My little girl started at 16 months and is now nearly 2, she goes in smiling and comes out smiling, all the staff have been amazing with her which has helped her bond, lots of fantastic relationships. I feel my little one is safe and well cared for which puts my mind at ease. When she started the nursery
was under a new manager and deputy manager who are doing an incredible job at keeping the nursery running in these crazy time.

Both of my children attend Stepping Stones Nursery and have recommended to my friends. My eldest is in preschool and he has developed and learned so much. He enjoys going and tells me about his friends and what activities he has been doing. He enjoys French and Spanish and using the interactive board.
He loves playing outside. He also comments on how good the food is! My little girl has just started in the baby room and she has settled in really well. She loves playing with the other babies and has been drawing and painting. They both are well looked after and happy.

My 2-year-old Daughter loved her time at Stepping Stones, we really couldn’t have chosen a better nursery for her. The staff and management are lovely and put us at ease from the moment we walked through the door.
I was a little bit anxious about leaving my Daughter as she has quite complex needs due
to having severe Eczema, but the staff really took this on board and ensured that she was kept comfortable by applying her creams several times throughout the day and adhering to the information I had given them regarding her allergies. You know your child's happy when they are racing to get through the nursery door on arrival. Thank you so much Stepping Stones!

My son joined Stepping Stones when he was 3 and a half after we moved to the area. He has loved his time there and has built fantastic relationships with the staff who are all energetic, enthusiastic, experienced but most of all caring. The nursery has a great family feel and it’s small scale means
everyone knows everyone. It has a lovely garden and the children get up to all sorts of indoor and outdoor activities. I thoroughly recommend it.

My son has really settled in nicely at Stepping Stones. He does tend to be very shy so the fact that this is a small setting really suits him. It stood out to me that all the staff knew his name from the day he started. All the staff are caring and friendly. A good range of activities are offered which
keep my son busy and entertained.

When a previous setting said my little one had made no progress since starting with them 4 months previously, we agreed a change was needed. From the first telephone contact with Stepping Stones, I was impressed and this was confirmed when we visited. The setting has a lovely, family feel where all
staff know every child's name. My little one has some additional needs and great care was taken to understand these before he started and I get daily updates with how he has been that day. It is clear that he is thriving. He runs in happy and ready to start his day. Previously he had lots of difficulties from focusing to behaviour that disrupted others but now he is listening, complying with instructions and enjoying his time in nursery. My little one does not tolerate sugar so care is taken to ensure his meals are free from. He has the same as all the other children so he does not feel left out or different to them. I can't recommend Stepping Stones enough!

My son has been going to the holiday club provided by Stepping Stones since summer last year and he enjoys the trips they organise so much, he always asks me to make sure I book him in. The trips are always well planned, educational and fun. My son comes home chattering away about the amazing day he's
had. The staff are very professional, friendly and I know that my son will be well cared for and entertained. He really enjoyed the recent trip to Reddish vale farm and still mentions last year's trip to Bramhall Park and the tour around the house. I would highly recommend.

When my baby first started at the nursery the carers really helped my child settle in well.
He has a key carers which has helps him get a good bond with them and he is learning new things every week.

I love my updates on his progress at the end of each day he attends and occasional pictures.

I

feel the nursery is also very supportive especially as I was very anxious at leaving my child for the first few times.

My son has blossomed since starting at Stepping Stones, the staff are so friendly and helpful. He can't wait to get there in the mornings and not once has been bothered about me leaving him. Daily updates on food intake and activities, along with pictures and video updates on Tapestry make myself and
his dad feel at ease, as it is clear he is extremely happy there.

As a stay at home mum I was reluctant to put my 3-year-old son at ‘any’ nursery, but after the initial tour and interaction with staff I was confident that this is the right nursery for my child. Staff are very attentive and patient (as my child is a bit of a rascal). Lots of activities for the children,
including Spanish and French. I think my son enjoys nursery so much, he doesn’t want to go home! Overall, a very good local nursery with great staff and management.

The staff are incredibly passionate towards the children and know each little personality in depth.

My son arrives and leaves happily everyday and when you are leaving your child to go to work, I don’t think you can hope for much more than that.

It’s also so positive to have a male nursery practitioner

in the team!

My daughter has been at the nursery for a few months after a previous nursery was closed and we haven't looked back!
Her speech, phonetics and general learning and understanding have come on very quickly and the staff strike a fine balance between learning and fun.
With a great outside space, large
uncrowded rooms and staff who know all children from all rooms it's a pleasure to be a part of Stepping Stones Nursery.

My child's development has been amazing since joining the nursery.

The staff are always very friendly on pickup and drop off and always fill us in on our child's day.

They run multiple activities and try to get the children in the fresh air as much as the weather allows.

Any messages I have

raised with the staff and team are always addressed and responded to.

Stepping Stones is a fantastic nursery, my son was made to feel so welcome by all the staff. He started at 11mths and the staff in the baby room have been very flexible in helping him to settle into nursery, for example keeping his breakfast the same as home.
The nursery is very friendly and all the
staff know the children’s names, making it a real homely place. My son has really grown in confidence since attending nursery, and is always full of smiles when I drop off and pick up.
The food is great, my son eats and finishes every meal. His playtime is varied with lots of different sensory toys.

My daughter is nearly 4 and based in the preschool room, she has been attending Stepping Stones since she was 11 months old.
My daughter is very happy here and has grown into a confident and very strong-willed child!
The outside space is excellent, clean and safe for the children and the menu prepared
by their fabulous cook is varied and healthy, although my daughter is very fussy they try their best to accommodate.
Any issues over the years have been ironed out fast.
If my daughter is going to nursery happy and coming out happy then I’m happy!

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.620)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.620) out of 10 for Stepping Stones Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.620 for Stepping Stones Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (200 Excellents x 5) + (46 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (9 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 263 Ratings = 4.62
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Stepping Stones Nursery is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 number of registered child places is 9, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
