Westwood is a purpose-built 70 place day nursery of the highest quality.

Westwood provides a happy, sociable environment where every child is treated as an individual.

The nursery has 5 main playrooms, all with their own individual outdoor spaces. It also consists of sensory areas and designated sleeping areas.

Outside is a fully enclosed and well equipped garden with astro turf and patio areas as well as designated areas for creative play, role play and digging. The nursery also organises social events including fundraising, parents evenings and stay and play afternoons.

Westwood Day Nursery also offer the extracurricular activity of Drama Tots on Thursday afternoons, alternating to a different room each week.

Westwood gives children the opportunity to both work and play in cheerful and stimulating surroundings.

Would highly recommend the nursery, everyone is extremely friendly.
I feel he is taken good care of, and I have no worries with him being there for the day.
The times are great as I start work early in the morning.

I can not praise Westwood Day Nursery enough for how amazing it is. My child started back in June and having been away for so long I expected some sort of resistance, however, with the help of happy encouraging staff who come outside to greet him every day, this makes dropping him off and going in
so easy. I find that he is happy and content at the nursery and looks forward to going. He gets the best variety of meals and snacks there which is brilliant as he can be fussy at home but seems to eat everything made at nursery!
I would also like to praise the nursery for how well they kept in touch with us parents over the months they were closed. We had emails giving us activities to do each week. Ideas on how to keep on little ones engaged and learning, and also how the nursery was making the changes to welcome us back. These emails and information were vital in keeping our spirits up and knowing that it wouldn't be long before they would be back playing with their friends.

My youngest son is nearing the end of his time at Westwood, having attended full time from 10 months - his starting school in September will mark the first time in six and a half years that we haven't had a child at Westwood. Both of our boys loved their time - the staff are caring and encouraging,
and forge great bonds with the children. The catering is outstanding with a good range of fresh healthy meals cooked on site, and dietary requirements, including vegetarian in our case, well catered for - we've especially appreciated being able to arrange for the kitchen to create birthday cakes that all of the children are able to share and enjoy. The space is kept clean and the range of toys and learning resources is excellent. Our boys have been very happy, and from pre-school, very well prepared for the transition to school. They will miss Westwood, and so will we.

Amazing nursery - so supportive of parents and children. My son looks forward to going every day. Wish he could stay there forever as they have developed him so well in all skills. Looking forward to my newborn also attending. Always highly recommend this nursery.

Westwood nursery has been our nursery of choice for 6 years now. My elder son was here from the age of 10 months - 4 years old. Now my youngest son is here - he absolutely loves it! Both have flourished here and are so content. The staff are always approachable, friendly and great at giving advice.
They focus on building solid relationships with the children and care for them very well. I have already recommended this nursery to family and friends. Keep up the amazing work that you all do - thank you.

Both of my children have attended Westwood and even though there is 5 years between them the care they both received about been outstanding. The meals that are provided have such a good balance and my daughter always enjoys them. Although this has been a tricky time nursery has continued to support
us as a family sending emails of updates and activities to do. They have really supported my daughter with the transition of coming back into nursery after 4 months away. Also, the staff are all amazing and so caring.

My 2-year-old daughter has been attending this nursery for a year now and we are very happy with her placement. They do a good mix of activities and learning and lots of outdoor time. I also like that they give a great variety of food at mealtimes. The staff are great and very helpful and happy to answer
any questions. My daughter is always excited to go and see her friends and the staff, I would highly recommend Westwood.

We have had nothing but a positive experience with this nursery. Our daughter has been there for about 6 months and she loves it as well as everyone who cares for her. Her development is recorded and we are involved in all of it. During COVID and reopening they have been outstanding at making us comfortable

Since my child joined nursery in 2017, my daughter has developed in so many ways. She is more confident and balanced and loves going to the nursery every afternoon. We love all the teachers who are warm, caring and very professional. I would definitely recommend this nursery to other parents. Thank

We cannot fault this nursery - all staff go above and beyond their duties and we are so pleased that we chose this nursery for our son. He has been attending the nursery 2 days per week for almost 2 years now and we are extremely happy to see the bond he has made between his key workers and the other

I couldn’t rate Westwood any higher. The staff are all amazing, the building is great for kids. Both my children have loved nursery and all the teachers. I couldn’t fault anything at all. Such a lovely and nurturing environment.

My son has attended Westwood Day Nursery parttime since he was 11 months old (he turns three this month). Throughout this time, I have been nothing but impressed by the lovely nursery staff, range of educational activities, outside facilities and high standards of cleanliness. I have happily recommended
the nursery to friends and colleagues.
The atmosphere is so warm, welcoming and friendly and my son absolutely loves his time here. Everyone welcomes him by name with a big smile each morning and I feel completely comfortable leaving him in their care. Nothing is ever too much trouble and I feel that I can mention any questions or concerns and the staff will happily advise us using their wealth of experience and knowledge about my son.
It truly feels like a home from home for my son and he has developed so much in his time here. He can't wait to return back to nursery and see all of his friends, as soon as it is safe to do so.

My daughter loves the nursery and loves to wave to all the staff as she leaves. The times she is sad when we are dropping her off, she will go to them for comfort but that seems to be quite rare, as she tends to go up to them for cuddles regardless. She seems to have a healthier and more varied diet
than myself and she always seems to come home with new skills.

I cannot recommend Westwood enough.
Both of our children are there and they are so happy, cared for, nurtured and looked after.
To leave them there when I go to work is akin to leaving them with family. It is such a perfect place and when the time comes for them to move on, we’ll (and our children
will too no doubt) be so sad. Thank you to all of the staff there for all that they do.

We've had a wonderful experience with the staff at Westwood. Our son started part-time at four and a half months old and has been made to feel so welcome, we feel he has made real connections with his room team, and with the wider nursery staff. He's so taken by his room staff, and hardly ever says
bye when we drop him off, he's too excited to go play. He is very well supported in his development and challenged by the environments they set up for him.
On occasion, other family members have collected him and the staff have gone above and beyond to help make that as smooth as possible, which has been truly appreciated.
The team have dealt with the ongoing virus crisis extremely well, we receive regular updates and suggestions of activities, and will be looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.

My son started at Westwood nearly a year ago, I have gone from first time nervous mom to becoming confident in leaving him in the care of the staff at the nursery. My son is very happy while at the nursery and enjoying all the indoor and outdoor activities. He is learning and exploring every day, achieving
his milestones which makes us happy and proud parents.
My son will be moving to the next room in the near future, hence I hope staff will handle it equally well, being sensitive towards his needs.
My only concern is about his eating. It should be considered as part of his overall development, to try different methods to encourage him to eat well.
Overall we’re really happy we chose this nursery.

Lyndsey Matthews

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2005

Lyndsey is currently the Manager of Westwood Day Nursery in Coventry and has a wealth of experience, having worked with children for the past 20 years. Lyndsey has 18 years of experience in Early Years, all of which were with Childbase where she started as an Apprentice, progressing from a qualified practitioner to room leader, team leader and then Deputy. Lyndsey is NVQ Level 3 qualified in Children's Care, Learning and Development.


What is your favourite feature of your nursery?
The fact the rooms have their own gardens and can free flow throughout the day.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
The relationships we have with our parents, the staff know the families so well including myself which means we are able to support them in all areas of their lives. It also means they are so much more engaged when it comes to events at nursery.
