Shine A Light Day Nursery

Both of my children love coming to Shine a Light nursery. The manager has really created a home away from home. All the staff are lovely and feel like family. My children have blossomed in their care, and they absolutely adore their key workers. It is a pleasure sending them here, and I never feel worried they aren't happy, having fun or well taken care of. Thank you so much.

My child has been attending this nursery for a few months now, and I couldn’t imagine her going anywhere else. The staff are absolutely amazing. They go above and beyond to ensure that my child is happy and to update us as parents on how my child’s day is going, which I believe is so important. Additionally, the staff are genuinely very caring, and I believe they look after the children as if they’re their own. It melts my heart when I see the photos they send to me via the parent app, as I can see just how much fun she is having and what activities she is getting on with. The food that is cooked is all homemade and healthy. I can see from the updates that my child eats most of the food, which is evidence that it also tastes great! You can see that management really does look after their staff here, and are always developing them. I think this is very important, as happy staff members have better mental well-being, which contributes to a healthy working environment. 10/10.

We absolutely love our nursery. Our little boy started in January, due to extended furlough after my maternity leave, we had to drop his hours due to finances, and the team couldn't have been more helpful in discussing all the options for changed schedules with us so we could keep him there and what was available. Since he started, he has absolutely blossomed with an amazing character. He loves all the staff and even has a best friend, who he'll be moving up to his next room, and it's just amazing the developmental changes he's achieved while at nursery and what he's then been motivated to try at home too. Thank you all so much!

Sending my little one to nursery has always been one of my biggest worries, especially when it became apparent he had additional needs. My main concern was him not being understood, included and accepted. The staff in his rooms have been amazing, and have done what they can to support myself and my little one. Throughout lockdown, we were kept updated, and the nursery was only a message or a phone call anyway if we needed them. It's been great to see a brand new nursery go from strength to strength and fill up with lots of happy faces! The support and communication from my little ones keyworker is amazing. We have been welcomed with open arms by all staff and would definitely recommend it. The staff are like one big family, and this shines through in the rooms with the children, and the relationships between staff and children are amazing!

Shine A Light is the best nursery for my little boy; he has only been there about 2-weeks, but I can already see how much he has improved thanks to his key person and the other practitioners! The Baby room is so welcoming, looks and feels so cosy! There is a lot of choices, so can explore lots of different resources/activities every day!

The managers are so kind as well, always available for a chat and quick to help with any issues I may have! I'm so glad I found Shine A Light for him, as I couldn't imagine him anywhere else!

It’s a relatively new nursery but it’s absolutely brilliant! All the workers are really nice and my son has settled in so well and become such a better little boy. Thank you very much Shine A Light nursery you should be very proud 10/10.

Everybody is demonstrating high standards of childcare. I never ever see them without a charming smile in their face. Very systematic and working very hard towards the development of each child. Very much approachable and welcoming. I am very sure that each child is very well cared for. Another thing that I noticed is individual attention to each kid and trying to understand their background and promote growth in all aspects. I really recommend Shine A Light.

I can't recommend this nursery enough and my son is very happy here! The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Our son is happy to be left and always excited to go. I would recommend this nursery to anyone.

Sending my daughter here really is one of the best decisions I’ve made, her development has exceeded my expectations since starting. We’ve been going to this nursery since the day it opened and it’s gone from strength to strength over the year, the communication (even through lockdown) has been amazing and puts us parents at ease. There aren’t many people who I would trust with my child but every single member of staff here I would without a second thought.

I am overwhelmed with how amazing this nursery is, the staff are exceptional, the premises are clean and safe, my son cannot wait to get up and come into nursery and I am completely at ease leaving him there. I trust every staff member completely and would highly recommend to anyone.

My son transferred to Shine A Light after being in lockdown for nearly 6 months. We were initially worried him settling in but it was clear after just the visit that it was definitely the place for him. He didn't want to leave! He looks forward to going everyday which is amazing for him! The staff are all super friendly and really get involved, we love all the personal touches and how we are always made to feel welcome. My son has settled in amazingly and we have seen a massive change in his communication and interaction with people outside the family. We couldn't recommend Shine A Light more!

Amazing place, I am having such a great experience with them it’s like home to home care. Sometimes I think she enjoys nursery more than home. Different actives every day and some great ideas. Great friendly staff who love the kids.

After struggling to settle in a different nursery, we took the decision to change. From day one at Shine A Light, our daughter was more than happy to be left and even got excited when we told her where she was going. We had six months of screaming when dropping off at the other nursery. Result. The staff are so welcoming and very accommodating with our daughter’s list of allergies. Days appear to be well structured with fun activities that encourage progress and learning without being forceful. Staff also go out of their way to pass the time of day when collecting, with some comments about what’s been going on through the day, not just a 'yeah she’s been fine'. They are obviously passionate and diligent in their roles. Absolutely no hesitation in saying this is the best nursery around here.
