Partou Whalley Meadows Day Nursery & Forest School in Clitheroe provides exceptional care and education for babies and children up to the age of five.

As an official Forest School, Whalley Meadows is a place where children enjoy stimulating learning activities in an inspirational natural environment. The children regularly learn in the great outdoors; building dens, exploring woodlands developing their social skills in the fresh air.

Children at the nursery enjoy a wide range of learning activities from Forest School sessions and dance, to numeracy, ICT and literacy. Parents stay up to date and involved with their children’s development using the nursery’s own online learning journal.

The Whalley Meadows team are experienced and hold childcare qualifications, paediatric first aid certificates and safeguarding training. Every team member has enhanced DBS checks and the nursery has CCTV and secure door entry systems for added security.

The chef at Whalley Meadows prepares the nursery’s fresh and nutritionally balanced meals and snacks in the nursery kitchen, providing children with healthy and delicious homemade food every day. The nursery’s seasonal menu is prepared with quality, locally sourced ingredients and can be altered to meet any special dietary requirements.

Meals and snacks are included in the nursery’s fees, as well as nappies, wipes and sun cream. 15 and 30 hours free childcare places are available for eligible families.

My daughter loves her time at Whalley Meadows in the preschool room. She loves trips to the big forrest school. I love the updates on the learning app. It's a great place for preschoolers.

The staff seem caring and there are varied activities based partly on what the children are interested in. Forrest school is really good, she always has a great time there. She is happy there and I feel happy that she enjoys it

Fantastic staff who offer support to me as a parent as well as to my son. It's got a wonderfully warm environment for children to grow and learn also the meals that are provided for the children are fabulous, my son absolutely loves them. An excellent nursery that my daughter loves. Enjoys going outside with the forest school and had great fun over Christmas doing the nativity and going to her first pantomime.

Our daughter loves going to Whalley Meadows. She has really progressed since starting last year. The staff in her room are always very friendly and have a great relationship with our daughter. When she arrives she holds her arms out to her keyworker and is at ease straight away. She enjoys the food
she eats at nursery, and has a varied diet there. She certainly tries more food at nursery than she does at home! She is starting a new room very soon, and I am certain she will love it just as much as she does now!

My son has been attending Whalley Meadows for over a year and he loves it. The staff are all friendly and know all the children's names, even when they're not in the same room as them. My son does a wide range of activities at nursery and always goes in fine. He's recently moved up to another room and
the transition period has been great. He's really benefited from a slow introduction to the room and we are so happy we picked Whalley Meadows.

My 1-year-old daughter quickly changed from crying when I dropped her to putting her arms out to go to whoever was there to greet us, showing how much she loves and trusts the staff. The nursery itself is small and lovely and she’s full and shattered when I collect her, showing she has had the best

My little girl has been attending part-time at the nursery for the past 7 months. She’s taken a lot of time to settle, mainly due to her own personality and being part-time. However, I can only commend the staff for being consistent and persevering with her. Their friendliness each day for her and making
sure she has a fun day has made her get to a point where she enjoys being there and drop-offs are much easier now.
I feel comfortable leaving my little girl in their care and the setting is inviting.
The only thing I would like is more about what she’s done in the day, in terms of learning/activities.

Unfortunately, our experience of Whalley Meadows is poor, and had my Daughter not been settled having attended since 12 months old, we would have sought alternative arrangements.
Our journey started well but following a change in management, a high staff turnover became apparent. Towards the end of
my Daughter's time at the Nursery, her Key Worker changed 3 times over a 6 month period, which is not ideal during the transitional phase to school.
Communication is minimal and I almost felt that I was a burden asking what my Daughter had done during the day, eaten, etc when I came to collect her.
I complained as to the lack of information provided on the app and was told they only have to provide a minimum of 1 update per week. Expect the bare minimum. Assessments are completed without detail, again I had to press for a detailed one before starting school.
Just Childcare is now holding my deposit (in breach of their own terms) and I will be proceeding with legal action to recover.

My little boy absolutely loves nursery. I couldn’t have picked anywhere better for him. I was so nervous choosing a nursery as he is my first but Whalley Meadows has put me at ease. He always comes home after having an activity-packed day with a big smile on his face.

Brilliant nursery. Activities are always ongoing, lovely staff, communication is good and they are accommodating and helpful. Always available to talk to if I have any concerns. My little boy had not mixed with very many other people and was quite shy. Although it has taken him a few weeks to settle in, he has come out of his shell and is settling into his new routine. I have appreciated the help of his key worker and staff making him feel safe and looked after. Thankyou.

For the last two years the staff at Whalley Meadows Private Day Nursery and Forest School, Clitheroe have done a fantastic job of educating and looking after our daughter. In every room she has been in, the staff have been caring, well informed and dedicated to ensuring that she is happy whilst in their
care. The nursery offers a good range of activities. My daughter spends a lot of time outside and at Forest School, an activity that she loves and talks about often. She never complains about attending and speaks about the staff and the other children with great affection. The management is excellent. As parents we have been well informed and nothing has been too much trouble, even during the challenging times of the pandemic. I cannot recommend Whalley Meadows Private Day Nursery and Forest School, Clitheroe enough. When it is time for my daughter to move on to Primary School, I know she will miss being there immensely but we will be grateful for the excellent start they have given her.

A wonderful preschool. The staff are so friendly and caring. My son loves going every day. He enjoys all the activities, especially Forest School with one particular member of staff. Two other members of staff are fantastic and have really helped my son to be prepared to start Primary School in September.
Their encouragement and support has given him confidence and he is progressing so well in his learning.

I have had a really good experience with Whalley Meadows Private Day Nursery and Forest School, Clitheroe. The baby room staff are exceptional and you know your baby is well cared for and safe. There is nominal staff turnover, so you always feel confident in handing your child over. My daughter loves
the forest school and has a really good relationship with the staff.
