We relocated to Manchester last year and we were impressed with the homely feel of the nursery. The staff are exceptional and all go out of their way to make you feel welcome.


Our daughter flourished and within weeks was able to put her coat and shoes on. The teaching and learning is outstanding

and staff are constantly introducing new activities.


The facilities are very well organised, tidy and clean and our daughter loves being outside in the garden.


Tapestry is used by the nursery, so you can view progress, next steps and photos of what your child has done in the day.


Our daughter loves nursery and has made great friends and bonds with staff. We have been so impressed with the nursery that we have also enrolled our son.


As a teacher myself, I can see the commitment and genuine love for children that the staff have. The manager and owner are very approachable. We would whole heartedly recommend Holly Tree to everyone - it will give your child the best start possible.

I hold Holly Tree in very high regard. From the moment the door is opened in the morning to collection time later, the staff are friendly, welcoming and professional. I have 2 children at the nursery who enjoy going - their personal development has been excellent. Even though we moved house further
away, we chose to drive the extra distance so that our children could continue attending Holly Tree. I have never had cause for complaint and would highly recommend this nursery!

Cannot fault this nursery. The space and resources are great but the practitioners, in particular, are amazing! I have complete trust that my daughter is safe and well cared for when away from me which as a new parent was very daunting at first - but within no time I could clearly see how she was thriving
in the environment. She has come on tremendously since attending with her speech in particular (I get so many other parents telling me how great her speech is and I know nursery has a huge part to play in that). During a difficult transition period, the manager herself went above and beyond and spent time with my daughter every morning at drop off as well as her key worker creating a little familiar book for us to discuss at home. Within no time she completely settled which meant no more tears for mummy! I honestly can't thank the nursery enough for everything they do for my daughter and would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you, Holly Tree! x

I have had 2 children attend Holly Tree and I honestly cannot fault it. My son is now at school and I had no hesitation in sending my daughter to Holly Tree. The staff at the nursery are wonderful, unlike some nurseries the turnover of staff is very low so there are members of staff who have been there
for a number of years which says a lot. It is a small nursery so every member of staff knows every child, this makes room transitions very smooth and gives the nursery a lovely homely feel. The staff always keep you informed and provide a full handover at the end of each day. The Montessori method of learning is such a great way to teach young children and my daughter has thrived, she is super confident, independent and absolutely loves going to nursery. The activities that the nursery provide for the children are very varied, the outside play area is lovely with lots of different areas to explore and a forest school, my son still talks about the garden at Holly Tree to this day!

I have seen my granddaughter excel in so many ways, being able to complete tasks I do not think a three-year-old could do. She is really supported at this nursery and achieved many things. She seems to really enjoy it here and all the care givers are always very warm and friendly. They have lots of
meetings and also times where we as grandparents have been able to attend different events and be involved in reading stories to the children and seeing what happens in the nursery. This is a lovely thing to be able to do.

Holly Tree is a fantastic nursery. It took us looking at many different nurseries but we fell in love with this nursery straight away. The teachers are very supportive and kind. I specially chose Holly Tree as it was a Montessori nursery and travel a little for my daughter to attend and it is worth
every minute. I can not imagine my daughter being looked after any better, and the Montessori aspect ingrained very well within this nursery and continues to be developed and improved. Her needs are met very well and the teacher parent communication is fantastic. I feel supported as much as my daughter, especially through tough transitions. The relationship that is built and the atmosphere within this nursery is second to none.

Sending your child to a nursery is a daunting prospect for most parents. Particularly when you are going back to work. Our little boy has been at Holly Tree since he was 8 months old. They helped him and me settle into the nursery. On my first day back at work I felt like I was leaving him in safe,
loving hands.


I am continually impressed with Holly Tree. They provide a wonderful range of activities for the baby. I feel that I am kept informed of my little boy's day to day activities and ongoing development. The menu and food is very impressive and my little one has tried so many new flavours.


I can't speak highly enough of Holly Tree. My son is always so excited every morning when I drop him off and I go to work knowing he is in great hands.

On visiting prospective nurseries for my daughter, we felt at home straight away at Holly Tree. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and homely. As we looked around, every member of staff took the time to say hello personally and took an interest in my daughter. When it came to settling my daughter in,
the nursery was happy to suggest and provide as many settling-in sessions as she needed to feel comfortable. The staff are always warm, friendly and kind and show genuine interest and care for my daughter. I am confident and happy to have her spend time at Holly Tree. Staff are highly conscientious in recording her activities, both in her take-home book and on the online platform.
I can understand why this nursery has received an 'Outstanding' assessment from Ofsted and would not hesitate to recommend this nursery.

It is a lovely nursery, I was really apprehensive as all parents are but the settling in period made me feel a lot happier about leaving him.
They did lots of settling in sessions before I left him for the full day, they always found time to fit him into more sessions if he was unsettled.
The girls
who work there are all very friendly and are happy for you to sit in at first and always update you with anything your child has done, they send home photos, drawings and update Tapestry regularly.


The building itself is like a large house, it feels very homely there are not many children in each room, the garden area is small but nicely done with lots of fun messy activities and a garden room which is used by all the children. I would highly recommend this nursery.

Here are some facts why I would highly recommend Holly Tree:
Love the Montessori method which gives my son a great confidence and independence. After starting nursery within two weeks he learned how to put his coat on by himself. I have been visited quite a few nurseries before and ONLY at Holly Tree
children changes their outside shoes to inside ones! I always feel that my child is genuinely welcomed into the setting and his home culture is valued. Staff respect our "family custom" allowing my son to wave at the window when we leave.
Staff are extremely supporting children with English as an additional language. When our son was settling in they played Hungarian songs on youtube to hear some familiar sounds. Regular updates on his progress and excellent communication both online and personal. I like the fact that they seem to invest money back into the nursery with the forestry school and new kitchen. When you visit the nursery you will notice a fresh bunch of flowers every time. I love them!

My daughter has attended Holly Tree since April 2015 and I would whole-heartedly recommend it. The nursery feels calm, homely and friendly and the small class sizes help to create a lovely environment which never feels overwhelming. The staff are fantastic- they are clearly motivated and passionate
about what they do and always take the time to make sure the children are settled and happy during the handover. We've also been impressed by how the staff are supported in their personal development. Although we didn't know that much about the Montessori ethos before our daughter started the more we learn the more impressed we are and the benefits are clear. Each room has lovely resources for the children to enjoy and to encourage their learning and development and the Forrest room and outside space is also fantastic spaces. The food is also healthy and nutritious and I credit nursery with helping my difficult to wean daughter to develop a healthy and happy appetite!

Holly Tree's Ofsted status as an outstanding provider (no mean feat!)
is well deserved. The nursery is very well equipped with carefully selected, stimulating resources and the curriculum is diverse and follows the children's interests. I have been so pleased to see that my child has been engaged,
on a daily basis, in activities which encourage his creativity - exploring natural materials and textures, music making and experimenting with messy play. There is a warm, welcoming atmosphere in the nursery thanks to a group of staff who are just fantastic and clearly love their job! The 'settling in period', which can be as difficult for parents as for children, was so smooth for us. Our son loves everyone at Holly Tree! Staff take the time to really get to know each family and there are effective systems of communication with parents (through facebook updates, email and home-school diaries!). We cannot recommend this nursery highly enough! A beautiful, OUTSTANDING nursery!

As a first time father, choosing the right nursery for our child was a huge decision. At 7 months old we wanted her to have some level of independence and so sought out somewhere for her to spend a couple of mornings a week. After an extensive round of visits to local nurseries we opted for Holly Tree,
and have never looked back on the decision.
We were keen to find somewhere with Montessori techniques, and whilst some places offer this we found Holly Tree to be best able to explain the benefits and demonstrate how integral it is to nursery life. We've seen our daughter grow in confidence over the last few months, and she always enters the nursery with a huge smile as she's happy to see the staff and other children. She eats well, with healthy fresh food prepared at every meal and enjoys the mix of learning and play. The nursery give us daily updates on her progress, and share pictures of her enjoying the day. We'd recommend Holly Tree in a heartbeat.

As a first-time mum having looked round various other nursery settings, I instantly knew Holly Tree would be right for us when we looked around and met the staff. Previously our son had been looked after in a home setting and we were instantly reassured with the care and attention put into his settling
in sessions.
The staff and management team are very helpful answering all our questions. The learning journey app Tapestry is fantastic and as a parent makes you feel part of the nursery activities and allows us to continue on this journey at home. The outside is a little small, but extremely well laid out. We are really happy with our nursery choice, even though we were unable to get the day we required.

I have a 2-year-old son at Holly Tree and his big brother also attended but is now at school. I looked around loads of nurseries when choosing the nursery and this one was way better. The children were happy and calm, the premises very clean, the space in was used really well and I wasn't rushed round
so I was able to ask all my questions. I really liked the Montessori teaching methods and child-led learning; it has proved a great way to get my boys to be independent, confident little people.
The staff are excellent and give parents plenty of information in lots of ways: Daily sheets, handover chats, newsletters and a great Learning Journey App called Tapestry where photos and videos are uploaded. The menus are great, they try way more things at nursery than at home! The pre-school class is excellent preparation for school. The nursery welcomes parents' views and ideas so you really feel you are a part of the nursery.

My son has attended Holly Tree for just over a year now and I am not sure who loves it more, me or him!
I feel thought planning and imagination is put into the activities that the children participate in and is often centered around a theme such as occupations, Olympics etc, every day the children
seem to be doing something new which is educational, engaging and fun for them all. He gets dropped off in a morning, with a smile on his face when going into the nursery and picked up with a smile on his face after enjoying another great day there. I think that the staff really understand my son, his personality and encourage his learning, play and independence. Another element of the nursery that I have been particularly pleased about is the fact that they seem to invest money back into it with the forestry school, the kitchen and other smaller things all for the benefit of the children. The staff are caring and genuinely love working with children. All in all a truly fantastic nursery.

Holly Tree is an exceptional nursery and provides the best possible environment, helping to develop confident, sociable, happy children with enthusiasm for life and learning.
Staff genuinely love and care for the children, create a calm, happy atmosphere, and present endless opportunities to learn
and develop. Play equipment is excellent and encourages appropriate progression. Children learn independence and support and respect their peers and gain a wide-ranging awareness and knowledge.


There is a challenging, interesting outdoor area and lots of messy creative play and the home-made food is lovely. Communication with parents/carers is excellent, with comprehensive daily feedback and IT based 'Tapestry' where parents and staff input information to build a detailed picture of the child's development.


There is continuity of care, with consistent staffing and excellent progression support as children move through the nursery. A truly outstanding nursery.

It's always bittersweet leaving a little child at nursery, but over the time my son has been here, he's settled in really well. The nursery is well organised and good records are kept to help the children progress. They spend time outside when possible, and there is a generally calm atmosphere which
is very reassuring. The staff are excellent and have a good connection with the children. They have a caring and attentive manner that helps the children get over any wobbles on arrival. On a few occasions, I've walked into the room to collect my son and he hasn't even noticed because he was having too much fun playing, which is also reassuring. Like many nurseries I expect, things get quite busy at peak collection times, but the staff handle this well. Having never gone myself as a child, I had misgivings about my son attending nursery, but I am pleased to say that the experience we have had here has made me feel much better.

Holly tree is such a lovely calm, friendly and happy environment. My eldest daughter recently left to start school after 3 years at Holly Tree and couldn't have been better prepared physically, emotionally and socially for this transition.
The team are fantastic and the size of the nursery means the
staff know all the children. I love seeing and hearing about all the fun activities they get up to and seeing all the happy little faces every day. Tapestry keeps you up to date with your child's learning and experiences and also helps link activities at home and in the nursery.
The garden is fantastic with lots of opportunities to explore and learn, both inside and outside of the lovely new forest school classroom.
Food is also fantastic....the chef seems to be able to get my children to eat double servings of foods that they wouldn't touch at home (even if I try calling it "superhero" soup too!). He also does a great bbq for family events :)
I would recommend without hesitation.

A haven amongst the chaos of life. My daughter started at Holly Tree just after I lost my mum and the whole team just became part of our lives like they'd been there all along.
The size of the classes means everything feels that bit more personal and special. The use of the online diary means even
though you always get a hand over you also get pictures and videos and info which give you a connection to your child's day which is unimaginable.
My child is only in 1 day a week but I still feel that they are always so happy to see her and that she's just as big a part of the class as any other child.
Her behaviour, the skills she's learned, her eating and drinking and her confidence has come on leaps and bounds. The "work cycle" time is phenomenal to see how quickly she learns in and the garden is my idea of kid heaven.
I don't want to sound too over the top but I never realised until we moved house and I have had to research a new day care, just how much of a diamond we found.
