The Parade Day Nursery - Abington

My child attended The Parade Day Nursery from April 2022 and, for the most part, we had a positive experience during his time there. Unfortunately, our experience became less positive following his transition into the pre-school room.

There have been a number of changes within the nursery during the time my child has attended, and we ultimately found that communication, feedback and the accuracy of information recorded about him did not consistently meet the standard we would have expected. As a parent, clear and transparent communication is extremely important, particularly when it relates to your child's day-to-day experience and development. Unfortunately, when we raised concerns, we did not always feel that there was sufficient transparency or clarity from management.

We are also still awaiting refunds relating to overcharges made by the nursery, which we had to identify and raise ourselves.

Throughout our journey the manager has changed a lot and staff have come and gone. I would say better communication face to face and via the app would be appreciated for these transitions. For example when the newest manager joined things changed within the culture and I am sorry to say I haven't found her as approachable or as friendly as the others. Communication on messages have been slow and sometimes disappointing to not get a reply at all. Some staff members really make the nursery and do an amazing job like the sports day and graduation. They do French which has been amazing to watch our little one learn and I love the posters in the window knowing their weekly focus eg space or transport.

We would definitely recommend The Parade to other parents looking for a cosy, homely nursery for their children.

My daughter loves going to nursery. She always looks forward to seeing her friends and practitioners. My husband and I have never had a problem with the nursery, we know she's loved and well taken cared for by the ladies. We really appreciate your service.

Since my daughter started the parade her confidence has came on loads the staff are so supportive and are helping with her journey for any concerns I had regarding development but with there support she is doing great - she loves coming in and seeing her teachers and I'm excited to see her progress in to her next class - the staff are really helpful aswell and always tell me how she was and anything I've asked about for the day regarding her and support

Most importantly, our daughter absolutely loves attending. As she starts school this year, we are genuinely sad to be saying goodbye.

He has formed a special bond with his key person, we are so grateful for all their support and hardwork!

The first thing that stands out is how considerate the staff are of parents' needs. Taking family life and household priorities into account they really do cater and help as much as they can. I have on occasions had to make some last-minute changes to my children's schedule and the manager was understanding and judgement-free. The management are fantastic, professional and relatable. They take their job seriously and the nursery is run well. Communication is also great. They are very engaged and respond well to queries. My children have settled in well, and have made good friends. I am very pleasantly surprised with this fantastic local nursery. I feel comfortable leaving my children there. Our daughter had the happiest year at The Parade Day Nursery. She has grown in confidence and is now more than ready for school. The staff are kind and approachable. Our only regret is that we didn't send her when she was a little younger!

My child has attended the nursery since 11 months old and our experience has been amazing. The setting really is a home from home and offers a warm welcome. All practitioners are happy and friendly and it's clear they all have such good relationships with, and care for, the children. They provide detailed updates both on the app and at pick-up. Our child has bonded well with all staff and key workers and really loves going to nursery. So much thought goes into the activities and learning. I love reading the monthly newsletter to see what they have been exploring and can always find links between what they've been doing and the developments or interests shown at home. I couldn't be happier with our choice and our child's development.

The baby room practitioners are caring and attentive. My child has a good bond with the practitioners in the room; in particular his key person. He is happy to go off and explore most mornings, but always has someone to cuddle if he's ever feeling a little less willing. My son enjoys the music class and we often catch him showcasing his new moves to nursery rhymes at home! The management team have been helpful and prompt to deal with any queries we've had. They also regularly organise mini sessions where parents/carers can come and join with activities, which has been lovely.

Really happy about everything. My child learned a lot since she's going to this nursery, the girls are really patient and professional with her. Really happy about her development and learning. Amazing staff and you can rely on them with any problem you have, really helpful in everything.

I'm very glad that I chose this nursery. Reviews were amazing in 2021 when my son started and I can confirm that in this nursery your child will be taken care of wonderfully. My son was 1 and a half when he started, his improvements were very noticeable, he started eating everything, his vocabulary increased very quickly and he always had good fun by playing and by being involved in lot of activities. That's the reason I couldn't choose a different nursery for second child (my son will start reception now so no, I didn't choose it because I would've had the two of them in the same nursery). Staff is very friendly and supportive, ready to answer any question/concern that you have. You always receive updates and even pics as well through the app, and stay-and-play sessions and parents evenings help us parents to be more involved. I really recommend this nursery and as I said, couldn't do a better choice.

I made a great choice of choosing the right nursery for my son. Teachers are very friendly and supportive to him when he gets home from nursery he always tells me that he loves his teachers and friends. The way that teachers communicate with the parents is very encouraging because it makes the kids think of their accomplishments. I would definitely recommend The Parade Day Nursery for anybody who wants their children to explore their own strengths.

I couldn't have picked a better nursery for my daughter than The Parade Day Nursery. She started when she had just turned one and has now just left for Reception and she loved every single day that she went. The staff are truly wonderful and we both will really miss them. Thank you to all the staff for making her nursery journey so happy and fun and for helping her be ready for the next stage in her life. Best wishes.

Our two children attend the nursery at the moment and both love going. They ensure our children are safe, happy and cared for. The nursery are receptive to contact and will always call if needed. We would definitely recommend the nursery to others.

Daughter has attended this nursery from the ages of 1 to 3 and has enjoyed each and every room that she has been in. Staff have been very supportive and have formed positive relationships with my child. She enjoys the variety of activities on offer and as parents there has been good communication. I highly recommend this nursery.

The communication with parents and carers is great I have no complaints and will choose this setting for all my future foster children.

My daughters both attend the setting and love it. They are always full of joy when I pick them up and can't wait to tell me about the day they have had: dancing, singing, playing in the garden, messy play, arts and crafts, visits out and about. Communication with parents is timely and efficient and I receive daily updates about how my girls are getting on. Staff are kind, caring and clearly passionate about their jobs and wanting the children to thrive.
