Bright Horizons Wooldale Early Care & Education Centre in Northampton is based on the Caroline Chisholm School site in Wootton Northampton.

The Nursery is proud to have been awarded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in February 2015.

Wooldale offers high-quality nursery care for babies aged 3 months up to children aged 5 in the Preschool.

The nursery then offers a before and after school club for Caroline Chisholm, as well as a holiday club that is open to all during half terms throughout the year that takes children from ages 4-12.

My daughter has been attending wooldale since she was 9 months old. She is now almost 4 & her development has been amazing,the staff are all so friendly,and helpful. No question or concern (about my child) has been met with anything other than kindness,support & reassurance.
My daughter loves the
staff & she comes home every day telling me about the fun things she's done, the activities are varied & are really helping her character,independency & knowledge grow.

Lovely nursery, really accommodating. Staff all appear to really care and my daughter has a great bond with a number of the staff there. Different activities make the day more exciting, activities include days outside the nursery especially during the half term when they have use of the school premises
also. The food provided is great too with a different meal option each day including vegetarian options. Staff are friendly and someone always responds to calls / emails. I alway feel happy dropping my little one off because of the wonderful environment which the nursery provides.

My daughter started bright horizons in sept 2024 at 9 months old, I feel safe with my daughter going and the nursery staff are absolutely amazing.
They keep you throughly updated on the app & also at the end of each pick up. I know my daughter is in safe hands while I work. Best nursery by far.

Bright Horizons Wooldale is such an amazing nursery. Our 2 year old son has been going there for 6 months and he is thriving. Sending him there is the best decision we ever made.
The staff there are absolutely amazing, we honestly can't praise them enough and the centre management run things very
professionally, are very friendly and approachable and have a good presence there. Everyone is so nice and we feel at ease leaving our son there. The activities, facilities, care and learning and are great and everything is very well planned and the children all seem very happy to be there. Originally our son attended another nursery in the local area and we had such a terrible experience and felt very disconnected. Everything happens for a reason and we feel very lucky to be able to send our son to Bright Horizons Wooldale.

My son loves it here. Staff are always very caring and compassionate and have shown a great deal of support in his growth, providing a variety of activities and events. I have also found them to be personally supportive with advice and resources on general parenting issues.

From registering to drop offs everything has been so smooth. I have an older child who attended this nursery and when the time come to select a nursery it was a no brainer to return. I like the fact the staff turn around is very small, any requests are accommodated, my child is loved and cared for and
I do not have any concerns whilst at work. I would recommend this nursery to anybody who would listen! Their baby room is beautiful and busy and the food options are vast.

My daughter has been attending Wooldale for almost 1.5 years and she absolutely loves it there. She's made some great friends and the staff are wonderful and welcoming. Our son has been attending Wooldale Bright Horizons since he was 1 (now 4). The staff have always gone above and beyond expectation to support any needs we identified including religious, sleep and concerns around issues such as eating habits and potty training transition.
He thrives in the environment
and has gone from being a fussy eater to enjoying the food thanks to chef and speaks highly of all the different staff across the rooms and remembers them well. The manager and the staff are always helpful with any queries or requests and he always returns home a happy boy and looks forward to going to nursery.
The app updates are a useful way of communicating and understanding his development and progress, his key worker always provides a detailed handover at the end of each day.
I have been really impressed with the nursery's handle on infection control and sharing messages around any potential viruses circulating.
The mixture of indoor and outdoor play is a great balance.

I can't say enough about the exceptional level of care provided by the wonderful team. My daughter has been attending the nursery for the past four months, and the progress she has made is a true reflection of their dedication and hard work.
With a caring and attentive key worker, she has the opportunity
to learn, play, and interact in a safe and nurturing environment. My daughter gets onsite meals daily, cooked by a great onsite chef and they give a variety of options and weekly menus. The team's attentiveness is outstanding-they have been incredibly diligent in monitoring her well-being, quickly addressing any concerns such as a temperature or discomfort.
The quality of care at this nursery is second to none. I genuinely believe it would be difficult to find a better nursery in the Northampton area. As a father, knowing that my daughter is not only safe but also thriving in such a fantastic environment brings me great peace of mind.thank you to the whole team you are outstanding!

My child has only been going to Bright Horizons Wooldale Early Care & Education Centre since 1st of March 2025 but she absolutely loves it, the staff are amazing, always happy to support where ever they can, nothing is ever to much trouble.

Great care received from all members of staff and lovely manager who puts on lots of events to help parents get to know each other outside of nursery. Really nice friendly feel with nice facilities and garden space. Great menu with lots of different foods for the children to try.

My daughter has just finished here, she started at 9 months and has now gone to school.
Bright Horizons Wooldale Early Care & Education Centre is a fantastic nursery and the level of care and compassion is amazing, which really sets your mind at ease.
My daughter was born during Covid times and wasn't
used to many different faces but all of the staff welcomed her so well, she settled in very quickly and loved all of her time here.
The nursery has supported all of the difficult milestones, such as teething, learning to crawl/walk, potty training, getting rid of dummies. All of these have been supported in whichever way I have requested and they have always encouraged me, as a parent, that I am making the right decisions.
Every day when taking my children into nursery I can see the care and effort made to set up nice activities in each of the rooms ready for the day.
If you are considering a nursery, please take a look and see for yourself what an amazing place it is and what wonderful and caring staff work there as well.

Bright Horizons Wooldale Early Care & Education Centre is fantastic. They have an excellent manager and staff that take care of your child's development and provide progress reports. They do have excellent facilities. The extra care and needs that were required for our daughter's development was taken
care of.

Our child really enjoyed attending Bright Horizons Wooldale Early Care & Education Centre after having a poor experience with another preschool.
There was flexibility around pick-up/drop-off times and the consistency of the daily routine made transitions easier. There was a good blend of playing and
learning and our child made good friends at the preschool. The food standard was very high and so was the level of cleanliness.
Staff were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable.

The care my daughter received was brilliant, she always came home happy and had many compliments about the food. Despite staff changes, I never felt a change in the standards of the nursery and my daughter felt a connection with all members working there. I thoroughly enjoyed the daily updates via the

Wooldale is fantastic. When we viewed the nursery after seeing a couple of other we knew there and then it was the place we wanted our child to join.
The staff are fantastic, they really invest their time in your child ensuring they can learn and thrive in the environment. The curriculum and learning
materials is so vast that they will learn and not get bored just being left to play all the time, even nature trails and seeing the local sheep!
The food is also a massive topic, the menu is so vast catering for all dietary needs but also encouraging to try new food which then transcends down to eating well at home as well. Chicken Korma, roast dinners, cous cous chicken to name a few!
Go take a tour, you won't be disappointed.

The staff at Wooldale have been excellent in supporting our daughter with her journey at nursery. They identified extra needs in our daughter and did everything they could to ensure her experience in the nursery was positive and fulfilling and adapted to her requirements. Couldn't fault the team.

What I like most about the preschool is they seem to be led to some extent by what the child wants to learn or by their academic stage. They make sure they are ready for school in every way. They don't just support up to where they are on paper. I really like that the preschool is on a school site.
It helped the transition to school by already being in an educational setting. The classrooms feel the same. It is completed different to what I thought I wanted for my child, but this preschool is much better than my other child's past preschool at working towards the transition to school, which is what preschool is all about.

My son has been at Wooldale for 12 months. The care has been fantastic. He starts preschool soon, where the excellent care and education will continue. I recommend Wooldale to all parents for all early education ages.

Ginny has over 30 years of experience in childcare, including working at various nurseries and Out of School clubs within Bright Horizons.


She holds a level 3 qualification and enjoys attending training and using that knowledge to further support the children's learning and development.


Ginny lives in Higham Ferrers with her husband and daughter, her son is a primary school teacher in Sheffield. She enjoys running and spending time being active with her family.
