Partou Scotts Wood Day Nursery & Pre-school has a well-earned reputation as the leading provider of childcare in West Bridgford, offering outstanding care to children aged 3 months to 5 years and are open from 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday - Friday, for 51 weeks of the year (closed during Christmas week).

Located on Selby Road close to West Bridgford town centre and 2 miles from Nottingham Railway Station, the nursery enjoys the benefits of a large character property with airy rooms and an outdoor play area, which the children love and thrive in.

There are separate rooms for babies, toddlers, 2-3 year olds and Pre-School children, furnished with 'age appropriate' toys and resources, ensuring they provide the best standard of care, development and education.

Our daughter has been attending Scotts Wood Day Nursery for over a year now. From when she first started at 8 months old, the staff and environment made us feel comfortable and relaxed, and our daughter settled in straight away. We are always impressed with the activities they do and how engaged the
staff are with the children. They are all really professional but also very caring and really just feel like extended family and have a real investment in how well the children are doing. It is an excellent day nursery, and we would recommend it.

Scotts Wood have been really attentive to my daughter's needs. They've helped her settle in quickly, have listened to her needs, have adjusted her care when requested and done it all smoothly with lots of support. My daughter is very happy here and has already come on with her development, and the team
is absolutely amazing. I am very impressed with the care here and would highly recommend this nursery.

We are so happy with how well our little boy has settled in at Scotts Wood; in just a few months he’s been in the baby room, he’s really flourished.
When we arrive in the morning, as we are walking up to the door, he starts smiling and getting excited once he recognises where he is, and he happily
goes to the staff once we are in, often giving them a cuddle, which is lovely to see and know how content he is.
All of the staff are warm and caring and really take the time to get to know the children and understand what is best for them on an individual basis. Communication is great; we are kept up to date with every aspect of his day, including his food, sleep times and activities.
It really is a home from home, and we would definitely recommend Scotts Wood.

Our son started at Scotts Wood when he was 1 year old. As he was born during the pandemic, we were apprehensive about putting him into a childcare setting. However, everyone at Scotts Wood made it so easy for us. Every single member of staff is friendly, caring and personable. We always felt our son
was absolutely safe and well looked after during his time there.
After about 6 months, our son developed separation anxiety affected nursery drop-off; very stressful for all of us, but the manager and our son's key workers worked closely with us to work through these difficulties, and they truly cared about our son having a settled and enjoyable time at nursery. This meant an awful lot to us.
We are a same-sex family, and our diversity was respected, appreciated and welcomed, which was wonderful.
The nursery itself is well equipped, clean and has a lovely set-up. We are so sad to leave and can’t recommend highly enough.

We've been part of Scotts Wood Day Nursery for 7 years as both of our children have gone through the nursery from baby room to preschool - the youngest has just left. They have been fantastic. The children have been so happy there and so well looked after - would definitely recommend it to other parents.
There are some really great staff who have gone above and beyond to get to know and understand our children and make nursery the happiest place for them and we are so grateful for such a positive start to their education. The nursery is well organised and friendly with great facilities which are always being added to and refreshed. The children's learning is considered in every activity and updates through the EyLog app kept us in the loop, and as parents, we always felt able to share our concerns and felt listened to. Our son joined the baby room at Scotts Wood Day Nursery in March 2022, when he was 6 months old. From the very first settling in sessions in the couple of weeks before he started, we were made to feel really welcome and just knew our precious little boy would be in great hands. Our son’s key person
took plenty of time to get to know him, his preferences and routines, etc. and answer any questions we had. We could see straight away that everyone at Scotts Wood Day Nursery is truly invested in creating a happy, comfortable, safe and inquisitive environment in which children can discover themselves and the world around them, and we have been astounded by how much our little one has flourished in such a short time. We get regular updates on our son’s progress and are invited to input into his development plans. We feel blessed to have found such a wonderful nursery setting to take care of our little boy - he clearly loves being at nursery and all of the staff clearly love having him, thank you Scotts Wood!

Our two boys love going to Scotts Wood. The staff are friendly and capable, and the boys are very fond of them. They always eat well and come back full of stories and tired from all the activity. The updates we get on the app are helpful and interesting as well.

We are extremely pleased with Scott’s Wood and would not hesitate to recommend this nursery to other parents.
We have a 16-month-old who has attended since August. He settled immediately into the baby room and has since moved to the toddler room. Every member of staff has been excellent; great communication,
attentive, caring, planning ahead, and helpful. His development since joining has been noticeable.
The only very minor improvement I can think of is that the gate and walkway to the building could do with upgrading.

Our son attended Scotts Wood full time from 10-months-old and absolutely loved it. Right from the first visit, we got such a great feel for the nursery; the atmosphere is warm and caring, and the staff are dedicated to knowing each child really well to make them feel at home and to effectively support
their learning and development. The pre-school room did a fantastic job of getting our son ready for the transition to school, helping him understand what to expect on a practical level as well as making sure he was used to the style of learning. He leaves excited to take the next step but is going to miss the lovely people he has spent the last three and a half years with, as will we! We would highly recommend the nursery to anyone looking for childcare in the area.

Scotts Wood has been a fantastic nursery for my 4-year-old. He has attended since he was 1 and now is about to start school. From the beginning, they have always been so friendly, welcoming and provided such a safe and comfortable environment for my son, and made me as a parent, feel at ease. Towards
the end of his time at the nursery before starting school, the preschool room has helped with the transition really well. They have provided books for him to read at home, they learn about a wide variety of topics such as different countries, the Olympics and even learning sign language, which my son has loved. They get an introduction to numbers and phonics, which has really helped as preparation for school. My younger son, who is 18-months, also attends the nursery, and I couldn’t recommend it enough to others.

I have had 3 children attend this nursery, my youngest currently attending preschool there.
All 3 children have loved their experiences at this nursery, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly.
The staff are warm, caring, patient, kind and have a genuine love for the children.
When I drop my children
off there in the morning, I am sure that everyone at the nursery does all they can to ensure that they have the best possible day that they can.
My youngest always leaves nursery with a smile on his face.

We cannot fault Scotts Wood Day Nursery. Both our sons attend (eldest since 2017 and youngest since 2020). Both absolutely love attending nursery and have developed deep bonds with the staff that work there.


When we were looking for nurseries, Scotts Wood stood out as the staff were so warm and friendly,

yet it was clear to see that their professionalism and expertise would also provide a great early start to young children's development. Our main priority was that our children would feel happy and safe when placed into childcare, and there is a genuine affection and care for the children from the staff, which we really appreciate; it is like a home away from home for them.


They also provide lovely meals and have a wide range of activities, which they document on an online platform very regularly. We get extensive reports on their development and communication is great, which we have been very grateful for during the pandemic.


We feel very fortunate to have found such a great nursery!

Great staff, professional set-up, a best in class response to the Covid pandemic and a friendly welcoming feel. Would recommend it to anyone. Our twins have been through all age groups within the nursery, apart from the baby room, and will miss it when they head off to school in September.

We've had two children at Scotts Wood (one for the last 3 years, the other for 2) and have been so happy with the care of them both. The staff are all so warm and welcoming to us as parents and the children. The way Scotts Wood have coped with the recent global situation has been admirable, and we've
always felt really comforted that the children are safe and happy there. Our older child is currently in Magic Attic (pre-school), and he loves it - we feel he is getting lots of support and encouragement in preparation for school in September. I would recommend the nursery to anyone and would add that we were so happy with the care our older child received that we put our youngest in from 6-months!

We have had 2 children at Scott’s Wood over the past 4 years, and we continue to be as happy with the care they give as we were when we first started there.
Particularly over the last year, we have been confident that they do everything in their power to keep our children safe whilst ensuring they
can continue to provide an excellent provision.
Both children have progressed amazingly during their time at Scott’s Wood, and it is clear that the activities that are done with all the children are tailored to their individual needs and goals with an aim for them to be ready for school.
Whilst the outdoors space is smaller than some other nurseries, we are always amazed at the creativity used in making it a stimulating and fun environment for the children. We certainly have never thought that anything was lacking, due to this and we have 2 very active children!

Our son has been attending Scott’s Wood since August 2020, and despite the uncertainty in the world, I cannot fault the safety measures put in place to protect everyone.
The staff are wonderful, very caring and are understanding of each child’s needs.
We regularly receive feedback on his development,
and he has learnt so much in the time he has been there.
It’s lovely to see what he gets up during his time at nursery.
The menus are always creative and balanced, our son has tried and enjoyed so many things we wouldn’t have dreamed of serving him.
There is a lovely garden with different activities for the children to enjoy, and with it, backing onto the green line, it is a very peaceful environment.
Going back to work and sending your child to nursery is always an anxious time for anyone, but with our son settling in so quickly thanks to the amazing and caring staff at Scott’s Wood, it made the transition back a lot easier.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Scott’s Wood Nursery.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

I have worked at Scott’s Wood since 2001 and am very proud to be the Manager of such a beautiful and high quality ‘Early Years’ setting. I am committed to further improving our already very high standards, and creating an exceptional ‘Early Years’ experience for babies and young children here in the leafy suburbs of West Bridgford.


Early years has always been my passion and while working here at Scott’s Wood I have completed both a Foundation Degree in Early Years and Education, and BA Honours Degree in Early Childhood Studies and I use my extended knowledge and understanding daily to ensure that we provide the very best environments and experiences for both our children and their parents.
