Kindred Lowdham Nursery and Pre-school occupies a beautiful Georgian house and provides a friendly, home from home environment supported by warm, caring and mature staff that have extensive childcare experience.

The nursery also offers before and after school care for children attending local schools. There is a lovely all-weather outdoor play area with fantastic climbing equipment.

There is also an allotment where the preschool children can grow vegetables. As well as providing all the usual activities quality day nurseries provide, specialist practitioners provide extra special classes - Forest schools, French, Music and Movement and Yoga. The nursery is happy to accept all nursery vouchers and offer Nursery Grant places. All meals are prepared and cooked on the premises.

I really enjoy visiting the nursery, the staff and children are very welcoming. My son is in preschool and loves it.
His favourite thing is parents breakfast, the cook does an amazing job of looking after us with a wide variety of breakfast on the go.
My son loves his nursery dinners.

Having spent 13 months with newborn twins it was time to return to work on a part-time basis and I was looking for a warm, friendly and welcoming nursery to place them. From the moment we stepped inside the nursery I knew it was the one for us!
The baby room where the twins would spend there first
year was so like home from home, there were stimulating toys, twinkling lights, little dens and spaces for them to explore and do messy activities. There was every type of sleeping arrangement available to suit the individual.
The twins have now been there for one month and have settled in really well. They are fed excellent meals, spend the day doing lots of different activities of which they are relevant to the time of the year, last week I brought home hand made Chinese lanterns and today Valentines Day cards with their footprints in!
The care they receive is wonderful and nothing is too much trouble for them. I would definitely recommend.

Alphabet House is a fantastic nursery. We can't fault them, they do go out of their way to help and support. The staff are all great and our children love to go there. There are lots of different activities and learning opportunities and plenty of outdoor play. They have also been very patient and accommodating
with our children's food intolerances.

Our little boy started at Alphabet House in the summer when we moved into the area. He has loved it from the very first day and the staff have been wonderful in helping him (and us) to settle in. We have been very impressed by the caring and nurturing environment and the range of lovely, creative activities.
Communication with parents is excellent and has helped us feel included and confident in leaving our son in their care. Thank you to all staff for their hard work. We are really enjoying watching our son develop and gain confidence in his time with you.

When we moved house I was not looking forward to changing my child's nursery, however, Alphabet House has proved to be the best change we ever made. The staff have been amazing and my daughter has grown in confidence so much. We have been impressed with the activities on offer and the care and attention

Hi, my name is Kym, and I have been working in childcare for over 10 years, progressing through a variety of roles to my current position as Nursery Manager. I’m originally from Manchester and moved down here over 8 years ago to be closer to family — something that has always been very important to me.


During my career, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children through every stage of their early years, helping them to flourish through engaging experiences that inspire awe and wonder. I’m passionate about creating a home-from-home environment where every child feels valued, supported, and excited to learn each day.
