Nurtured @ Chell is situated on Bidulph road, close to areas such as Packmoor and Tunstall.

The team pride themselves on their sustainable approach. Learning how to offer more kindness in the world, especially learning how doing good things for others can feel good. There is a special focus on wellbeing, learning how to understand big feelings and how to regulate them and learn how to build resilience. Their kindness begins with the little ones, but the same approach is offered to parents & the team too. The fully qualified team are incredibly supportive and they are passionate about building positive relationships. The fun starts in nursery, but there are some lovely green urban routes to explore, the children can enjoy nature at its best, during walks and forest school activities. The outdoor play area is small but mighty, housing a rowing boat, mud kitchen and bug hotel. They have library visits, amongst many other trips and a a wonderful selection extra curricular activities to choose from. They offer intergenerational care, singing, wood work and they love spending time with the older generation of Chell, reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness. Stay & play sessions are available for parents who don't attend the nursery, this allows for 'stay at home parents' to develop those all important early interactions, language development and social skills for little ones.

They would love for you to come and visit to see the friendly atmosphere first hand. The children are at the heart of everything. The team support each individual to discover their unique learning journey, enabling all children to reach their full potential.

I would recommend this nursery. My daughter has been going here for over a year now, and she is developing very well with all the support the staff give her. She loves to go, she goes straight in without crying, and she loves all the staff there. So glad I put my child into this nursery.

My daughter was 9 months old when she started Young Explorers; she's now almost 11 months and absolutely loves it! The lovely staff helping her to settle in so well has made the anxiety of going back to work after maternity so much better. Apart from the odd day, she absolutely beams at whoever answers
the door to take her inside, and you can see how excited she is to start playing. I'm always checking the app to see what she's eating, etc, and I love seeing photos of all the fun she's having! I would recommend this nursery to anyone; seeing how happy it's made my daughter spending time there is amazing.

Staff are always friendly and welcoming. My eldest child has loved every minute at Young Explorers, especially with one lady. My youngest is starting full-time next week after plenty of settling-in sessions to make sure she is settled. Overall, a wonderful setting where as parents, we feel comfortable
leaving the children. Any queries we have had have always been answered quickly and effectively.

Wonderful nursery. All staff are very helpful. The new app has been created to help with communication where we are updated daily, pictures are shown of the activities of the children, and we also get all invoices through here. Nothing is too much trouble, and my little boy has been there for nearly
two years and loves it.

My children have been attending since April, and they love it. My daughter had severe separation anxiety, and the staff here dealt with this amazingly well. My daughter now really looks forward to going to nursery and always comes out smiling and can't wait to tell me what she has been doing that day.
My son is in the baby room, so can't tell me anything yet, but he seems to love it too. The staff are brilliant at picking up when the children are unwell or need extra support in certain areas. I don't have anything bad to say. The toys are amazing, the activities are very well thought out, and I would recommend the nursery to anyone needing a place for their child.

Our little one has settled in amazingly and come on leaps and bounds since starting. She loves all the staff and happily goes in without a fuss. We get regular updates on the app with pictures of activities, and that really helps reassure us that she's okay! We are so happy with the nursery and everything
they do to aid in our child's development. We would recommend to anyone.

The staff are excellent at handling children and very friendly to parents. They take their duties and responsibilities with kindness and empathy. The food is good, and you can tell my child is happy there. I will recommend your nursery to anyone who wants a place for their children without a doubt.
All queries are handled with the utmost sincerity and openness. I will rate this nursery with not less than four stars and some five stars as well.

My daughter started nursing in April this year. Due to my daughter being a lockdown baby, she was very shy, emotional and quiet at the beginning of the first few months. The staff welcomed my daughter with open arms, and they supported my daughter on a daily basis, giving her so much conform and myslef
when I felt emotional. Since April, my daughter has come such a lobe way with her words and singing and her knowledge has come on stronger than ever. My daughter now looks forward to her bedtime storybook from nursery and sits down and tells me that she's going to go to nursery and make new friends. The nursery reassures me with pictures, messages and phone calls. I appreciate each and every member of staff that make the effort to support my daughter on a daily basis.

After having my childminders closed down by Ofsted, I was left with no childcare. I had to look around and try and find childcare asap. I looked at several nurseries and just felt they weren’t right. I called up Young Explorers and explained my situation, they invited me up the same day with my little
girl, I had a look around, and we both loved it. They had my little girl for some stay and play sessions, and she was able to start the following week, she’s settled in so well and loves all the children and staff. I thought she was advanced for her age already, but even after a short stay here, she seems even more advanced, having not been in a nursery setting before, I was apprehensive as to how she would go in and settle, but she literally walks in happily and comes home telling us how much fun she has had. Lots of fun activities that include the family too. Couldn’t praise the nursery enough and will recommend to everyone who needs childcare. Thanks for doing an amazing job guys!

My son loves coming to his nursery. He loves his teachers and playing with all the other children. Since he started nursery, his talking and general development have come on so well.
Not only do they do a great job looking after my son, they understand that I’m a stressy mum and always keep me informed,
happy to answer any questions and have been understanding when I have been struggling with childcare.

My son has been going to the nursery since he was 10-months-old and even though he only goes once a week, every week he goes straight in with the girls and doesn’t look back! I love the app that they have recently switched to showing photos and updates of what is happening each day, and it’s clear the
children are very loved and happy! Would highly recommend it!

My little one started in September, and in two short months, he has grown so much, from his first day not wanting to socialise with anyone to today knocking on the door to go to nursery.

Young Explorers Childcare is a really good nursery. My son only started in September, and I can already see the change in him how he's coming on with his speech and cleverness. He loves the children and staff, and he is so comfy here and enjoys exploring different things.
I'd definitely recommend this
place 100%.

My son has been attending Young Explorers since he was 11-months-old. He's now nearly 3. The care he has received for the past 2-years has been so personal and individual to his needs. He's not only looked after, he's educated, cared for and loved. We couldn't ask for better people to be part of our
son's life.

My son started not long ago; nursery staff were very helpful and reassuring during his transition process, he’s never been to nursery before, and he is settling in well.
The facilities are great, and I know I can talk to staff if I have concerns regarding my son.
I’d very highly recommend it.
He
has nutritious meals and snacks whilst there.
They do lots of activities which he really enjoys.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.951)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.951) out of 10 for Nurtured @ Chell is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 48 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 48 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.951 for Nurtured @ Chell is calculated as follows: ( (548 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 573 Ratings = 4.951
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Nurtured @ Chell is based on 48 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 90 number of registered child places is 18, which has been reached with 48 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
