The Old School Day Nursery & Pre-school

The Old School Day Nursery have been brilliant with my son. They know him really well and the staff always take their time to tell me about this day. I love being able to see what he is doing through pictures and communication on the app and it really puts you at ease as a parent. I can't fault the nursery, the staff, the facilities or the care they provide.

I couldn’t be happier with the standard of care my child receives here! Both my children have attended the Old School, one being 7 now and one being in toddler room. The staff at the Old School are very welcoming, friendly and always help as much as they can. Every member of staff knows and greets my child, even though they are in separate rooms. My daughter runs into nursery to see the staff members and children. I always feel safe leaving my child at nursery and she enjoys every day. The daily updates and parents' app is amazing, it’s lovely to see all her feedback and photos daily. The nursery has a lovely atmosphere, is warm and is such a calming, neutral setting. My child’s key worker is amazing, she knows all her strengths and weaknesses and plans activities to enhance her development in all areas. The manger is very friendly, helpful, and relatable as a parent. My daughter calls the staff members by their names and looks forward to coming into nursery, I would highly recommend it.

Both of my children have really enjoyed spending time at nursery from when they were very little and through to pre-school age. The nursery is small and has a homely feel, with good outside facilities.

Our daughter has only been attending The Old School Nursery for a short time but we have noticed an amazing transformation in her socialisation skills. She is so much more confident and will approach other children with enthusiasm it is very refreshing to see. Our daughter was a previously looked after child and we had worked very hard on positive attachment, to say I was anxious about her attending nursery would be an understatement. However, the nursery were very understanding and offered lots of support to her and myself with extended settle sessions and in-depth updates on how she is adjusting to nursery life. I am very grateful to two staff members. Keep up the great work!

Lovely little nursery, very friendly and welcoming. They are great at working with you to help settle your child if needed, potty training and getting them ready to go to school. The meals the children receive are excellent. It was sad to see my child leave, but she ran into school on her 1st day. They helped with getting her to this point. Thank you. If you're looking for a little nursery that will encourage your child to develop and be ready for school, what are you waiting for? Go for it they are fab.

Amazing nursery and amazing staff! So understanding and lovely throughout the settling in period, offering additional sessions too and letting my little boy take it at his own pace. We were really worried about how he and the staff would cope with his speech difficulties, but we’ve had no issues at all. He’s never been to a nursery before and just over a month in he’s constantly asking to go and doesn’t want to leave when he’s there. Couldn’t have asked for better!

Fantastic nursery! They have been brilliant with my little boy from the day he started. Due to its small nature, you get a real sense of personalisation for your child. Their communication is faultless and are always on the phone if there is a problem with your child, and the staff are always upbeat and bubbly. I definitely made the right choice for my little one in choosing this nursery.

I’m happy with my little boy's progress and I feel he will continue to learn, grow and enjoy his time at The Old School Day Nursery.

This nursery provides an amazing atmosphere for children, the staff are extremely welcoming to both parents and the children. My son gets so excited as soon as we pull into the car park here.

The Old School Day Nursery & Pre-school have looked after my son for over 18 months. Since January 2018 he has attended full-time and has thrived in the environment which has nurtured his interests, helped him become a confident and assertive boy while tending to his health concerns.

The staff always provide relevant feedback and communication is good on a daily basis. In the last few weeks, the nursery staff have put all their efforts into fundraising for the Children's Hospital (who look after my son) and raised over £600 while having so much fun and getting all of the children involved. Amazing! Well done!

I was initially very nervous sending my son to nursery but he settled in straight away. All of the staff are extremely helpful and caring. I couldn't have asked for more.

My son loves attending The Old School Day Nursery & Pre-School since day one the staff have been welcoming and professional. There is always a wide range of activities for the children to take part in, so each day is a different experience. The staff always update me on my son's progress and the general communication between us is excellent. I am fully informed and aware of what has happened in the day. I would highly recommend our nursery as it is a wonderful place for children to thrive.

When looking for a nursery for my 6-month-old (and my first child) I was fairly certain about what I wanted and The Old School Day Nursery ticked the boxes! It is small and personal; I feel like my child is loved and looked after as if she were one of the staff members' own children. It is beautiful inside, with lots for the children to do and not overcrowded. Being a small nursery I feel like the staff who work there (and the other children) have really gotten to know my baby and vice versa, which enables me to go to work and do my job without worrying if my little girl will be OK. I love the surroundings of the nursery and they have really made use of the outside space that they have, with lots of different things to keep the children occupied. The handovers are always thorough and I always feel as if my child has had a great morning. I would highly recommend the nursery to anyone looking for that personal touch as I'm really happy with everything that they are doing. Thank you!!

Friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Staff are always welcoming. Always helpful. Various activities for the children to do. Encouraging lots of different styles of play and learning.

Since joining 2 years ago, I feel my children (1 & 2.5) have received fantastic supervision, care, guidance and support during their nursery stay. Starting in the baby room, the dedicated area has always been an area of constant change with regards to facilities and sensory items. This was the selling point to join; having a bespoke room for babies. The main room is a good size to accommodate toddlers/pre-school - room for toys, play, painting, and art/craft etc. The outside play area has plenty to offer, lots of equipment, but a very safe and clean environment.

I would fully endorse the Old School to anyone looking for a nursery.

Such a lovely nursery, all the staff are fun, helpful and friendly and they have such great relationships with the children. My child loves going here. It is also in such a lovely rural setting and only has a small number of children to each child carer. I would definitely recommend this nursery.

Both my girls have been here for the past two years they have enjoyed every minute. The setting is like home from home. The staff have been amazing throughout. I can't recommend this nursery enough. They have both progressed no end all thanks to all the staff that have cared for them. Thank you all.

Lovely, small nursery with a family feel. The new manager has made an immediate impact and the nursery has recently been refurbished inside and out. The staff make sure the children enjoy lots of time outside and regularly take them on walks in the surrounding countryside. The nursery introduced a new food provider a few months ago and my son enjoys a wide variety of meals.

My son has attended The Old School since he was a baby and has thrived in the baby room, toddler room and now in pre-school. I would highly recommend this nursery.

They have recognised his natural abilities and helped to bring these out.
