Westwood is a purpose-built 70 place day nursery of the highest quality.

Westwood provides a happy, sociable environment where every child is treated as an individual.

The nursery has 5 main playrooms, all with their own individual outdoor spaces. It also consists of sensory areas and designated sleeping areas.

Outside is a fully enclosed and well equipped garden with astro turf and patio areas as well as designated areas for creative play, role play and digging. The nursery also organises social events including fundraising, parents evenings and stay and play afternoons.

Westwood Day Nursery also offer the extracurricular activity of Drama Tots on Thursday afternoons, alternating to a different room each week.

Westwood gives children the opportunity to both work and play in cheerful and stimulating surroundings.

The nursery is above and beyond, very friendly staff and they form excellent bonds with the kids. They are always helpful and happy!
They organise many activities outside of nursery and training sessions i.e. Summer fete, first aid training, potty training workshops etc.
Excellent nursery and amazing
staff! 100% recommend.

Westwood Day Nursery (Coventry) is a special place. I attended my son's graduation from preschool today. The thought and care put into organising the event was incredible. The staff are all so kind, supporting the children. I will miss them dearly and would recommend the nursery in a flash.

My son joined in September 2017 and I've been amazed by his development since.
The staff here are very professional, knowledgeable and I feel confident my child is safe and happy. It didn't take long for him to settle in and now he loves going often not wanting to leave Westwood Day Nursery was definitely
the right choice for my son but also for our family.

Outstanding! The nursery and staff are exceptionally professional and helpful. My daughter was struggling to settle into nursery and Westwood made it so pleasant and simple. All of the staff are so willing to help and update of progress and issues. They've well and truly earned the outstanding OFSTED

It is going to be a year since we joined Westwood Day Nursery and I cannot be happier that we chose to bring our child to this nursery. All the staff are just wonderful, they treat our child with so much love that we feel really relaxed to leave him while we are working. They supported me from the very
beginning in my breastfeeding journey, which was very important to us. And they also keep on guiding me on whatever aspect I am concerned about. The environment is engaging, attractive and cosy and the staff make it just perfect.


They support the development of each child at their own pace and that is what we want for our child. We don't have enough words to express all the gratitude for the nursery staff contribution to our child's development.

Our son was at Westwood for 3.5 years and we attribute a lot of his development to the positive environment at Westwood. He has left as a happy and confident 4 year old, ready to move onto school. Will be sending our daughter there in 2018.

My child has been in Westwood now since he was one and is now starting school in a few months. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they have given him. I have seen him develop extensively and learn invaluable skills throughout his time at nursery, whilst abiding by the nursery 'Golden Values'
which I have reciprocated at home.


The management has continuously been supportive with all matters and communicate effortlessly via newsletters and in person. All in all, I can just say one word to the nursery and staff - Thank you!

Westwood Day Nursery (Coventry) has been nothing short of a second home to my 2 children! My eldest aged 5 often returns to pick up his younger sister aged 2.5 years and he always enjoys going back and has often asked if he can stay himself - if that's not the sign of a positive experience...!! The
dedicated, friendly welcoming and warm staff are what make this place so special. The facilities are great, toys in abundance and the building itself is very well maintained. If I only knew the secrets of the chef as both my children enjoy meal times at nursery! On the odd occasion where we have faced an issue, it's been dealt with professionalism compassion and a real desire to fix the problem. I've been and continue to remain happy with my choice of nursery for my most prized people - my children!

Westwood Nursery is a fabulous setting, which both my children love coming to. They are incredibly well bonded to their key workers and engage with staff well, are always happy to spend time there.
The facilities and learning opportunities are brilliant and my children's social development has been
great.
I couldn't recommend the nursery and the staff more. I will be sad when my eldest child leaves for school this summer.

Despite my son's regular and long attendance at this nursery, the progression to another room threw him, making morning drop offs a difficult and stressful situation. Needless to say, the staff picked up on this and have been outstanding in assisting us to adjust to the new room. A massive thank you
to management and the room staff for their continued efforts and support. Another example of how this nursery excels in assisting individuals' needs and works with parents to meet these needs. Thank you.

I am very happy to see my son's progress here. I was concerned before starting day care whether my son would receive that same attention, but I am pleased to say that I have no concerns now. My son looks forward to going to nursery every day and when I pick him up in the evening he is always so joyful.

I have two children that attended Westwood Day Nursery one in Caterpillars and one in Bumblebee's. They have both been attending the nursery since a young age and love it. They both have a good bond with their key worker and all staff at nursery know the children and greet them every day. My children
enjoy the activities and also love the dance lady and music man that come to nursery weekly. I highly recommend Westwood Day Nursery as both my children are really happy.

My child has been attending Westwood Day Nursery since September 2016. The staff have been brilliant, welcoming my daughter and settling her into nursery. My daughter has a close bond with all staff in her room, especially her key worker. My daughter is really happy at nursery, enjoying all the activities
and experiences that comes with the nursery. She also enjoys all the messy play activities that are facilitated by staff and also enjoys her rooms garden. I feel I have a good relationship with the nursery which I feel, as a parent, is very important. There is an open door policy at the nursery and feel all staff and management are always available to help. I would recommend this nursery.

My daughter has learnt so many new things and talks about them on our way home. She has grown in confidence and really looks forward to her time there, enjoying varying activities and great 'home cooked' food.
The nursery is very welcoming, with friendly, helpful staff and a clean environment.

Lyndsey Matthews

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2005

Lyndsey is currently the Manager of Westwood Day Nursery in Coventry and has a wealth of experience, having worked with children for the past 20 years. Lyndsey has 18 years of experience in Early Years, all of which were with Childbase where she started as an Apprentice, progressing from a qualified practitioner to room leader, team leader and then Deputy. Lyndsey is NVQ Level 3 qualified in Children's Care, Learning and Development.


What is your favourite feature of your nursery?
The fact the rooms have their own gardens and can free flow throughout the day.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
The relationships we have with our parents, the staff know the families so well including myself which means we are able to support them in all areas of their lives. It also means they are so much more engaged when it comes to events at nursery.
