The Cottage Nursery

The nursery staff are wonderful and caring and cannot do enough for our daughter. The added items such as French, music and the rabbits are appreciated to give her a well rounded start and to help teach her life skills and we know we would not get this at other nurseries. The odd after-hours film nights are a great resource for us to get some peace and we know our daughter also enjoys them too.

My little daughter started the nursery in July 2021. She was 9 months and I was extremely anxious about this new step of our life. The Cottage nursery helped me to manage my anxiety and they were there for me and my little one, every time I had a doubt or I was seeking advice on how to manage some of the transition time. My daughter fitted in the room quickly and comfortably, she absolutely loves to go to the nursery and the staff are caring and have a very nurturing approach. I love how they support her with their autonomy and how they care for her emotional wellbeing. The education offered is fantastic. I'm happy about my choice and I believe I couldn't find another nursery in which my daughter would be as happy to be a part of.

My son always looks excited and happy whenever I come to pick him up from the nursery. The staff are warm and always give a detailed description of what he has been up to for the day. I must also commend the staff on how they were able to manage the nursery earlier this year (2022) when the COVID cases were increasing. The nursery manager kept us all in the loop on best practices and strategies they were taking to ensure the nursery runs safely and in accordance to PHE guidance. My son now babbles a lot and he is so happy to have started walking. I would recommend The Cottage Nursery.

My daughter attends the nursery and I can honestly say she has come on hugely since attending. She is always happy when collected, showing me how much she is enjoying her time there. The staff are always going out of their way to make you feel included in your child's day. Hats off to the staff and management.

Our daughter has attended The Cottage Nursery since she was 6 months old. She absolutely loves it and is absolutely thriving now at 18 months old. I love seeing all the activities on the parents' app and getting reports of what she’s been eating and up to! Highly recommended nursery with such wonderful staff. The nursery director goes over and above to ensure all the children and staff are all well looked after.

I can't speak highly enough of the Cottage nursery. The staff are brilliant! The children are always their main priority and it's clear to see. From the way our daughter is greeted in the morning, to the report we get every evening. The last 18 months have been tough for everyone but the Cottage had an obvious consideration for what parents were experiencing and did everything to protect the children and keep the nursery open at the same time. I can't imagine that every nursery is the same and we value what they do so much.

My daughter has been at The Cottage Nursery full time for 16 months and we have been extremely impressed with the care she receives from all of the staff. From when she started in the baby room, everyone has been so warm and friendly welcoming my daughter and us. She genuinely seems to thrive here and has grown into a happy and confident 2-year-old. There are a number of classes that are taught and activities and photos are regularly shared. Communication is excellent from the management to every individual in each of the rooms. Throughout the pandemic, the staff have gone above and beyond and we are extremely grateful for this. We had previously used a well-respected local nursery for my son but have found The Cottage to be fantastic and overall are much happier with this choice. We also find that the nursery is really good value, it has flexibility to have term time places so my daughter can be off with her older brother for all school holidays. Highly recommended.

My daughter started at the nursery in September 2021 and has now moved up to the Prep 1 Junior Class. When she started we explained to the nursery that we were waiting for assistance in relation to her speech and was there anything they could do to help as well. I can say they have been going above and beyond for her giving her a special work plan of her own and also contacting the local authority to try and help move along the external help. All of the staff from the management to the people in the rooms are brilliant. They are efficient and respond to enquiries really quickly nothing is too much trouble. My daughter has come on so much since she started and I love the regular parents' app updates to see how much fun she is having.

Lovely nursery. The staff are so friendly, especially in the baby room. They went out of their way to settle my second baby and were really reassuring. Both my children have settled really well there, and my eldest still knows everyone a year on from leaving. Fabulous photo updates on the parents' app and a nursery camera so you don’t miss your babies too much in those early days. Loads of classes like Tiny Talk, Jo Jingles, Lingo Tots, which for lockdown children gives them exposure to classes they may not have had as a baby. Nothing like this in any other local nursery. We drive an extra 30 minutes just because we love the nursery so much. Lots of investment into the building recently, and a lovely mindfulness room has been installed. They try their best to cater for allergy babies. A bit more could be done to make the food for the allergy babies the same as the non-allergy babies, but other than that, I couldn’t fault them! Excellent nursery all round.

Our son has been at the Cottage since he was 1. He's really well settled and loves his nursery family - really lovely staff with lots of varieties of activities each day. He's made friends for life and we will be so sad to say goodbye when he heads off to school soon. It can be really hard to leave them at first and staff recognised this and used to send updates in the morning to let me know he had settled, which meant a lot when initial drop offs were tearful. He now runs in happily!

Couldn’t be happier with the Nursery. The attention that our daughter gets and her progress is unbelievable. She was inseparable from Mum, but now can’t wait to go to Nursery, pointing to the door to leave, arms out for the teacher on drop-off. Would recommend it to anyone.

I had a pleasant experience when enrolling my son at this nursery. The staff were interested in my son's needs and were very accommodating and flexible. The quality of care he has received since he enrolled, has been excellent and I am very pleased.

My son has been attending this nursery since me and his mum returned to work and has loved every minute. He absolutely adores his key person and we are always kept updated on his progress as well as regular online picture observations. My son has come on so well since nursery and I know he has a fun day every day. My son is delayed in his walking and the staff have worked so hard getting him moving. I cannot thank the staff and management team at the Cottage nursery enough.

My son has been at The Cottage from 8 months old and attends 4 days a week. I don't have a bad word to say about this place. We looked at other nurseries but from walking through the door, we decided this was the place for us. The staff are amazing, the amount of attention given to the children is second to none. Nothing is too much trouble and the communication/updates are great! It makes us happy seeing his smiley face at the end of his day!

My child has attended the nursery now for just over a year and I can honestly say it was the best decision I made sending her to The Cottage! From the moment we had our initial look round we felt so welcome and part of a family. The nursery is managed extremely well and the level of communication is outstanding. The staff are warm, friendly and caring and know my child inside out, nothing is ever too much trouble. The nursery offers so much from Music and French lessons to Gym and Dance sessions. We love that the nursery has pets as being busy working parents we don’t have pets of our own so it’s great that she gets to learn how to look after and care for the animals. The new addition of the Mindfulness room and roof garden is fantastic and such a lovely space for all the children to enjoy. I cannot recommend this nursery enough.

Being a first-time mum and returning back to work is very hard. My first visit to the nursery made me feel so comfortable and put my mind at ease. I know when I drop off my child in the morning that they are well looked after. All the staff go the extra mile to accommodate our needs. My child has come on a long way since they have started. Every single member of staff are so welcoming and they really create bonds with your child.

Both our children have attended the nursery and I can honestly say the experience with both children is second to none. Our youngest is currently there and the staff care, interaction and educational experience are excellent in all areas. I wouldn’t hesitate to fully recommend the nursery to any parents considering them.

We absolutely love The Cottage Nursery! Our two boys have attended since they were 7 months old and are about to turn two. Over this time, they have been stretched and challenged with both their social skills as well as their Early Years education to become well rounded little toddlers, ready to embark on their next learning adventures. They’ve thrived in a supportive environment where the staff have nurtured their interests. With a broad range curriculum, they have enjoyed learning languages, music, plenty of messy and imaginative play, playing with the rabbits, and outdoor play. The updates about their learning experiences and wellbeing on the parents' app have made parenting through a pandemic much easier, even more so, as we were new parents. Our next little boy is due to start later this year and I couldn’t be more reassured about the supportive and nurturing environment he will be joining. It’s more than a nursery - it’s an extended family. I’d recommend the nursery unreservedly.

When selecting a nursery we visited every nursery in the area. From the moment we walked into The Cottage Nursery, we knew this was the right place for our daughter to attend. Everyone was so welcoming and they seemed to be very focused on not only education but each child as an individual and their personal development. My daughter has now been attending the nursery for the past two months, and she adores all of her teachers. It took her two weeks to transition, as she was just used to spending every day with me. During the two weeks, the teachers were so patient and really catered to her emotions, ensuring she knew she was in a safe loving environment. Since week 3, she gets so excited when we pull up to the nursery and dives into the arms of the teacher at the door. She leaves every day with a giant smile and bags of excitement, showing us her sheet which records the best moment of her day.

The Cottage has a much more warm and friendly feel than the other nurseries we looked around. We are so pleased we chose for our son to go there. He’s come on leaps and bounds since attending. The staff have been supportive throughout all stages of his development (including potty training) and during personal problems, we’ve faced. Our son is very happy there and even asks to go at weekends! I feel they’ve handled the covid restrictions admirably. Get your name down early as places come up rarely!
