The aim at Stepping Stones Day Nursery Nottingham is to provide a secure, stimulating and caring environment, which will encourage your child to develop to their maximum potential whilst in a happy and homely atmosphere, this will then give your child the opportunity to freely express themselves through play and experience a variety of activities.

Stepping Stones Day Nursery Nottingham accepts children from the age of 6 weeks to 8 years and can provide registration for children up to 8 years for summer clubs if required.

Stepping Stones is located just two minutes walk from the Nottingham High School Tram Stop and five minutes walk from the City centre.

It accepts all forms of childcare vouchers as well as offering places on the 'Two Year Early Learning Programme' (Free 15 hours for children entitled to aged two) and both the 15 and 30 hour 'Education Grant' programme for children aged three and above. From September 2024 Stepping Stones is also accepting the new funding introduced by the government which gives children aged 9 month plus 15 hours a week of funded childcare.

I don’t usually write reviews, but honestly, words cannot explain how thankful I am for the staff that was caring for my daughter for nearly 3-years here. My daughter was genuinely the girl that didn’t want to come home because she loved it so much here. She built a good relationship with pretty much
all the staff members and learnt a lot indirectly through play. Every night she would come home and tell me all the exciting things she did and learnt and was so happy to go back the next day. I visited a lot of nurseries before finally deciding on Stepping Stones, and it was the best decision I made. I’ve recommended and will continue to recommend Stepping Stones Day Nursery.

Even if because of a change of circumstances I had to move my son to another nursery, and even been short time there; it was a very helpful and very good experience for us. The communication from the nursery is brilliant as they regularly update you on the progress your child makes.
I am pleased with how the children are encouraged to be independent and the different activities they get involved in. Overall, everyone is genuinely friendly and welcoming.

Both my girls attended Stepping Stones Day Nursery in different years, however, the nursery maintained the same quality, staff are brilliant and attentive. I never felt worried about leaving the children because I knew they were looked after. Nothing but positive comments, and definitely recommend it
to other people.

I would recommend Stepping Stones to any parents in a heartbeat. My little boy has been attending since he was around 9-months-old and he is now 4. He has amazing attachments to lots of the staff, speaks very highly of the catering manager (and has repetitively told me that my cooking isn’t as good
as hers!), and loves all of the activities that he gets to do. He has such an amazing imagination, which is encouraged by the nursery staff, who I feel really know him and his quirks.

My son has attended this nursery since he was 6-months-old and is now due to have his last day (at nearly 5-years-old). Throughout the entire time, he has been attending this nursery, the care he has received has been exceptional. The staff make a real effort to get to know and understand your little
one (and all of their quirks). For example, my son had a comforter, and they were sure to remember the comforters name and when he was likely to need it. As a single mum (and this is my first child), the nursery staff have always supported me in supporting the needs of my child too, providing extra advice and guidance when I need it, and even supporting me with external referrals. Every day that I drop him off, I know that he is being cared for, loved and supported. It's extremely easy to book additional sessions when I need them, and the nursery grounds are well kept and secure. Highly recommend this nursery!

My child has recently started this nursery last week, and the staff have been so helpful in settling her into the room and giving her plenty of cuddles to make her feel better.
They have been taking pictures for me to see how she has been throughout the day and always call me if they need to ask me
something. All my child has known is lockdown, so I was very shocked to see how she has settled in so well to the nursery.
Thank you to all staff who look after her; your extra effort doesn't go unnoticed.

Both my children have attended Stepping Stones and have recommended them to others. The staff are all amazing and helpful, from nursery teachers to the front desk and the office/management. My child has a strong bond with his teachers, and he always looks forward to going to nursery. The communication

Stepping Stones has turned my shy, speech delayed boy, into a chatty, bright and outgoing child. Their staff go above and beyond to help your child in any way possible. He has loved every minute of his time here and always had something good to say about his day.

Hand on heart, the best nursery I’ve ever come across. My kids have been to 4 different ones in the city, and all have been moved due to the cleanliness and the staff. Never had a problem with this nursery, only positive ones! The nursery is fun, bright, clean and routined. All the children parents
and staff are lovely. I have massive anxiety and settled at ease here. Very secure, surveillance everywhere, and parking onsite, so no need to crossroads. This nursery has always done its best to help me and my babies! I am gutted my son is leaving but overjoyed to have one coming up soon, and one comfortably continuing their time here. I’ve now been offered a place at my son's school nursery for my child attending Stepping Stones and have turned it down due to the preference of it here! Amazing staff, amazing communication, and amazing nursery! Love them all (also nice to see a male nursery nurse, which I’ve never seen before, who is as lovely as the girls).

My daughter went to Stepping Stones day nursery for 4 years, i.e. from baby room to pre-school. She had a great time. Quite pleased with her progress and achieving all her milestones. The nursery staff is amicable, and the quality of food for the children is good quality and nutritious. The outside
area is big for the children to run around.


Because of the excellent education in pre-School, my daughter managed to clear her assessment for a certain High School.


I would highly recommend Stepping Stones Day Nursery & Pre-school to all the parents looking for nurseries for their children. They are fantastic and highly professional.

I honestly can't rate Stepping Stones highly enough. Both my children attended and received fantastic care from start to finish. I went to visit a number of settings when looking for childcare for my eldest, and immediately felt comfortable whilst being shown around. Each room has excellent and age-appropriate
facilities, the staff are extremely knowledgable and genuinely interested in the children and encouraging their learning and development, the food is prepared fresh with lots of variety, the outdoor facilities are lovely, I was kept up to date with my children's progress and asked for my input on creating their next steps etc. I received regular communication via email, and the use of the online portal and any queries were always answered promptly.
Both my children enjoyed their time at Stepping Stones, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. If you're looking for childcare, I would definitely visit the setting; you won't be disappointed!

Lovely place and environment for your kid to grow and learn new things every day, as a result, you have a happy kid coming home every day.
I highly recommend this nursery as it was by far the best one we've been to.
Unfortunately, it is a bit far from our house that's why we have to move our daughter
from, but if not, she would definitely still be going here.

Words can’t describe how happy we were when our son was enrolled in Stepping Stones. He still loves and talks about the time he had spent there with his friends and the professional and friendly staff they had. We compared a lot of nurseries around Nottingham and Stepping Stones always stood first based
on our experience. The owners were always helpful, wonderful people who don’t hesitate to go the extra mile when needed. We both worked full time and were very comfortable leaving him at Stepping Stones and he himself loved going there. Our son is a very confident boy and a lot of it came from this nursery, we would recommend this place to anyone. Special thanks to staff members in blue room 1.
