Bright Horizons Milford Day Nursery and Preschool provides high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The nursery is set in a brightly refurbished large Victorian school surrounded by fields, farms and animals. The snug and nurturing baby room has a mixture of sensory and messy areas. The toddler room help children to develop their thought processes and imagination with an indoor slide and access to the outside area as they wish.

The spacious nursery room enhances all areas of child development and has direct, safe access to the outside area while the preschool room contains modern technology to prepare the children for school.

Their unique Healthy Hearts and Minds activities provide inspirational and engaging learning experiences using the innovative and well established Boogie Mites and myHappymind programmes.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

The nursery also takes part in outings to local places including the Shirehall sensory room, local libraries, farms and parks.

The nursery was rated 'Good' by Ofsted in September 2019.

Overall I think the nursery is fabulous.
Over lockdown, there wasn’t a clear amount of communication from Bright Horizons such as when they were opening the nursery, to what was going to happen when the nursery was opening and trying to get in touch with Bright Horizons! There weren’t any answers!
Which is what we all would have liked to make things more comforting for when my son did go back.
However, since the nursery has been open, it has been as fabulous as ever.
I look forward to going back inside the nursery to pick my son up inside and speak to the nursery staff. Plus seeing what he’s been up too. That is an important part of both of our days.

My daughter has returned to nursery extremely happily. She couldn't wait to return, and on her first day back, walked straight in smiling when greeted at the door. The fact that she wanted to return after such a long time speaks volumes about how much she enjoys her time at Milford and all of the staff.
The processes in place to support Covid-19 seem to be working efficiently and hasn't impacted on how much she enjoys being there at all. Thank you for making the return to the setting as pain-free as possible both for her and us as parents.

Nursery is great! My son has settled in so well. All the staff have really looked after him and helped me with the transition back to work. He is so happy when I collect him and he always has a wide variety of food and activities while I'm away.

Our son has recently started at this nursery, and we are really impressed with the staff and nursery. The staff are always very friendly and make time to speak to you on drop off and pickups.
We feel very comfortable with our son being at the nursery and love reading through the sheet of paper which
tells us what he has eaten and done!

My son has been attending this nursery since he was 6 months old. I can't fault the staff, they have been more than accommodating for his needs and development. The staff are very helpful and friendly. My boy loves nursery and runs towards all the girls.

My son is transitioning from the nursery room to pre-school. I was worried with how he would transition with him not liking change and being attached to his keyworker. I was impressed that staff realised that he would need extra moving-in sessions. I'm amazed with the new room, they have got my son
over his fear in the garden and he is now enjoying coming into nursery. I can't thank the pre-school staff for reassuring both me and my son, and am really happy.

An excellent nursery. I moved my daughters here from another nursery and they are so much happier here. They are excited to go and are very happy on my return. The staff are great, communication and hand over is excellent. I particularly love the structure and believe it really prepares them for school.
The food is great and love that snacks are part of the routine too. It's great that everything is provided i.e. suncream and hats, so I don't have to worry.

We have used Milford Day Nursery for both our daughters and they both love the nursery. Staff are the closest thing to family for the girls. Very supportive and helpful and adore our two daughters.

Staff at the nursery are always friendly and approachable, and whenever we've had anything to work through regarding our daughter or her care it has been easily resolved.
Recently, however, staff turnover has been quite high, which is a minor concern of ours.

My son started at Milford at the start of March 2019.
He has settled in really well thanks to the staff there who make him happy. In just a few short weeks, he has already come along. He plays more with children and is getting more independent. The staff are lovely and friendly. Always say hello and
they all seem to know my son's name, including the cook.

Excellent nursery. My little boy really enjoys it. The staff are lovely and very encouraging. His eating has really improved and they've even helped us with techniques to settle him at night which has worked amazingly.

A caring and inclusive environment larger than the previous nursery my son attended but still doesn't have that very large nursery feel. All the staff know the children individually regardless of where they work in the nursery and seem to have a good relationship with the children. Facilities especially
outdoor facilities are very good. Parent feedback on children's progress is good.

Hi, I am Rebecca, the Nursery Manager.


I have worked at Milford since 2004 and I became manager in 2012. I love supporting, caring and working with our families to ensure we provide excellent childcare for their children. I have two children of my own so I am able to work closely with parents that find leaving their children hard and sympathize with the challenges this brings as a parent. My door is always open to everyone.

I have been a part of the team here at Milford for eight years now, and have fulfilled many different roles during this time. I have worked my way up from a nursery nurse to my current position of Deputy Manager, gaining lots of valuable experience along the way.


I thoroughly enjoy working to support all our families and children at the nursery and love how no two days are ever the same in childcare.


I have a little girl of my own who I absolutely adore and we enjoy lots of traveling in our spare time.
