Westwood is a purpose-built 70 place day nursery of the highest quality.

Westwood provides a happy, sociable environment where every child is treated as an individual.

The nursery has 5 main playrooms, all with their own individual outdoor spaces. It also consists of sensory areas and designated sleeping areas.

Outside is a fully enclosed and well equipped garden with astro turf and patio areas as well as designated areas for creative play, role play and digging. The nursery also organises social events including fundraising, parents evenings and stay and play afternoons.

Westwood Day Nursery also offer the extracurricular activity of Drama Tots on Thursday afternoons, alternating to a different room each week.

Westwood gives children the opportunity to both work and play in cheerful and stimulating surroundings.

Our son has been at the nursery since 10-months-old, he's recently left to start school and the knowledge and social skills he learned from nursery have made the transition as natural as possible for him and us. He's always being complemented by teachers on how kind and grown-up he is. His confidence
is definitely a credit to the nursery would 10/10 recommend. It was pricey but comparable to other nurseries it's not that bad and it was worth it for all the extras like the food, nappies and even things like suncream.

We have had a daughter attending this nursery since 2019 and our son joined a few months ago. We are very pleased with the nursery so far! We continuously observe a massive boost in the kids’ skills development. It feels like the staff are bonding with the kids and is genuinely interested in their wellbeing.
Any parent knows how challenging it can be with kids, so we do greatly appreciate how tirelessly the staff are managing to keep the kids entertained and active. Needless to say that the level of care is excellent!
There have been a few instances when we needed support and the Westwood team went above and beyond. A well deserved thank you to all the staff engaged directly with the kids, as well as the management!

My daughter was only 6-months-old when she started at Westwood Day Nursery, I have never come across a better nursery.
The women in the caterpillar room have gone above and beyond, as a mother, it’s incredible to know they love and adore my daughter.
The management is also fantastic, so welcoming
and makes sure I am happy with everything.

My son has really flourished since joining the nursery and is clearly having a great time there. His conversation and comprehension in particular have developed at a fantastic place since joining. Every worker there is compassionate, caring and supportive of my son's development; I wouldn't hesitate

We joined in August and I can't praise the team enough. My son absolutely loves coming here now, staff supported him to settle in amazingly and they really do show that they care about each child. Communication is great and if you've ever had a worry or concern staff are great at helping and supporting
with that. My son's come on leaps since attending nursery here and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone.

A very friendly and lovely nursery. Our daughter has been at Westwood since she was 11 months old until the age of 4. She's loved every minute of it and has always come home happy. Our son who is 8, also spent the same amount of time at the nursery before starting school and it has been lovely that
both our children have been exposed to some of the same individuals who work there. The staff are exceptional, go above and beyond and absolutely adore the children that attend the nursery. This shows through the stories we hear after our daughter's nursery sessions on a daily and weekly basis. It was a very sad day picking up our daughter from her last day at nursery as the relationships she has built over the last few years have played such a crucial role in her development and have helped her to become school-ready. We can't thank the whole Westwood team enough for the last 7 years in supporting both our children's needs and development as well as supporting us through the whole journey.

My son has attended Westwood since one year old. I trust everyone there to look after him well and feel safe knowing that while I am working he is being cared for and educated. My son has grown in confidence and has made so many friends while being there. All the hard work his key worker and the rest
of the team has put in I know he is more than ready for ‘big’ school. He will miss everyone at Westwood but I know he has had the best start possible. Every day my son's interests have been the focus around learning, no matter what he likes doing his key worker will introduce learning opportunities. My son doesn’t like writing activities so they have come up with ways to engage him in fun mark making and writing activities. The kitchen team provide freshly made healthy food each day and we are made aware of the meals each day using the app, my son is able to try food that he wouldn’t ordinarily eat. There is also a good range of breakfast and snacks available.

Can’t speak highly enough of Westwood and how it has helped my son's development. He has come on leaps and bounds. The nursery is very accommodating with meal plans which suit us perfectly. He always goes into the nursery with a smile and doesn’t hesitate to walk in.

We couldn't be happier with the nursery. What with lockdown preventing children socialising in the usual way we really noticed a difference in our daughter, particularly since she started nursery. She has really come out of her shell and seems to be developing more and more each week which is a testament
to the staff. Communication is great with regular updates through the day via the app and study contact for anything more urgent or pressing. Would highly recommend.

We were very anxious having to move our two children to a different nursery part-way through the year and during Covid-19 but we definitely made the right choice to move them to Westwood Day Nursery (Coventry). From the first phone call with the manager to enquire about vacancies and now after five
months of them both attending full-time, we can honestly say that Westwood Day Nursery (Coventry) is brilliant. The staff are professional, kind, caring, engaging, fun and full of energy. We have been reassured that our children are being looked after well and that they are being supported to develop as individuals and their voices and interests are recognised. The communication we receive as parents from the nursery is excellent. Both of our children have additional support needs and the nursery have really worked hard to ensure they are supported and included in all activities and that they are working closely with other professionals involved. A fantastic nursery, that we highly recommend!

Lovely friendly nursery and preschool with dedicated outdoor spaces for the children. My son has been here since Caterpillars and once he settled in it has been nothing but wonderful. Of course Covid-19 has changed the drop off process as well as any extra activities, they used to have Dramatots but
I feel strongly that my son has progressed so much in this supportive environment. They cater for many dietary requirements and have been supportive with potty training. I have recommended this nursery to others and would be keen to again and again!

This is one of the best nurseries in Coventry. Staff are awesome as they all have a relationship with all the kids. Westwood nursery is amazing. My little boy loves every day he spends there. They are outstanding at communication and always letting me know how he is and how is getting on. He has come on leaps and bounds with his skills since attending. All of his key workers have been fantastic; they are so kind
and caring. Everyone is always so friendly on arrival and pick up times. I would recommend this nursery to anyone who has children that want to leave them in a kind, caring hands. He always has fun, and it’s so reassuring to know he is cared for as good as being at home.

Enrolling my son at Westwood Nursery is the best decision I have ever made. He went from suffering from severe separation anxiety to a confident, self-assured child. He has loads of friends and is meeting or exceeding all milestones. In my opinion, Westwood played a huge role in this. The keyworkers
worked hard to give him individual attention and support to increase his confidence, and his strong bond with the staff has helped tremendously.


Westwood is laid out well with different activities planned for every day. Even better, these activities are based on the interests of the children currently in their care, and they really allow the children to shape what is planned for the day. Health and safety are taken very seriously, and I am completely confident that my son is safe in their care.


It is clear that the staff are hugely invested in keeping children safe and happy.

Westwood Day Nursery is a warm friendly nursery with such dedicated staff that go above and beyond for the children in their care. My little boy has attended the setting since September and his development has come on a huge deal. He absolutely loves going to nursery. We are kept well informed by ParentZone.

Westwood Day Nursery is a fantastic place for children to learn and develop. My 2 children attend this nursery and my son had special educational needs and the staff and his key workers have helped him massively to overcome any issues and developmental needs he required. He is a very confident and happy
child and he loves to see his friends at nursery and learned so much in the 3 years he has been there. My daughter started 1 year ago and she also loves going to the nursery, the staff keep me up to date on their day via Parentzone, they have worked very hard to keep the nursery open during the Coronovirus pandemic. I highly recommend the nursery to anyone who is looking for a place for their child within the Coventry and Kenilworth area. The management team are always very friendly when I drop and collect my children, I missed the team a lot when they were closed during last years summer lockdown, but they provided many useful resources on their website so I could continue these nursery activities.

Lyndsey Matthews

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2005

Lyndsey is currently the Manager of Westwood Day Nursery in Coventry and has a wealth of experience, having worked with children for the past 20 years. Lyndsey has 18 years of experience in Early Years, all of which were with Childbase where she started as an Apprentice, progressing from a qualified practitioner to room leader, team leader and then Deputy. Lyndsey is NVQ Level 3 qualified in Children's Care, Learning and Development.


What is your favourite feature of your nursery?
The fact the rooms have their own gardens and can free flow throughout the day.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
The relationships we have with our parents, the staff know the families so well including myself which means we are able to support them in all areas of their lives. It also means they are so much more engaged when it comes to events at nursery.
