Westwood is a purpose-built 70 place day nursery of the highest quality.

Westwood provides a happy, sociable environment where every child is treated as an individual.

The nursery has 5 main playrooms, all with their own individual outdoor spaces. It also consists of sensory areas and designated sleeping areas.

Outside is a fully enclosed and well equipped garden with astro turf and patio areas as well as designated areas for creative play, role play and digging. The nursery also organises social events including fundraising, parents evenings and stay and play afternoons.

Westwood Day Nursery also offer the extracurricular activity of Drama Tots on Thursday afternoons, alternating to a different room each week.

Westwood gives children the opportunity to both work and play in cheerful and stimulating surroundings.

We've had a wonderful experience with the staff at Westwood. Our son started part-time at four and a half months old and has been made to feel so welcome, we feel he has made real connections with his room team, and with the wider nursery staff. He's so taken by his room staff, and hardly ever says
bye when we drop him off, he's too excited to go play. He is very well supported in his development and challenged by the environments they set up for him.
On occasion, other family members have collected him and the staff have gone above and beyond to help make that as smooth as possible, which has been truly appreciated.
The team have dealt with the ongoing virus crisis extremely well, we receive regular updates and suggestions of activities, and will be looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.

My son started at Westwood nearly a year ago, I have gone from first time nervous mom to becoming confident in leaving him in the care of the staff at the nursery. My son is very happy while at the nursery and enjoying all the indoor and outdoor activities. He is learning and exploring every day, achieving
his milestones which makes us happy and proud parents.
My son will be moving to the next room in the near future, hence I hope staff will handle it equally well, being sensitive towards his needs.
My only concern is about his eating. It should be considered as part of his overall development, to try different methods to encourage him to eat well.
Overall we’re really happy we chose this nursery.

Since my son started at Westwood Day Nursery he has really developed. He struggled to settle in at first, but the staff were really patient and reassuring with both him and us! My son now loves coming into nursery and I trust that he will have a lovely day with lots of activities.

I recommend the nursery to anyone who is looking for recommendations for nurseries as I cannot recommend them enough. We moved 45 minutes away and still kept our children here as they love it so much. The staff are amazing and do such a great job. Thank you, everyone.

At Westwood Day Nursery my daughter is always greeted warmly in the morning and I can go to work knowing she has gone into her room happy. At Westwood, she gets to be a part of a wide variety of activities that help to develop her understanding and knowledge of different concepts that I would struggle
to teach her about at home. Her language has blossomed in the last few months and this is down to the enthusiastic staff having conversations with her and allowing her the time to talk and be herself.

Staff are knowledgable and welcoming. My daughter has been in the nursery for a year and a quarter and her confidence has developed lots in this time. Both of my daughters have attended this nursery and we couldn't be happier with the service provided. The meals are all made fresh on the day and there is always so much variety, we are confident our daughter has eaten well. My daughter has attended this nursery for nearly 9 months now and the standard of care that has been provided has been exceptional. Nothing is ever too much trouble and I feel very comfortable asking questions too which for me is very important. It's such a hard decision to hand over care of your child
but this nursery goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and at ease. She is developing so well now and I’m so proud of how much she has learnt. All of the nursery staff are so friendly and welcoming it’s such a warm environment.

My daughter joined nursery recently and we have seen improvements in her. My daughter has explained the target set for her in the next 6 weeks to address her communication skills. We recently had a parent's meeting on 8/11/18 with staff and she briefed us about our daughter and her day-to-day behaviour.
It was good to know how my daughter has been observed. We also liked the targets set by staff to improve our daughter's skill set. We think our daughter needs to be challenged at different levels than normal and the staff has promised to look into this. Thank you, we were all very impressed by Diwali 2018 decoration and all staff are great.

Lyndsey Matthews

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2005

Lyndsey is currently the Manager of Westwood Day Nursery in Coventry and has a wealth of experience, having worked with children for the past 20 years. Lyndsey has 18 years of experience in Early Years, all of which were with Childbase where she started as an Apprentice, progressing from a qualified practitioner to room leader, team leader and then Deputy. Lyndsey is NVQ Level 3 qualified in Children's Care, Learning and Development.


What is your favourite feature of your nursery?
The fact the rooms have their own gardens and can free flow throughout the day.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
The relationships we have with our parents, the staff know the families so well including myself which means we are able to support them in all areas of their lives. It also means they are so much more engaged when it comes to events at nursery.
