Westwood is a purpose-built 70 place day nursery of the highest quality.

Westwood provides a happy, sociable environment where every child is treated as an individual.

The nursery has 5 main playrooms, all with their own individual outdoor spaces. It also consists of sensory areas and designated sleeping areas.

Outside is a fully enclosed and well equipped garden with astro turf and patio areas as well as designated areas for creative play, role play and digging. The nursery also organises social events including fundraising, parents evenings and stay and play afternoons.

Westwood Day Nursery also offer the extracurricular activity of Drama Tots on Thursday afternoons, alternating to a different room each week.

Westwood gives children the opportunity to both work and play in cheerful and stimulating surroundings.

My daughter spent a year at Westwood Day Nursery. She enjoyed every moment and had a wonderful time. The staff were professional and she loved them all. She learnt a lot and progressed very well. We are really grateful for everything.

My eldest daughter has just finished pre-school and my youngest has just started in Ladybirds. After such a positive and nurturing nursery experience for my eldest, we knew we had to also send our youngest to Westwood too. All staff, once again, have been so friendly, reassuring and encouraging in settling
my youngest. The settle sessions, key worker alignment and various methods used (family book, registration forms with her interests and abilities) have all allowed her to ease in and feel comfortable really quickly. The Ladybirds staff have taken time to get to know her and the feedback via the app and on collection is so insightful and appreciated. I am confident that she will enjoy and flourish at nursery just like her big sister. Thank you all for your continued efforts.

My two boys have had the best time at Westwood Day Nursery and as a parent, I can't find fault the care and expertise provided by all the staff. The nursery has become an extension of our home and both boys have grown in confidence. I have and will continue to recommend Westwood Day Nursery to friends

We've used Westwood Day Nursery for two of my children over the last four years or so. It's been a great environment for my children to grow and learn under the supervision of staff that really seem to care about my children's progression. The facilities, food and resources were great and the staff
were always really friendly, approachable and engaged really well with the children. Thank you to all the team! Would 100% recommend!

My eldest child has been at Westwood since he was a baby up until starting school. The entire experience, from start to finish, through the Covid lockdown and out the other side, has been fantastic. The staff and their culture are wonderful. Everyone is friendly, helpful and most of all, energetic and
encouraging towards the children. My younger child has also attended Westwood and both finish each day happy and stimulated. I am very pleased with the decision we made to send them to Westwood. Our children will miss the staff there as they move on, but we've really appreciated everything the nursery has done for them. I would absolutely recommend Westwood to family and friends.

The staff at Westwood Day Nursery are so kind, caring and friendly, my daughter has loved her time here and I’m sad it’s coming to an end. They really do go the extra mile to get to know your child and encourage their development. Everyone genuinely cares and my daughter's confidence and pre-school
skills have flourished. The app is amazing too, I love receiving updates and pictures to brighten up my day.
Thank you Westwood Day Nursery for a wonderful experience, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this nursery but hurry as there can be a long waiting list!

Westwood Day Nursery have been absolutely amazing over the last two years, with the help and continuous support provided by all the staff, I have watched my child grow into an amazing confident and bright little person. From the kitchen staff through to the management every member of staff have gotten
to know my child and engaged with them on a daily basis and become what they call their grown up best friends! The continued work they have all done to prepare my child for the transition to primary school has been outstanding and the encouragement and support provided to promote independence in most daily tasks has really helped, we’ve worked together and had continuity in all aspects of learning from toileting to table manners. I believe this nursery has really given my child one of the best starts to an educational setting and so much love and support every step of the way. I couldn’t have asked for a better nursery!

My son started at Westwood Day Nursery when he was approximately eight months old, he has moved up through the rooms happily as all the staff made him feel comfortable and welcome. He has gained skills and confidence with the help of the staff. He has made friends for life here and I know he will miss
all the staff when he starts school. From a parent's point of view, the staff are all friendly and approachable, any queries are dealt with quickly and they make you feel very welcome. Would recommend Westwood Day Nursery.

Really pleased with the overall care that my son receives from Westwood Day Nursery. His development since coming to the nursery is wonderful to see. The staff are all always friendly and positive. Our son has been at the nursery from the age of one and we cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff are brilliant and have built great relationships with our son. His language and confidence have developed so well, and it's a testament to the teachers. You receive regular updates in person and over
the app as to how your child is settling in and progressing, and there are targeted areas for development that the staff work on. Will definitely be sending our second child here when he is old enough! The staff are also extremely flexible and understanding when dealing with unforeseen circumstances at home.

When my child started over a year ago I was really overwhelmed leaving him but the staff at Westwood are amazing and ensured both my child and I had a smooth transition. The ladies in the caterpillar room are very attentive to my child’s needs, they are amazing and helpful.

Our child has been attending Westwood Day Nursery for the last 2 years and we are extremely happy. The staff are lovely, they keep us updated with what is going on daily using the app. He is always happy, coming back home telling us all about his day, his friends and the activities.
He is now in preschool
and we can see the progress and his development. I highly recommend the nursery.

Fantastic nursery with really wonderful staff. My daughter has been going for over a year and a half, three days a week and she loves it. Lyndsey

Lyndsey Matthews

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2005

Lyndsey is currently the Manager of Westwood Day Nursery in Coventry and has a wealth of experience, having worked with children for the past 20 years. Lyndsey has 18 years of experience in Early Years, all of which were with Childbase where she started as an Apprentice, progressing from a qualified practitioner to room leader, team leader and then Deputy. Lyndsey is NVQ Level 3 qualified in Children's Care, Learning and Development.


What is your favourite feature of your nursery?
The fact the rooms have their own gardens and can free flow throughout the day.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
The relationships we have with our parents, the staff know the families so well including myself which means we are able to support them in all areas of their lives. It also means they are so much more engaged when it comes to events at nursery.
