It's a really nice environment for children - one of mine came out the other end thriving and ready for school, the other is halfway through and loves it. The staff are brilliant, very caring and we have no doubts at all every day we leave children there for the day. Thanks to all staff there for the
continued care of our child!

Nothing has ever been too much for the staff. They have helped, supported and guided. My boy's love not just their key workers but the other staff too. I get told so many brilliant and positive stories on our car rides home.
They have cared for my little one with complicated allergies like pros. They
home cook everything and plan special meals for his requirements.
To leave your child in someone else's care is a big deal, and the staff have supported not just my kids but also myself when I cried. I cherish their continued help, support and care.
The biggest thing is that each and every member of staff truly cares. That is rare, and this place is a jewel.

My son has recently settled into the baby room at Birlingham (Busy Bees) Treetops and we are delighted. The ladies have taken excellent care of him and he has really connected with them very quickly. They go above and beyond to take excellent care of him and we are so grateful. They have got to know
him very quickly and made a real effort to settle him quickly and smoothly. Thank you to the room manager and all the team.

My son has been attending here for over two years and thoroughly enjoys it, every day he can tell us the different things he has done and show us what he has created. He loves the garden too. The staff are excellent, caring and I feel they are genuinely interested in my sons development.

Our daughter took a while to settle into the nursery, however, the staff worked really well to make us and our daughter feel comfortable. She is now very happy and confident and has come on leaps and bounds. Thank you Treetops.

Turned up for my son's parents evening to be left stood outside on a freezing evening even though the staff had seen me and knew I was there. This is incredibly rude and when a lady came out after seeing me about to leave she said that they didn't know who I was - answer the door and ask then!

I

was extremely annoyed with the rudeness of the staff over this which is a shame as my son is happy there and to be fair the child care is very good.

But the rudeness of staff.......is it because all men are regarded as suspicious? I was made to feel that way. Whatever the reason, it is extremely offensive and I missed my son's parents evening because I felt unwelcome there. Staff need basic manners.

Reply from Lisa O'Neill, Nursery Manager at Busy Bees BirlinghamThank you for taking the time to review. As discussed in person, that evening before you came inside for your son's parents evening the front door to the nursery had been monitored by staff. This was to welcome parents in and show them to the room in which their child's key person was waiting. Unfortunately, as you arrived at the door management were showing a family to their room. As you can appreciate parents evenings can be a very busy time which resulted in your temporary wait at the door. However, within minutes we invited you in to start your son's parents evening where his mother was waiting for you.

Also discussed that evening, it was possible that it looked like the staff could see you waiting, however, as you know when it is dark outside but lights on inside you see a reflection rather than objects or people, so maybe it was just a misunderstanding. It was suggested that this is what had happened initially which resulted in the temporary wait outside. After speaking with all the staff that evening, unfortunately, they just didn't see you to let you in due to it being dark.

Safeguarding our children, families and staff is paramount. We encourage parents not to let others in behind them and to ask them to wait for a member of staff to let them in. We have had positive feedback from parents regarding this as they understand the importance of safeguarding and are happy that we are keeping their children safe. We do have a couple of new staff and from time to time on our busier days, we may have support workers helping. These members of staff may not yet know all of the parents and we ask that if they are not sure to inform management so that checks can be carried out. This follows our Safeguarding policies and procedures which we are very proud of as the safety of the children always comes first.

Head Office is currently addressing the lighting so that there will be additional lighting on the car park so hopefully this will make a difference for future darker evenings and mornings.

I am happy you decided to come in to the nursery for your son’s parents evening so the staff could share all of the fantastic progress your son has achieved. I'm pleased you enjoyed looking through his learning journey and spent time with the room staff talking about his milestones and development.
Your feedback is important to us as we aim for outstanding parent partnership. Please feel free to speak to management if you have any further feedback.

Having to leave my children all day is really hard for me, but it's a lot easier knowing they enjoy where they are and are looked after.
The staff are very professional in the way they present themselves and the way they are with the children.
I am really happy and so are my children.
They are learning
new things every time they attend and it makes me feel proud.

Our child recently turned three so we were able to take advantage of 30 hrs free childcare. Despite the local council releasing guidance very late in the process, the staff at Treetops (Birlingham) were extremely helpful and reassuring, helping us navigate the pitfalls. In general, our children are
wonderfully cared for. We drop the children off assured that they will have a safe, productive, fun and healthy day. Complete confidence.

My three-year-old son and one-year-old daughter attend Treetops 2/3 days a week and they both love it.
The staff are friendly, communication is very good with parents evenings to let me know how they are developing. I can always ask for advice when I need it.
Most importantly, my children are happy
and well looked after.

Treetops is a great nursery setting. My son has attended since October 2016 in the Clever Crocs pre-school room. I have been extremely pleased with the level of care provided. My son settled in very quickly and is a happy boy who rarely complains about having to go to nursery. The staff make sure all
the children have plenty of activities and regularly base work around topics. I am very pleased with his progress under their care.

My daughter has attended since she was 17 months old for just over a year and we have found Treetops excellent at caring for her. Meals are included which we've found very helpful and adds good variation to her diet as she tends to eat better at nursery than at home.

Staff always phone promptly

if there is any problem (sickness etc) and are very competent and caring. The facilities are good, including a lovely outdoor play area.
Various themes of learning/play keep things interesting from term to term. My daughter enjoys going there and has made nice friends.

Since moving our child to Treetops Birlingham, we've had an excellent experience. All the staff helped us to settle our child very quickly and gave continued support to ensure our child was happy.

We receive good ongoing feedback about our child's development and gave us opportunities for our child

to interact across his class, which helped him to settle and develop relationships. The staff are always friendly and very helpful and take time to understand our needs and our child's needs.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.917)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.917) out of 10 for Busy Bees Birlingham is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 26 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.917 for Busy Bees Birlingham is calculated as follows: ( (286 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 312 Ratings = 4.917
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Birlingham is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 62 number of registered child places is 12.4, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
