Hillside House Nursery - Lyth Hill

Hillside is an excellent nursery with a great blend of being educational as well as homely. Both our children love the nursery setting and can’t wait to get in the car every morning. What makes Hillside stand out is the staff, each one cares about the children they look after and provides the best care. We really cannot fault Hillside House Nursery.

My only negative is that one day she will have to leave and go to school, I am sure that will be a very sad day for us.

What a wonderful safe place where you feel your children are being looked after to the highest standard. The staff are so welcoming and fantastic with the children. Our little one is currently 13 months old and the settling in process has been exceptional. Our little one is so relaxed attending and has the best time. It really is a special place, the staff, its surroundings and just the feel of the nursery is second to none! Highly recommend to anyone who wants their children to be looked after by the most loveliest people.

Fantastic nursery with amazing staff in a beautiful setting. Would recommend to any parent wanting the best care for their little ones and I would never use anyone else if I needed a nursery again in the future.

Our daughter attended Hillside nursery from just over 1-year-old up to starting school at 4. It is a lovely setting, with a very friendly and efficient manager. We have loved the childcare provision and extra activities like dance sessions and football offered to our daughter and she has thrived there. The personal touches are lovely, with your child receiving a gift (book) every birthday and Christmas, and they take photos and keep a record book of your child's activities and progress throughout their time at the nursery, which is given to you when they leave. You can see your child grow and how they've got involved in things, wonderful to cherish. Our daughter has learnt many valuable skills from an early age at the setting, such as counting and letters, baking, manners and hygiene. We have recommended the nursery to friends and would definitely recommend it to other parents.

Our little girl has been at Hillside since she was 12 months old. From day one we have felt confident that she is well cared for and happy there, the staff are wonderfully caring. The countryside setting is just beautiful, with home-cooked food and great opportunities for the children - baking, drama, forest school to name a few. She has developed so much in confidence and independence and has made some lovely friends. We couldn’t recommend this nursery more.

Our eldest attended Hillside from 2.5 years until school age, and our youngest now 17 months old has been attending since he was 9 months old. The genuine care and attention the staff have given both my children is totally invaluable. Like a previous reviewer said, they manage to make you feel like your child is the more special and important child there - there is something very special about that. I felt totally reassured when my youngest started at just 9 months old. And my eldest still talks about Hillside with great fondness. I cannot rate them highly enough. They all do an amazing job and it is clear they care passionately about the children.

My two boys have both attended Hillside since they turned one, and I would highly recommend the nursery to everyone. Both boys have got so much out of their time spent in nursery, and their development has come on so well. They have always been happy to attend and have got to experience activities I would never have been able to even think of doing at home. The staff are all really helpful and friendly, and the nursery buildings and especially the outside space are outstanding.

A lovely nursery with friendly, welcoming staff. Both of my children went to Hillside House Nursery and they both absolutely loved it there. I never felt worried when dropping my children off because I knew they would be treated like family by experienced staff who genuinely cared about their wellbeing and happiness. They always went in with smiles on their faces and they came home happy, with lots of stories about the lovely things they did all day. Hillside House also really helped get my children ready for school, and they gave them a really good start in their education too. I simply cannot recommend this nursery enough. We’re just sad that we won’t get to visit anymore now that both my children are in school.

We were told by friends to look at nurseries - then go to Hillside, it felt strides ahead of other facilities, and it has proved to exceed even those high expectations. (Attended from 10-months to 4.5years). I am sure every parent feels the same, but Hillside seems to treat every child as the most important child in the place. All the staff have built strong relationships with our daughter, and she enjoyed every second of her time there. She has now progressed to school, and the step has been taken easily due to the preparation and confidence instilled by Hillside. The communication has been fantastic even with the COVID restrictions in place. Any queries have been dealt with quickly.

Our eldest child attended Hillside House from 18-months-old until school age. The staff in all of the rooms were attentive and caring. The help and support our son received were excellent, and he developed strong relationships with the staff and other children. We would recommend this nursery and preschool.
