The nursery has access to Heaton Park where children enjoy going for walks, looking at the animals and feeding the ducks.
The nursery has 7 playrooms over 3 floors these are generously proportioned, carefully planned and extensively resourced to create inspiring learning environments, where children are able to access a wide range of activities based around their interests.
The nursery also has access to a large enclosed outdoor space where children can explore the natural environment on the grassed area or ride a bike on the painted road. The large castle and outdoor equipment allow plenty of outdoor adventures.
An experienced and skilled staff team have many years of continuous service and work with children and parents in an enthusiastic, supportive manner encouraging every child’s growth and development. The nursery has a full time qualified teacher and one of the senior staff has an early years professional status.

We've been incredibly impressed with the highly skilled staff at Holyrood Nursery Prestwich. Our child is one and a half years old and has attended since 9 months old so the review relates to the various baby groups.

We've been incredibly impressed with the highly skilled staff at Holyrood Nursery Prestwich. Our child is one and a half years old and has attended since 9 months old so the review relates to the various baby groups. Staff give detailed updates at the end of each day as to our child's development and the parentzone app is generally well utilised. Highlights of our day are seeing the various 'moments' of him playing during the day and the consistency of nursery has helped him get into a good sleep pattern. Parents evenings are held for a more formal update of how our child is progressing against early years development and we have valued the feedback from nursery as to areas they are focussing on within a term so we can also encourage at home.
Some improvements could be made by the central administration around communication and presentation of billing but this is not in the control of the Prestwich branch specifically

We have found that there are some exceptional staff members throughout Holyrood Day Nursery, particularly in toddler room 1. They have a great understanding of the children's needs, even intuitive understanding. I feel my son is not only cared for but loved by the staff in toddler 1. I have yet to experience the staff members but, so far my experience has been great.
I also feel that the nursery manager is excellent too. She values what parents think, and she is always looking to improve on how the nursery is run.

As a first time mum the whole idea of preschool/nursery was alien to me - yet from the first email enquiry/telephone conversation, right through to the settling in days/starting at Holyrood, every single member of staff has put me at ease by, not only being friendly and professional, but seeing how they interact with the children and each other. I viewed all the 'big name' nurseries in the area when my son was born, but none gave me the homely feeling that Holyrood did, and in the end, it was that feeling that won. It may not be as 'finely polished' as some places, but what it does have is a fantastic outside area that the kids use in all weathers, it has an incredible team of staff (young and old) and it is very much a 'take me as you find me' preschool which that meant I could view the nursery with and without my family and it wasn't set up for my arrival. My son has blossomed since joining Holyrood, the support and nurture he receives is apparent in all of his new developing skills. I never hear unhappy children when I'm there and that is reassuring in itself - it is a Happy Place!
