The Old School is a nursery set in the countryside between Coventry and Nuneaton.

Part of the Tommies Childcare family, the nursery's qualified and experienced team pride themselves in creating warm, vibrant and interactive environments which allow children to learn and have fun.

The Old School's baby room includes its own messy play area for babies up to the age of two-years-old.

Toddlers and pre-school children have their own spacious room which holds a range of resources and play-rich environments that develop learning.

The nursery also boasts a large garden with a climbing frame as well as an area for growing vegetables.

Our daughter has only been attending The Old School Nursery for a short time but we have noticed an amazing transformation in her socialisation skills. She is so much more confident and will approach other children with enthusiasm it is very refreshing to see. Our daughter was a previously looked
after child and we had worked very hard on positive attachment, to say I was anxious about her attending nursery would be an understatement. However, the nursery were very understanding and offered lots of support to her and myself with extended settle sessions and in-depth updates on how she is adjusting to nursery life. I am very grateful to two staff members. Keep up the great work!

Lovely little nursery, very friendly and welcoming. They are great at working with you to help settle your child if needed, potty training and getting them ready to go to school. The meals the children receive are excellent. It was sad to see my child leave, but she ran into school on her 1st day. They
helped with getting her to this point. Thank you. If you're looking for a little nursery that will encourage your child to develop and be ready for school, what are you waiting for? Go for it they are fab.

Amazing nursery and amazing staff! So understanding and lovely throughout the settling in period, offering additional sessions too and letting my little boy take it at his own pace. We were really worried about how he and the staff would cope with his speech difficulties, but we’ve had no issues at
all. He’s never been to a nursery before and just over a month in he’s constantly asking to go and doesn’t want to leave when he’s there. Couldn’t have asked for better!

Fantastic nursery! They have been brilliant with my little boy from the day he started. Due to its small nature, you get a real sense of personalisation for your child. Their communication is faultless and are always on the phone if there is a problem with your child, and the staff are always upbeat
and bubbly. I definitely made the right choice for my little one in choosing this nursery.

My son loves coming to nursery, he knows when we pull up outside and gets all excited. Staff are lovely and very welcoming, always addresses my little boy as soon as we walk in the door.
Detailed daily feedback and the children are always engaging in fun activities. It’s so lovely to log in online
and see daily pictures of what they’ve been getting up too.
My little boy has been going since he was 5 months old and as a new mum working full time it puts my mind at ease knowing he’s in such good care and loves his days exploring at The Old School Day Nursery.
Staff always keep parents updated and very accommodating.
The only point I would make is how the days they attend are non-negotiable to swap on odd occasions they have to be set days, you can’t change days as a one off but this isn’t a complaint.
I’m happy with my little boy's progress and I feel he will continue to learn, grow and enjoy his time at The Old School Day Nursery.

The Old School Day Nursery & Pre-school have looked after my son for over 18 months. Since January 2018 he has attended full-time and has thrived in the environment which has nurtured his interests, helped him become a confident and assertive boy while tending to his health concerns.


The staff always

provide relevant feedback and communication is good on a daily basis. In the last few weeks, the nursery staff have put all their efforts into fundraising for the Children's Hospital (who look after my son) and raised over £600 while having so much fun and getting all of the children involved. Amazing! Well done!

My son loves attending The Old School Day Nursery & Pre-School since day one the staff have been welcoming and professional. When looking for a nursery for my 6-month-old (and my first child) I was fairly certain about what I wanted and The Old School Day Nursery ticked the boxes! It is small and personal; I feel like my child is loved and looked after as if she were one of the staff members' own children. It is beautiful
inside, with lots for the children to do and not overcrowded. Being a small nursery I feel like the staff who work there (and the other children) have really gotten to know my baby and vice versa, which enables me to go to work and do my job without worrying if my little girl will be OK. I love the surroundings of the nursery and they have really made use of the outside space that they have, with lots of different things to keep the children occupied. The handovers are always thorough and I always feel as if my child has had a great morning. I would highly recommend the nursery to anyone looking for that personal touch as I'm really happy with everything that they are doing. Thank you!!

Since joining 2 years ago, I feel my children (1 & 2.5) have received fantastic supervision, care, guidance and support during their nursery stay. Starting in the baby room, the dedicated area has always been an area of constant change with regards to facilities and sensory items. This was the selling
point to join; having a bespoke room for babies. The main room is a good size to accommodate toddlers/pre-school - room for toys, play, painting, and art/craft etc. The outside play area has plenty to offer, lots of equipment, but a very safe and clean environment.


The staffing in the 2 years has gone through quite a lot of change but since the employment of the new current management. Vast improvements have been made in retention, modernisation and overall performance through-out the Old School, which has had, noticeable positive affects on the children. The staff make this nursery!!!
I would fully endorse the Old School to anyone looking for a nursery.

Such a lovely nursery, all the staff are fun, helpful and friendly and they have such great relationships with the children. My child loves going here. It is also in such a lovely rural setting and only has a small number of children to each child carer. I would definitely recommend this nursery.

Lovely, small nursery with a family feel. The new manager has made an immediate impact and the nursery has recently been refurbished inside and out. The staff make sure the children enjoy lots of time outside and regularly take them on walks in the surrounding countryside. The nursery introduced a new
food provider a few months ago and my son enjoys a wide variety of meals.


My son has attended The Old School since he was a baby and has thrived in the baby room, toddler room and now in pre-school. I would highly recommend this nursery.

Hello,


My name is Stacey Scott and I proudly hold the Nursery Manager position here at The Old School.


I joined Tommies in 2014 and have progressed in my career, starting initially as a Lunchtime Assistant before joining one of our other nurseries as a full-time Nursery Practitioner. Since then, I have worked hard to develop my skillset and take on more and more management duties, taking up positions as a Room Leader, Third in Charge, Deputy Manager, and I am now embarking on my new role as Nursery Manager.


I have been inspired to work in childcare since I was a teenager. I love the joy that children bring and knew that working with them full-time was the right path for me. It’s not without challenges, but I enjoy them as much as spending a day with young children. No day is ever the same, and I’m continually amazed by how children develop and learn.


I look forward to meeting you (the parents) and your little ones at the start and throughout your early years journey with us. With that in mind, please arrange your visit today.
