I currently have 2 children at the nursery, one in the preschool and one in the baby room. My children both thoroughly enjoy their days at nursery, spend lots of time playing outside (the nursery has a lovely 'trim trail' for the older children to climb and play on) and are provided with well-considered
and planned activities to help with development. They both have a key person assigned to them, who they absolutely love and have great bonds with.
There is a menu displayed at the entrance each day so we can see what their meals will be and they always have lovely nutritious and varied meals (which smell amazing when we arrive each morning!).
Communication with parents is very good - this includes photos and updates on the app each day, plus a lovely detailed report at the end of term. We also get a newsletter each month detailing activities and events going on in the nursery. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery to anyone!

Both of our children have been at this nursery, and we have seen it change over the years. In recent months, particularly with the addition of a teacher in preschool, our daughter has flourished and is more than ready for school.

Brilliant nursery and lovely staff, everyone at Old Crofts Bank Nursery School has helped our daughter, from when she started as a baby, to grow into a mature and kind young lady, ready and prepared for primary school. Our daughter loves coming home and telling us about her day at the nursery and can't

We love Old Crofts Bank, the new staff have been a great addition to all the original best, especially my child's keyworker. The outside space is great and the reason why we chose the nursery, but the overall care for the children is of the highest standard.

My daughter started at Old Crofts Bank in January and the team could not have been more helpful. The nursery worked hard to reassure us as parents and to help our baby settle in quickly. They keep us up to date on all of her developments and know her really well. The team are very kind and knowledgeable
and my daughter loves her nursery days. I would thoroughly recommend this nursery, I feel my daughter is in very safe and caring hands.

My daughter has attended the nursery from baby room to preschool class. She has developed so much and loves her friends. The staff are amazing so much skill, patience and knowledge with children. The manager has turned the nursery around.

My little girl has been coming here since September 2022 and is always happy to see everyone, especially when her key worker comes in. All the staff go out of their way to make every child and parent feel welcome, which reassures me that she's in good hands.

Feeling emotional today as I drop my grandson off for the last time at Old Crofts Bank Day Nursery. Why did we choose this nursery? It has maintained a good reputation in the area over many years. Despite the anxiety around starting a child during a lockdown, we felt reassured by the consistently calm,
warm, and friendly staff. I can honestly say they have smiled through what must have been the most challenging of times. There are some excellent practitioners at Old Crofts Bank. They provide a stimulating environment both inside and outdoors, the food is tasty, and child safety is paramount. The e log provides a fascinating and reassuring glimpse into your little ones day. They have gone above and beyond to meet the additional needs of our grandson, and we will be forever grateful for this. Thanks to their endless patience, flexibility and empathy, he has made excellent progress with them and they have been the first vital step in his educational journey.

My daughter has settled really well into the nursery and that’s thanks to the care and attention of all the staff. There are different learning through play activities each day which help her to build confidence, skills and knowledge. The food menu is great, varied and nutritious.

We are really happy with the quality of care provided at Old Crofts Bank. We looked at multiple nurseries before choosing and this was the only one that had comments about and felt like a home from home. The staff are approachable and have fantastic relationships with the children. Our son absolutely
loves nursery and often doesn't want to leave at the end of the day! I couldn't recommend them enough.

I have nothing but praise for all the staff that look after my son, he has been at the nursery since he was 1 year old and has done nothing but thrive since then. The effort that goes into his care and development is brilliant. He loves going to nursery and always has lots to say about what he's been
up to every day.
My daughter also attended here from 2 years old until she started school and settled in straight away. The nursery has always felt like a second home to us all and I highly recommend it to anyone.

My daughter has just started at Old Crofts Bank Day Nursery & Pre-school and she seems to absolutely love it!
This is my second child at the nursery and I only have good things to say. All the staff are lovely and approachable. They take care of the children as if they were their own.
My eldest
enjoyed it there for 4 years and my youngest has just started and they have made the transition for her very easy.
The meals they provide are varied and healthy.
They do lots of fun activities all day every day
Communication is great either in person or via the app.
I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone.

I had been looking at different nurseries since last year for my son. I was recommended Old Crofts Bank Nursery by a friend. My child was immediately comfortable and content. My daughter is 2 and started at Old Crofts Bank Day Nursery & Pre-school at the beginning of January.
I wasn’t sure how she would settle as she has never spent much time away from me due to the pandemic and I have been lucky enough to be able to work from home.
The nursery were great and offered settling
in sessions where I could stay to let her settle into her surroundings.
I need not have worried as she has taken to Old Crofts Bank great. She attends 2 days a week and on the days she’s not in she is asking to go and see her friends at nursery.
The app is great to see what she has been getting up to each day and she always comes out with a big smile and can’t wait to tell me what she has been up to.
The staff are lovely and my daughter is very comfortable with them and always goes in with a smile in the morning.
I would recommend old crofts bank to anyone, it is like a home away from home for my little one I couldn’t be happier.

Sarah Austin

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2023

Having obtained her Level 3 qualification at college, Sarah embarked on a career in childcare that has spanned nearly 30 years. Over the years, she has accumulated invaluable experience but also expanded her knowledge by completing a Level 5 qualification in leadership and management for early years and young people. Sarah is also the proud mother of four children.


For the past nine years, Sarah has been an early years manager, and she finds lots of joy in collaborating with parents to ensure that children get the best possible start in life.
