Partou Curiosity Corner Day Nursery & Pre-school provides exceptional care and education for babies and children up to the age of five. The nursery has 'the curiosity approach' accredited and the setting is one of the most well-established nurseries in Southport, having been open for nearly 20 years.

Children at the nursery are prepared for school in a fun, inspiring environment led by highly qualified staff. Exciting learning activities are planned around each child’s unique interests and needs, and parents are included in this using an online learning journal.

A modern-day ‘curiosity approach’ is adopted in areas throughout the nursery, nurturing children’s sense of wonder using natural resources. Staff at the nursery are dedicated to inspiring curiosity and awe with this approach, creating the ‘thinkers and doers’ of the future.

Their childcare practitioners hold childcare qualifications, have safeguarding and paediatric first aid training and have all undergone enhanced DBS checks. CCTV and secure door entry systems provide added security for the nursery’s little ones.

15 and 30 free hour childcare places are available to eligible families, and fees include milk, nappies, wipes and sun cream. Fees also include the nursery’s delicious and healthy meals and snacks, which are freshly prepared in the nursery kitchen each day.

We recently moved our little boy to Partou Curiosity Corner from a different nursery and we couldn't be happier with the decision. From the very first day, we noticed a significant change in his attitude and behaviour. He is much happier and more engaged, thanks to the nurturing and stimulating environment
provided by the wonderful staff.
We decided to start our little girl at the nursery as well. She has settled in beautifully and is always excited and happy to go to nursery. The care and attention she receives have made her transition smooth and enjoyable.
We are incredibly grateful to all the team and their Key Workers for creating such a positive and supportive atmosphere for our children. Their happiness and development are a testament to the excellent care provided here. Highly recommended!

Overall this nursery is perfect. We moved our little boy from a previous nursery he had attended from 9 months old and we were apprehensive he wouldn’t settle. However, we didn’t need to worry he settled right in and the staff made us feel very welcome, my little boy loves attending nursery and will
run in with a big smile. We love that they have the big field for the children to run around which is used daily as we have seen on the app that he is out there if not once twice a day, they also have a smaller garden that’s accessible throughout the day too which is amazing for our little boy was he loves being outside. The staff are always on hand to answer any questions we have and give good feedback at the end of the day despite having all the information on the app they will still chat about what my child has done throughout his day. I can’t fault this nursery and would highly recommend it to everyone.

We were at this nursery for around 3 months and have since left after a huge safeguarding issue happened and management didn’t follow the correct procedures or seem bothered.
Nice big ‘field’ in the garden which was almost never used - they went outside a handful of times in the months my child was
there.
A handful of staff were amazing, others barely spoke when you were trying to drop your child off smoothly - among a list of other things we weren’t happy with. A general lack of care.

Could not recommend this nursery enough! The staff are amazing and always give great advice or guidance! My little boy loves going and is so well looked after, the meals are always well prepared and there is always a good range of different dishes! Would recommend to anyone!

I feel complete confidence in the nursery and its staff! They have had an integral part to play in raising my daughter and I could not be happier! They keep her super comfortable, happy and engaged in new and exciting activities. The true care and love shown by each individual staff member to my child

My daughter loves it!

Absolutely brilliant nursery with staff that go above and beyond for each child. My little boy absolutely loves going to nursery and runs in every morning. They have made him feel safe and comfortable to be himself. Always supporting myself and Dad and how we can help him with his additional needs.

I am delighted with my daughter's settling process. Her room (pandas) is set out well and the children always have lots of fun learning opportunities. The staff are friendly, caring and helpful. The digital learning journey is a great way to keep up to date with my daughter's progress. The Big Picture
has a wonderful atmosphere which shows in the dedicated staff and management. The food is fresh and tasty and always offers new dishes for the children to try. The outdoor area is fabulous, from sensory gardens and large sand pits to a large grassed field where the children can use a wide range of outdoor equipment. Such as climbing frames, bikes and role-play equipment.

On starting nursery my granddaughter was very happy to play with the other children. She was welcomed by the staff who are all very friendly and encouraging.
The nursery environment is clean and there’s plenty of equipment to aid learning, play and development.
My granddaughter has progressed immensely
since attending nursery and I would recommend The Big Picture to my friends and neighbours.

Our little boy loves The Big Picture so much, having started in October last year. We looked around many nurseries before we chose this and the manager was so patient showing us around and answering all of our questions.
He’s just moved up to the 2-3 room and I can see his confidence glowing from
him. The staff here are wonderful and get to know the whole family. It’s so lovely to see my child so settled and at ease, would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a nurturing environment for their child.

We moved our daughter from another nursery to The Big Picture Day Nursery due to her previous nursery not meeting her needs. She is autistic. From the minute we visited the nursery, we knew it was where we wanted our daughter to be. The manager and staff were reassuring and kind and worked with us to
ensure our daughter’s transition was as smooth as possible, which it was. Our daughter felt safe with the staff straight away and adapted quickly. Any concerns we have are dealt with straight away. We have regular contact with the managers. They have adapted to our daughter’s needs, no questions asked. The children are provided with so much attention and have lots of things to do. I cannot fault the nursery whatsoever. The manager and staff are amazing.

My little boy had never been to a nursery before and was shy, since coming to The Big Picture he has really come out of his shell! I’m so thankful to all the ladies that work there, and the ladies in the 0-2 room for helping my little boy develop and grow, it’s a wonderful nursery with a wide range
of activities for all ages. I highly recommend sending your child to The Big Picture they will be looked after so well. The food is cooked from scratch by the chef so the children get amazing food, the chef sometimes lets the children join in and bake their own things. The garden facilities for all ages are wonderful the children love going outside. Since the manager has been there the nursery has thrived so much she’s a lovely lady who always puts the children’s needs before anyone. I never have any worries about my little one as I know he’s safe and looked after

It is a very good nursery. All the staff are kind and look after the babies. You can find lots of stuff the babies can play with. They have lots of books the babies can read.

After having a not-so-great experience with a local nursery, my wife and I set out to find another nursery for our daughter. We visited a few places, but The Big Picture Nursery stood out to us. The manager showed us around and we could tell, almost instantly, that she genuinely loves her job and the
welfare of all children. Her passion and love for the job and natural care for toddlers really stood out. After agreeing this was the correct nursery for our daughter, we have gotten to know the staff more as each week passes, and all of them share the same enthusiasm as the manager for the development of every child. We love the fact they try and raise money for charity, and also they have recently had several events where family members were welcome to take part in the day's activities. Prices are very fair, but in reality, it is the overall care that means the most to us, and not the price. We would 100% recommend it.

The Big Picture is just an all-around fantastic nursery. The resources available for the children are amazing and the staff treat your little ones as they would their own. My daughter turns one this week, nursery presented her with a beautiful handmade card and all staff were in tears handing it over
because the baby of the baby room is growing up! If you are looking for a home-from-home feel, this is the nursery for you! I can't thank the girls enough for their dedication to making each and every day filled with fun and laughter for my daughter and she has come on leaps and bounds since joining. My daughter goes in every day with the biggest smile as she is greeted at the door, what more could you ask for. Thank you the Big Picture!

Our daughter is very happy at The Big Picture. The staff are friendly, good fun, adaptable, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Their ideas are creative and appealing to the children. They are also flexible with parents, giving us the time we need to settle our little ones when they're a little more clingy
for whatever reason. Our daughter loves her meals here too, which are homemade and healthy and promote the discovery of different kinds of foods. We have found The Big Picture to enhance our little girl's learning and social development, and the consistency of staff has been imperative in this. She has moved from the baby room to the under two's room and is almost ready to move up again. A resounding thank you from us to you! We highly recommend The Big Picture.
