Little Houghton Day Nursery is in the charming village of Little Houghton in an old-school building that boasts high ceilings and a rich history. The three light-filled rooms are carefully designed with age-appropriate resources to engage children's curiosity and encourage their natural love of learning. The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

Babies start in their own room, with a mixture of child-led and structured activities tailored to each individual child's needs. Toddlers can explore a variety of learning experiences, such as sand and water play, imaginative play and sensory activities, in a safe and nurturing environment. Pre-School children are encouraged to discover their own interests and talents through a range of activities, including arts and crafts, construction and role play. The team also work closely with local primary schools to help prepare children for their transition to school.

Outdoor play and exploration is encouraged across the nursery daily, with walks in the local village and a garden space for children to enjoy.

At Little Houghton Day Nursery, the team aim to create a calm and natural learning space where children can flourish and discover their full potential.

Such a wonderful and welcoming nursery. My daughter has settled in amazingly and absolutely loves her days spent here! After swapping her nurseries from a previous establishment I've noticed she's a lot calmer and patient in her personality now. Would highly recommend this nursery to anyone.

From the moment I set foot in the nursery, I knew that it was the place that I was going to send my son to. Friends send their little ones here too and I have found it to be a fantastically nurturing environment.


Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they keep you fully informed of your child's

progress and celebrate the milestones with you.


I would without hesitation recommend this nursery to any friends or family looking for somewhere for their child.

My child has been attending Little Houghton Day Nursery for 2 years and I am so happy with how well he has settled and the relationships the staff have built with him. His current key worker is excellent and has really taken the time to get to know and understand him. I feel confident that the is being

My 18 month old is in the baby room and has been since she was 9 months old. The staff at Little Houghton Day Nursery are absolutely amazing. We can't praise them enough for everything they do. Our daughter loves nursery and has learnt so much. She's coming on leaps and bounds! Thank you!

When I first used to drop my little boy off at nursery, he used to get upset but with help from the girls at Little Houghton, especially one girl in particular, he settled in very quickly. The daily activities, meals and toys they are provided with at this nursery is amazing! I couldn’t recommend this
nursery enough.

Little Houghton is a fantastic nursery.
All the staff are very welcoming and make you feel "at home" straight away.
All the girls in the baby room are brilliant. I felt safe leaving my baby with all the staff. The room leader is great with the children and parents.
My child's key carer is fantastic
with my son. It's the girls that make the room.

I was very apprehensive about sending my son to nursery, but that soon dissapeared as soon as we walked in. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, my son loves it here. He's relaxed and enjoys all his meals. I love the chat with the staff at the end of the day too, who always take their time with
us to tell us what our son has been up to. Our son has really settled into little Houghton nursery and we're so glad we found this little gem.

Lovely nursery in a lovely setting. Outside space isn't massive but they use it really well and children are regularly taken on walks and to the park.


The frequency of staff changes and management is my only gripe but this seems common across nurseries - I would say though that there are a core of

staff who have remained who are all brilliant and I feel I can talk to them and they really care and want to please.

I have found this nursery to be caring and nurturing for our children. Staff always say hello to our children when they arrive and always look happy to see them. The staff are enthusiastic and full of energy and are caring. This nursery really does care about the children they look after. This includes
the managers as well as the nursery nurses and assistants.

Sending your first born to nursery...feelings of apprehension engulfing your mind, right? From the moment we visited Little Houghton Day Nursery that feeling dissipated instantly. The setup is one that encourages enjoyment, inspires belief and nurtures your senses. The individual rooms are designed
to stimulate the children through a mixture of interactive and self-learning activities. The outside area is a vast and expansive space ensuring imaginations can run wild - whilst devoid of grass, a local pocket park is only a short walk away for group visits to explore what nature has to offer. A varied menu of freshly prepared meals, catering for all dietary requirements/allergies, encourages healthy living and appetites.
All staff are a credit and an asset to the nursery. In the Ducks room, which my daughter is a member of, the team are extremely talented, dedicated and hardworking individuals, expertly guided by the room leader. I couldn't speak highly enough of this fantastic community.

My daughter started at Little Houghton in January and has settled in really well. On touring the nursery for the first time I instantly knew that this was the place that I'd feel most comfortable leaving her at.
The staff are very friendly and enthusiastic, they really seek to provide the best level
of care. I'm always given a detailed report of how her day has been and it sounds as though she has a whale of a time.
I definitely think that she will gain a lot from her time here as the staff and activities are very engaging.
I couldn't recommend this nursery more highly!

Both my daughters go to this nursery and love it. My eldest will often ask at the weekends if it's a nursery day and is very disappointed if we tell her that it's not! We have no worries whatsoever dropping them off each day they attend and we love hearing all about the fun they have had at the end
of the day.

My little girl started at Little Houghton in January this year. The nursery has been amazing. My little girl doesn't settle in new places or with new people easily and she is so happy here. The staff have made settling so easy and have made my return to work a much happier one than I could have anticipated.
Their communication is excellent and gives me a really good insight to her day! Would happily recommend to others, in fact, have done so already.
