still is an important element.

I honestly cannot recommend The Little Green Frog enough.

The manager is a fabulous person that is lovely to work with. The whole team is fantastic, they genuinely care about the children - my daughter loves going there! As a parent, I felt there was an open door to ring and come in as much as I wanted at the beginning when we were settling in. Communication with parents has been outstanding throughout the whole period. It really is a brilliant nursery with a nice family feel to it. Their support since the start of the pandemic has been so valuable to us as a family. I feel confident and reassured each time I leave my daughter there, that she will have a fantastic day and receive excellent care. I also have an 8-month-old baby, and I look forward to her starting there in a few months. Highly recommended!

They've created such a special place for young children.

I am so grateful to Little Green Frog for allowing me to go to work knowing my boys are safe, and most importantly, they are happy.

All of the staff are so friendly, and I know our little girl is happy and enjoying her days at nursery.

Both of our children love going to nursery, and we are very happy with the care provided. The ‘Care Bears’ know our children really well, which helps them to feel safe and confident. We would happily recommend The Little Green Frog.

I cannot rate Little Green Frog highly enough. My first daughter attended from age 9 months until this year when she left to start school and my second has been there for a year. I love everything about this nursery. The atmosphere is always positive. The children play outside every day, the food is fantastic, and they often have visitors into nursery and trips out (including to the river and to visit the elderly residents at Teal Beck). It is obvious from the two-room setup of the nursery the well thought out resources, the freshly prepared food, and the training the staff receives. The owner and all the staff are passionate about early childhood development. I'm a primary school teacher myself and if I were ever to own a nursery, I want it to be exactly the same as Little Green Frog.

Little Green Frogs has been great. Our two girls are very happy and settled there, and the nursery has been really accommodating with our need for flexibility. They are very responsive to anything we raise, always trying to make sure our children are happy and confident at nursery.

My daughter has attended since February 2018. It is a lovely setting, with great outside space to play. The staff are lovely and she has always enjoyed her days there, loads of activities and messy play. Very engaged with the local community as well, taking part in carnivals and visiting a local residential home. Would highly recommend.

My daughter has been attending this nursery since last August. She moved from a much larger setting which on the face of it appeared to have much better facilities, but it was no match for the creativity, care and fantastic use of outdoor space here. The staff are incredible, they are caring and creative and know my daughter very well. Her imagination has come on hugely and she is very settled. She has been allowed to explore outdoors. There is always a range of activities on offer and my daughter is able to make choices about what she wants to do. The way that the nursery and staff immediately took action to keep in touch with the children and give them a connection to the nursery during the current shutdown is truly impressive, my daughter is clearly missing nursery hugely, but she is delighted to see the staff and share stories and songs online. The effort and care that goes into this at a difficult time is a reflection of the extremely high standards of care that the nursery provides.

Overall, we have been really pleased and would definitely recommend the nursery to others.
