Poppies Day Nursery

We couldn’t be happier with the nursery. Our daughter has settled in really quickly due to the excellent care and attention provided by the staff. We get regular updates on how she spends her days which provides great reassurance. They do a variety of activities with the children to ensure they enjoy their time each day. Thank you to all the staff.

Our son has attended Poppies since August 2022 and within a day or two, settled into Big Bears like he'd been there for months already! The staff are excellent with the children, observant and encouraging with their teachings and very friendly and approachable and we have found the communication with the parents to be great. Our son enjoys all of the activities, lessons and playtime outside. He is now in pre-school and especially looks forward to Forest School. The meals are varied and sound delicious! I'm so glad we found Poppies and I can't wait for our other son to start there. Thank you to all the staff - you are wonderful and a credit to the nursery!

Brilliant, safe and happy nursery. My child has come on so much since going to nursery and has a brilliant relationship with not only the staff in his room but the entire nursery. It’s lovely to get pictures and updates on the daily activities.

Our daughter has been attending Poppies now for 2 years and we are extremely happy. The staff are great! Very friendly, caring and fun. Fab outdoor space, and we love how often they take the children out to play. Highly recommend the nursery.

A wonderfully nurturing, creative and enriched environment with staff who genuinely care. Good organisation, lots of additional activities and outings in the local area. We're so pleased, and wouldn't want our child to attend anywhere else.

Poppies is a wonderful nursery, and my son is so happy and settled there. His key workers are extremely attentive and caring. He has the opportunity to play outside every day, and the staff keep me informed of what he has been up to. I couldn’t recommend it enough.

Overall experience for Poppies is one of confidence as my daughter happily goes into nursery without looking back and proactively reaches out to be held by the staff there. There are two standout individuals I won't name who have been amazing and have really put a lot of energy into my daughter's experience.

The food at Poppies is, by all accounts, superb (at least according to our son!). The new playground equipment is fantastic and should really be the envy of all nurseries in the area. In addition, the 'extracurriculars' - whether the dance or football classes, or trips out and about - are amazing and just feel really well thought-out. As with all nurseries, they aren't cheap, but I'd be amazed if you could find anything that even comes close to the 'value for money' Poppies provides. You can genuinely see where your money goes and it just feels incredibly worth it. Poppies is amazing!

We could not have wished for a safer setting for our daughter. Her transition from nursery to preschool was so smooth, and she was so happy as she was familiar with the staff and children in her new room. We have always been very happy with the way Poppies Day Nursery look after and teaches our little girl.

Our son has attended Poppies for over two years since he was 6 months old. He loves it. The staff are so caring. The food is amazing. The outside space is great for exploring. We get regular updates on what he has been doing at nursery. His language, social skills and confidence have really developed since being there.

Poppies is incredible. The staff are enthusiastic, knowledgable and really care. They organise educational activities and amazing extracurricular stuff like animal visiting, forest school and a magician. My boys are learning so much every day.

My daughter absolutely loves Poppies so much so that she doesn’t want to leave when I come to collect her. The staff are so attentive and I feel like I could put my trust in them 100%. My daughter has developed so much socially and emotionally since attending and gets so excited to get through the door in the mornings. The nursery is always so clean and both outdoor and indoor areas are perfect for the children to have fun and learn.

It’s great to see my daughter progressing through her key milestones and I believe nursery plays a big part in this. I love the variety of activities and menus each week and I particularly like the upgraded play facilities outside which were just in time for the summer months!

We are so pleased with Poppies. Our daughter has just moved to her 4th room there and every time she settles in very well and her key workers are great. We think the staff are attentive and any issues are always looked at immediately.

The staff have been excellent with our child since day one. The nursery has a home-from-home feel where the transition into nursery has been smooth for our child. The daily meals at the nursery are nice and healthy with a good variety of meals options. The staff arrange daily fun activities which are suitable for the child’s age/development.

Our daughter is 2 and has been with Poppies for over a year now, the team have been fantastic throughout this time and made the recent transition of rooms seamless. The staff at Poppies are friendly, supportive and offer excellent communication. My daughter’s key person and her colleagues provide detailed feedback daily and it’s clear that she loves her time with them. Our daughter also has some specific dietary requirements and Poppies and their wonderful nursery cook have gone out of their way to make sure suitable alternatives are on offer. My 11-month-old loves Poppies Nursery and my husband and I feel confident he’s safe and happy there. From the first day we visited the children were all calm and engaged in activities. There was a real difference in atmosphere compared to other nurseries we visited, it’s clear there’s a focus on enrichment and well-being.

Both my children absolutely love going to nursery and the change and development I have seen in them is amazing. The staff demonstrate a genuine passion for their work and it is a friendly and welcoming environment.
