All three of my children have attended or are currently attending this nursery and I cannot speak highly enough of the staff there. They all work extremely hard to provide an excellent level of care and education, focused on the needs and interests of my children. Feedback is always thorough and the
online learning portal is great for seeing what my children have been up to and it is updated regularly. The managers are friendly and are always very accommodating with requests for additional hours/changes in our circumstances, etc. Since Children 1st took over the nursery, the facilities have improved significantly, making the most of the indoor and outdoor space available. All in all, it is an excellent nursery where my children have been and are really happy. I would recommend it to others without reservation.

Our son has settled in so well at Children 1st. He loves his days there. He's too young to tell us what he's been doing, so it's great to read about his day in his journal as well as see pictures and updates on the eyLog app. The staff have been very welcoming and friendly and also very accommodating
to our needs: swapping and adding days where we have needed extra help. We couldn't be happier with the standard.

All the staff are welcoming to all the kids whether they work in my child's room or not. They are thoughtful when doing crafts at Fathers day, they check what we would like our son to write on cards etc for his stepdad. My son's key worker has an amazing bond with him and genuinely cares about him
and his progress. Communication is brilliant at Wragby Road with management talking about dates and fees as well as handing over my child's information. We moved out of the area and is now a 30-minute drive away but I wouldn't move my child nursery for the world.

My daughter and I have been very pleased with this nursery and I would recommend it to anyone. My daughter loves coming here and has a great time whilst she's here. The staff are very nice and friendly, warm and welcoming. The security is excellent and I feel very assured that my daughter is safe whilst
she's here. My child has come on leaps and bounds in her independence and confidence whilst being here. Thank you to everyone we will both be sad when my daughter leaves in April.

A lovely nursery! Staff are brilliant, my child has learnt so much and has lovely relationships with all the staff. Everyone is so friendly and all the staff know all the children even when they are in different rooms. This gives it a nice friendly welcoming feeling.

I have recommended this nursery to all of my friends and anyone who asks me which nursery my daughter goes to. I know 3 have placed their children there after my recommendation. The staff are always helpful, the manager is very welcoming and friendly always happy to help. I've never had a problem with
the care my daughter gets and she is very happy to be there :)

I have sent both of my little girls to this nursery over the previous few years and they've been amazing with both of them. Both very happy and contented in their environment. The care and development from baby room to preschool is great and my eldest was well prepared for when she started at school.

We chose this nursery because of the homely feel and the friendly staff, both of which have been maintained throughout the changes and improvements to the nursery over the last few years. Since the change of ownership to Children's 1st, the facilities at the nursery have been improved dramatically,
making it an even better place to learn, develop and grow.

Both of our boys have had great fun and made good friends in their time at the nursery, the eldest will shortly be moving on to school, though little brother has a couple more years of enjoying his time at nursery.

The manager and all the staff create a very welcoming and caring environment, with a good healthy food provided throughout the week.

We were quite anxious about our 11 month old starting nursery as she hasn't had much time away from me (just a couple of hours here and there) and because I still nurse her to sleep for all of her naps. However the manager and all her staff have been so supportive and caring, making this transition
so much easier on our little girl. They do everything they can (including holding her for all of her naps) to ensure she is happy and gets the attention she needs. I get regular updates and I am encouraged to ring up as many times as I like while she is there. We couldn't be more thrilled with our choice of nursery.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.957)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.957) out of 10 for Children 1st Wragby Road Nursery School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 47 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.957 for Children 1st Wragby Road Nursery School is calculated as follows: ( (544 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 564 Ratings = 4.957
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Children 1st Wragby Road Nursery School is based on 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 98 number of registered child places is 19.6, which has been reached with 47 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2018

Hello, my name is Joanna Parker and I joined Children 1st in 2018. I completed my NNEB and have worked in various roles within nurseries, working my way up from Nursery Nurse to Nursery Manager.

I’m particularly proud of achieving my Foundation Degree in Early Years through the Open University while working, which gave me a Level 5 qualification.

I really enjoy working with families — from welcoming them on their very first visit to seeing them begin their nursery journey with us. I love organising family events and creating opportunities for them to be part of nursery life.

I feel very passionate about making sure every family feels included in our setting and knows they can turn to us for support whenever they need it. I’m also proud to work alongside an amazing team who go above and beyond every day to provide high-quality learning and care for every child. Supporting my team and helping each member reach their full potential is something I value highly in my role.
