Westwood is a purpose-built 70 place day nursery of the highest quality.

Westwood provides a happy, sociable environment where every child is treated as an individual.

The nursery has 5 main playrooms, all with their own individual outdoor spaces. It also consists of sensory areas and designated sleeping areas.

Outside is a fully enclosed and well equipped garden with astro turf and patio areas as well as designated areas for creative play, role play and digging. The nursery also organises social events including fundraising, parents evenings and stay and play afternoons.

Westwood Day Nursery also offer the extracurricular activity of Drama Tots on Thursday afternoons, alternating to a different room each week.

Westwood gives children the opportunity to both work and play in cheerful and stimulating surroundings.

Despite visiting multiple nurseries to ensure we chose one that ticked all boxes and gave us confidence that our little one would be well looked after and cared for, naturally, we were still nervous when we first enrolled. However, any worries were soon replaced with relief and peace of mind that we'd
made the right decision. Being new parents, the first few days/weeks of dropping off were difficult and a little emotional for us to say the least, but your welcoming approach was always comforting and reassuring, which definitely made it much easier for us as time went on and those gestures were felt each day, from the first settling in session, right up until we left.
To see the development and growth both in confidence and character has been simply beautiful, and we can't thank you enough for the time, effort and encouragement that you've all given. We're forever grateful and appreciative of what you've done for us, and very happy we chose you for our first-ever nursery experience.

Both our daughters have been to Westwood Day Nursery and we have built an excellent relationship with the staff who has been so supportive of our child’s growth and overall development.
Thanks so much for your patience, love, care and support that has always meant a lot to us. We will really cherish
all the memories our kids and we have had over the last few years (2018-2023) that we have been part of this amazing nursery.
We hope you continue doing superbly well in playing an important part in helping little kids outshine and flourish.
It’s been a great journey and we will miss seeing the wonderful staff.
All the best and thanks for all that you have done for our girls.

My two boys seem happy at Westwood Day Nursery (Coventry), there are no more tears at drop off, and they enjoy the food, activities, and the outdoor space.
Westwood also assesses a child's wellbeing, raising a hearing/speech issue for my son which I hadn't noticed because I don't know any other children
his age. So they can be trusted to help identify missed milestones which I think is superb.
The rooms and halls are always clean, the staff are always very friendly, cheerful and helpful.

My daughter has been attending Westwood Day Nursery (Coventry) for 15 months now and absolutely loves it. Everyone knows her by name and staff take an interest in every child regardless of whether they are their keyworker/work in their room. Unfortunately, personal circumstances and a change of job
means that my daughter will be leaving in July which I'm gutted about as she has come on in leaps and bounds since she started. I can't rate the team at Westwood Day Nursery (Coventry)highly enough and I know myself and my daughter will miss them all.

Our experience at Westwood Day Nursery was truly unforgettable. The exceptional care, unwavering support and boundless love given to our child made a huge difference to his growth and development.
The teachers and staff at Westwood Day Nursery consistently demonstrated professionalism, kindness and
genuine caring. In the face of the challenges of the pandemic, the extraordinary support from staff, especially in the Bumblebees room, gave us solace and strength.
During our son's transition to the pre-school we were thrilled to see his newfound confidence and development of various skills. Everyone at the nursery played a vital role in creating a positive and nurturing environment for learning and play, which contributed to our child's development and accelerated his progress.
As we say goodbye, we would like to emphasise that we are extremely grateful for the exceptional care, abundant love and solid educational foundation provided for our child. Thank you for being an exceptional nursery.

My baby and toddler are both at Westwood Day Nursery and are looked after fantastically by everyone. All the staff say hello to the parents and children every morning - it’s like a home away from home. The activities are fab - more than what we would do at home and their dietary requirements are well

My son has been attending this nursery since December 2022 and has settled in really well. The staff are all very friendly and attentive to him and I feel welcomed every time I pick him up or drop him off. We are kept well informed of his development progress and daily we receive regular updates through
the app on how he’s getting on at nursery on that day. The room he is in is always very clean and inviting and he has lots of activities to keep him busy. There are weekly newsletters which let you know what the children are learning at nursery and parents are kept well informed of what is going on at the nursery including any special events. I would recommend this nursery to any parents looking for somewhere to send their child to.

An outstanding nursery on all parts. We are so so extremely grateful that our daughter is thriving and it's down to the incredible staff at Westwood. I work long hours and I am extremely relieved that I never worry about my child - in fact, she eats better at nursery than she does at home! At not even
2 years old, she has a strong vocabulary and talks about all of her nursery friends when she gets home. Westwood feels like a family; everyone is kind and welcoming and shows a genuine interest and warmth to my child. We are so extremely lucky to have this as our nursery.

My children have been attending Westwood Day Nursery for two months and I could not be happier with the standards of all aspects of the nursery.
Staff have taken the time to really understand my children (twins, 14 months) and allow them to settle as individuals whilst also respecting their bonds as
brothers.
We have also recently been understanding food intolerances with one child and the staff have been fully supportive and helped us to navigate through this.
The feedback we get throughout the day and upon collection allows me to know that the boys are settled and happy and any challenges they've faced that day. It has struck a good balance of keeping me informed that my children are happy and safe, but also allowing me to get on with work.
The boys have really flourished over the last two months, and that is down to the care they have received from the wonderful staff at the nursery.

We had an amazing experience with Westwood nursery. We started sending our boy to this nursery when he was one year old. Now he loves going to the nursery and has made lots of friends there. They take very good care of him so we are rest assured while dropping him in the mornings. The staff, food, environment

My eldest daughter has just finished pre-school and my youngest has just started in Ladybirds. After such a positive and nurturing nursery experience for my eldest, we knew we had to also send our youngest to Westwood too. All staff, once again, have been so friendly, reassuring and encouraging in settling
my youngest. The settle sessions, key worker alignment and various methods used (family book, registration forms with her interests and abilities) have all allowed her to ease in and feel comfortable really quickly. The Ladybirds staff have taken time to get to know her and the feedback via the app and on collection is so insightful and appreciated. I am confident that she will enjoy and flourish at nursery just like her big sister. Thank you all for your continued efforts.

We've used Westwood Day Nursery for two of my children over the last four years or so. It's been a great environment for my children to grow and learn under the supervision of staff that really seem to care about my children's progression. The facilities, food and resources were great and the staff
were always really friendly, approachable and engaged really well with the children. Thank you to all the team! Would 100% recommend!

Lyndsey Matthews

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2005

Lyndsey is currently the Manager of Westwood Day Nursery in Coventry and has a wealth of experience, having worked with children for the past 20 years. Lyndsey has 18 years of experience in Early Years, all of which were with Childbase where she started as an Apprentice, progressing from a qualified practitioner to room leader, team leader and then Deputy. Lyndsey is NVQ Level 3 qualified in Children's Care, Learning and Development.


What is your favourite feature of your nursery?
The fact the rooms have their own gardens and can free flow throughout the day.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
The relationships we have with our parents, the staff know the families so well including myself which means we are able to support them in all areas of their lives. It also means they are so much more engaged when it comes to events at nursery.
