The Laurels Nursery School

This nursery is exceptional and outstanding in its unique tailored approach to each child. They are kind, open, honest, empathic, diligent and responsible. They have become part of a network almost like a family in supporting our child. We cannot imagine that you would do better than this in any other nursery. Our son adores his carers there and they have encouraged him to forge charming relationships with the other children. He is thriving in the care of this nursery. Some people see a nursery as a place to accommodate their child when they are unavailable due to work or other commitments. I see this nursery as a key place for education and development of our much loved and much wanted and much waited for son.

Absolutely fantastic nursery, my daughter is very clingy and was very shy around other adults, within 4 weeks of being at The Laurels she no longer cries at pick up or drop off and doesn’t cry around other adults! She’s come out of her shell completely thanks to the lovely ladies in the 0-2 years room - definitely recommend it.

Our daughter started attending The Laurels in January 2022 and we couldn’t be more pleased with how things are going. We really feel that the brilliant teachers in her classroom know her well and the communication through the parents' app is regular and very reassuring, particularly when she first started - it’s exactly what you need to see on your breaks at work in those first few weeks! Thank you so so much to the staff. My daughter loves coming to nursery and it’s all thanks to you! It was also so lovely and reassuring for us as parents to attend the 25th Celebration on Saturday and hear so many of the other staff talk to her and know her name. We wouldn’t expect that when she isn’t in their classroom/it being a big nursery so that was yet another thing that made us love it even more! Thank you all.

My daughter started at the Laurels nursery in September 2021 as it was recommended to us by several other families. We were unfamiliar with the area and asked within a local parents' group for recommendations. The Laurels was clearly favoured by other local families. Ever since she started, she has flourished thanks to the excellent care, hard work and dedication of the team, making every day a fun and engaging environment for the little people in the Laurels' care. The nursery has a lovely, warm and inviting culture, which was something really important to us when choosing a nursery. My daughter goes in happy and content she clearly has a really good day. We receive lovely personal updates via the app and a thorough handover of her day. The staff really care about the children. We couldn’t ask for more from a nursery and can’t wait to continue to watch our little girl grow with the care and support of the team at the Laurels, enabling her to reach her full potential.

Overall, the nursery is clean, tidy and has a large outdoor space. I think the rates are in line with other nurseries in the area and so are reasonable. I would recommend the nursery highly.

The end of an era! My son has been attending the Laurels since he was 1-year-old and left today to start school. He's turned into such a lovely, happy, confident and polite boy and that is in no small part down to all the nursery staff. From the moment we were shown around, they could never do enough for us and have been always so helpful, jolly and approachable. My son's writing and speech developed rapidly and he couldn't wait to tell us about his day and all the fun that he'd had with his new friends. The nursery itself is very well equipped with a large garden and play areas. Car parking was a problem initially, but has been massively improved since the bin store area was relocated. I was always able to get a space, even on the busiest drop-off and pick-up times (Tuesday/Wednesday). The food menus are varied and there was rarely something that my son didn't like. Thanks so much to the manager and her brilliant team for everything. Please don't hesitate to send your child here.

I wanted to leave a review for The Laurels Nursery as my little boy has been with them now for just under a year. The staff are excellent and very caring. The building and the gardens are just lovely and we love seeing updates on the parents' app to see what our little one has been up to within the day! Keep the photo's coming. I want to thank the staff for everything they do, especially in the buttercup rooms / younger rooms. It is lovely to see the relationship that forms with young people and the staff. My son’s confidence has certainly picked up since he has been going to nursery and he is slowly building very positive relationships with all the team. Great work all and thank you again.

My little girl has only been going to The Laurels for 2 months and I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else. I know we made the right decision choosing here. From the very first visit with the nursery manager, we were filled with confidence that our little girl would be in very safe and capable hands. The nursery is very large and spacious, very bright and airy and full of resources for the children to play with. The garden area is fantastic and very large. The environment feels like your walking into your own home it’s a very calm and warming feeling. We were very impressed by the levels of cleanliness throughout the nursery. Since being there, she has grown in confidence and her development surprises us every day. We are regularly updated with her development and milestones and are given ideas to help at home. The staff go out of their way to inform us of our child’s day and show genuine care and passion for what they do.

The nursery is excellent, the staff are wonderful and really help with my daughters development. Their care and resilience to continue on as they have during this pandemic has been amazing. I would recommend the nursery to everyone!

My son loves going to nursery and although finances won’t allow us to, we would love to send him another day as he really benefits by being there! The staff in his room do a great job in caring for him and I have no hesitation to recommend the nursery to others. Thank you for all you do for my son!

I have two children currently attending the nursery. I have no complaints with anything relating to their care and education. The staff are all friendly and happy to help if you have any issues relating to the progress of your children.

I couldn’t give higher praise than my children being so excited to get into the nursery, she’s grabbing her bag and running to the front door wanting to get going.

My son has just started nursery this week and has settled in really well. The baby room staff have been so welcoming and helpful to my son's needs. They have shared photos of him playing daily, which has put my mind at rest.

We have been sending our children to The Laurels for 5 years now. First, my son attended and graduated in 2019 from the pre-school. So when we came to sending our twin girls to the nursery we already knew there would be no better place than the Laurels. They have cared for all 3 of our children with such a high standard and are always putting updates on Tapestry for us to see that the girls are happy and settled in every way possible with nursery life. Due to covid, we couldn't do transition visits and unfortunately had to just start them full time in June. The staff though were very patient and showed so much confidence to look after them both especially when they were themselves having to get used to a new way of working with restrictions in place. I think any parent who places their child at the Laurels will feel reassured and confident that their child will thrive in a nurturing, caring and supportive environment.

Firstly, I’m not somebody who writes reviews very often, but I have been so impressed with this nursery that it deserves writing about. The general conduct of this nursery is unlike any that I have encountered. As a mother of three, I have experienced many childcare settings and The Laurels is genuinely the best that I have found. The staff are all friendly, amazing with the children and without exception seem to love what they do. They are flexible to parents needs, understanding of individual requirements and enthusiastic and pleasant to speak to. I can not recommend this setting highly enough. If you think nurseries are probably not the place for you - please have a look at The Laurels because you will be pleasantly surprised - they go above and beyond to ensure that your child really does get home from home care.

My daughter currently attends the Laurels Nursery School and the staff that care for her are fantastic, caring and very supportive, they are very aware of her individual needs which is very important to me which helps me to leave her in their care so I can focus on my work without worrying.

My son has attended for the last 3 years, with my other son starting shortly. He loves all aspects of nursery, the staff, activities, food etc. He has always been very happy and I have felt confident leaving him. I’m always impressed with the fact that all the staff across the nursery know every child’s name and are always very welcoming.

My son is currently in his last year at The Laurels at Queniborough. The girls are all fantastic and support my son fully. Each week they have various activities provided by external resources which are fantastic and my son loves them all, including Musical sessions, sports, forest school, tumbling and French. My son has learnt so much French including basic greetings, colours, numbers, weather, clothing and animals, and he soaks it up so easily. My daughter also attended the nursery from 9 months and the transition to school was almost seamless. I would recommend this nursery to any parent.
