Apples & Pears Private Day Nursery

My little boy has attended Apples and Pears since April 2026 and although he was not sure at first because of normal separation anxiety, he walks in now with a big smile on his face. The app is fantastic and keeps you up to date with food, naps, activities and accidents/incidents. I love receiving photos of the fun activities that are setup by the room, which I would love more of, and I can also message the room using the app. The team review who your child bonds with and can swap keyworker if the initial choice doesn't work out. The menu is sent out usually on a Friday for the next week and the variety is great! Staff are so friendly and they always make time for you at pick up and drop off to do a debrief of the day and make sure any questions are answered. I find room staff really accommodating when it comes to individual needs, like nap arrangements and all staff even office and kitchen, were so lovely to me when he first started and I was upset!

All the room staff that we as parents have come across have been incredibly friendly which again makes us feel at ease knowing our child is in good hands with caring people. We would though, like to see more of our child's key worker, they are obviously the person who has been selected for our child however we very rarely see them so it would be nice to see them more, where possible, when collecting our child.

The nursery are fab and very friendly too. I feel comfortable leaving my child and know they are well looked after. The app provides me with updates, I am also able to contact the nursery easily. The menu provided to the children each week looks very nutritious and varied. When I collect my child the staff give me a detailed overview of his day

My son has some learning delays, and the support he has received has been nothing short of amazing. The staff have taken the time to truly get to know him as an individual, understanding his needs and finding different ways to help him learn, develop, and build confidence. They have worked closely with us every step of the way, keeping us informed and involved, and have always been proactive in finding new strategies and support options to help him reach his potential. Absolutely brilliant place can't thank the staff enough, we looked at a few nurseries before finding this place, we are so happy that we did, they have the children outside quite a lot and such friendly staff.

If you're looking for an extension to your family in the form of day care, this is where you should be sending your little ones!

The only considerations I would ask the nursery to make are for more regular updates on what our child is doing during their time at the nursery, and what elements are in place to support them with their development. We used to have far more regular updates via the app. This seems to have reduced quite dramatically, most likely due to time restraints, but we did find the updates really useful and also comforting. It's completely understandable that staff are busy caring for the children which is the utmost priority, but we have found that this has impacted the quality of our experience with the nursery, at the same time as fees increasing.

Apples and Pears is an absolutely wonderful nursery. By far the best in the area and probably beyond. The purpose-built setting really makes a difference to the feel, with open-plan indoor/outdoor spaces. The staff are absolutely amazing and make such lovely bonds with the children. My child started when he was 15 months and is now nearly 3 and has made friends that he will probably take through all of his school years. He loves every minute of it. They create such a lovely sociable setting around mealtimes too which I thoroughly appreciate with having a very fussy eater. I have recommended to a few friends now who all find it an amazing nursery.

Apples & Pears feels like a very safe and happy environment for our child. The feedback from staff throughout the day on our child's play, meals, and naps is extremely valuable and an excellent feature offered by the nursery. It has put our minds at ease that our child is safe and well cared for, whilst gaining valuable social skills with other children.

We cannot recommend Apples and Pears highly enough! Our little one has been going since she turned 1, she's just gone up to her new room! The staff are amazing, everyone from the greeting at reception, the care she receives while in the nursery, the handover process, and the support of the office too. Our little one has come on so much since she's been in attendance. An absolute credit to the time spent at Apples And Pears.

Can't wait to see how she continues to grow at Allles & Pears, especially as she'll be attending 3 x a week from January.

Apples and Pears dedication is outstanding, creating a nurturing environment where my daughter thrives and her happiness speaks volumes. I'm amazed at how much she's learning and exploring while having so much fun. As a parent, I'm genuinely impressed with the quality of care. While the nursery excels in its daily activities, I would recommend considering incorporating more activities beyond the setting. Day trips to places like the post office, the zoo, farms, or woodland areas would add an extra layer of learning and excitement for the children. I also suggest enhancing parent-toddler events. A meet-and-greet during class transitions would foster community and enable playdates. As a parent, I value being involved in her activities and development. Her daily excitement reflects the positive atmosphere built. I'm immensely grateful for the exceptional care that shapes her early years. Thank you for fostering an environment where she feels loved, valued, and eager to learn.

As a parent, I have had a really positive and welcoming experience so far. All the staff go above and beyond to ensure my little boy is looked after and happy. All the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. It has made going back to work after maternity so much easier knowing that they have my little boy's needs their priority.

Both of my children attended Apples and Pears from the age of 1 and have both thoroughly enjoyed their time there. The staff provide an excellent level of care and is always welcoming and friendly. My eldest was well prepared for school following his time in preschool and was sad to leave!

I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery. I have had 3 children attend and every one has been happy at apples and pears. They make strong relationships with peers and staff, the practitioners are friendly and always have time to talk. I feel my children were well prepared for next steps, whether it was moving room or preparation for school. The pre school room and management organise a lovely Xmas performance and graduation. The other rooms organise play and stay sessions you are invited to join in with which I really enjoyed joining. My children have had lots of fun and memorable experiences and I feel they had a great start in life. Management are approachable and easy to talk to.

My child is happy which makes me happy. The staff are wonderful, patient and kind. Can't fault it at all and would recommend to everyone. The setting is lovely and modern and clean, and staff stay a long time which says something too.

The nursery has a lovely atmosphere and really attentive staff who truly care about the children they look after. It’s a nice and clean nursery and very well organised. The activities they do with the children are really good at helping them to develop and the feedback when picking up is very detailed. I would highly recommend this nursery for little ones.

My children love the nursery and we have been very impressed since our eldest started in Dec 2021. The staff are friendly and provide good updates and management are engaged in providing an excellent service. In terms of improvement, other nurseries do have more flexibility if a day here or there needs to be swapped whereas, Apple and Pears doesn’t, given the length and amount of custom I would expect something could be done about this to cater to certain circumstances.

The thing we have noticed the most is that our child acts the same in nursery as he does when happy and content at home - a true testament to the staff's ability to support his development effectively. They have become our village to help us raise a happy, thriving child and we are so happy we chose this nursery.
