Westwood is a purpose-built 70 place day nursery of the highest quality.

Westwood provides a happy, sociable environment where every child is treated as an individual.

The nursery has 5 main playrooms, all with their own individual outdoor spaces. It also consists of sensory areas and designated sleeping areas.

Outside is a fully enclosed and well equipped garden with astro turf and patio areas as well as designated areas for creative play, role play and digging. The nursery also organises social events including fundraising, parents evenings and stay and play afternoons.

Westwood Day Nursery also offer the extracurricular activity of Drama Tots on Thursday afternoons, alternating to a different room each week.

Westwood gives children the opportunity to both work and play in cheerful and stimulating surroundings.

Westwood Day Nursery is a gem! From the fantastic staff, nurturing environment, learning through play, safe practices and communication, Westwood really has everything covered and more! It took time for my son to adjust to his new routine and surroundings. Staff acknowledged this showing empathy and
patience during this transition, trying different approaches, and now my son settles much better and really enjoys his time at Westwood. Whilst the children have key workers, all staff (including admin, management and even staff in other rooms!) take time to get to know each child, and make them welcome as soon as they arrive at the front door in a morning. Nothing ever seems too much trouble, you feel reassured knowing that your child is well looked after, getting regular updates via an app as well as honest feedback about their day on pick up. All the staff seem genuinely interested and passionate in what they do and it shows in their work and care. Could not recommend Westwood enough!

If you are looking for a nursery for your child(ren)... look no further!
Westwood Day Nursery, is exceptional!
A caring and nurturing environment with a strong emphasise on children adaptation.
In this environment, everybody is striving. Of course, children, but also the fantastic people who are
looking after the children. This means that everything is, sustainable.
As soon as you walk in there is an immediate sense of peace, serenity and most importantly... joy!
Some of the many things we love about the nursery: it is clean, staff rotation (they all know what's going on and always have a special word when the children come in or go out to make them feel seen); the seamless professionalism; children going out in the fresh air or going back in, in a blink of an eye; children being stretched and challenged in an appropriate way for them; cute, quick, efficient updates throughout the day; the safe entrance system; food plan and ideas.

Westwood Day Nursery has provided a safe and fun environment for my son to learn and develop over the last couple of years. The staff whether it be management or in the rooms are always friendly and have developed really positive relationships with my child. They always make great effort to ensure we
get feedback at the end of each day. Meal choices are nutritious and varied and represent good value for money. My son loves his time at Westwood and has visibly enhanced his self confidence, speech and numeral skills since he began.

We were recommended Westwood Day Nursery by our son's SEN teacher after struggling at other settings. We were apprehensive about the move as we felt our son had been let down previously. What can I say, we were absolutely blown away by Westwood and the staff. From the moment we went to visit we were
made to feel welcome, our son accepted and a very thorough settling-in plan was made to ensure our son would be well supported from the moment his settling sessions started. His 1:1 funding was applied for and granted right away meaning his needs have been catered to from the get-go. He is thriving and developing so rapidly now he has the right support and staff around him. Everyone at Westwood is so friendly and welcoming, they all have a smile on their face every time I see them and you can tell they love all the children. I am so impressed by Westwood and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone sending their child to nursery.

Westwood Day Nursery have made going back to work easier and have made a difficult transition, easy. The communication from the start has been excellent. All questions have been answered efficiently on walk-arounds, settling days and normal day-to-day nursery. The daily app updates are great and help
keep worry at bay, especially in the first few weeks - however updates have not stopped after the first month, every day I have something. All the members of staff know what is going on in the rooms and seem to know all the children. Every time I have asked questions about my son's day, attitude, eating, routine etc the staff have answered straight away and honestly, which has put me at ease. They have given me positive and negative feedback, which I have appreciated and builds my trust in the team. My son is always happy at drop off and pick up and smiles at all staff willingly. It has been a weight lifted off my shoulders choosing Westwood and would highly recommend the nursery.

My child has been attending this nursery for almost a year and has settled so well. All the staff are amazing and so caring towards the children. They aid in the children's development with activities both group and one-to-one, which correlate with seasons, special days or events. The communication
with this nursery is really good. I couldn't fault this nursery at all and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nursery place for their child.

My son struggled with separation from day one and the nursery staff went above and beyond to make his transition as smooth as possible for all of us, every morning for 3 years. He now says some of them are his best friends. You can truly leave your child at nursery knowing they will be well looked after,
learn new things every day and have a great time playing with their peers in a lovely environment.

A wonderful nursery to send your children to. Staff are warm, welcoming and caring and the level of care is outstanding. The activities and resources available to the children are wonderful and provide so many amazing learning opportunities and experiences. My daughter has just left now as she is going
to school but she has been there for nearly four years and she has had the best time! And my son is starting soon as nowhere else I would send him after my experience here with my daughter! I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a home away from home for their children and somewhere where they can thrive and grow and have the best start to their lives and learning. Our baby girl started nursery in May 2024, she really enjoys it.
All the staff have been extremely welcoming and have helped our baby settle in easily, into her new surroundings.
Our wee girl is enjoying all the activities including painting, music, playing outdoors and babbling her way through
the books.
The app and update conversations with the nursery staff at the end of the day are really informative, we are always made aware of her progress and developments.

Our son loves his time at Westwood Day Nursery and we certainly know he is in the best of hands. The staff are friendly, welcoming and encourage him to develop his skills through learning and play. The environment is clean, bright and full of exciting activities and topics that are regularly changed.
We receive regular pictures and updates via the app and lovely weekly newsletters. Everyone helped us with our son's transition to nursery providing him with the emotional support he needed to become comfortable with his new space and peers.

Amazing friendly staff who make both parents and children feel comfortable attending nursery. Kept updated throughout the day on how the children are doing and get sent regular photos of them doing activities and playing. We are very pleased with the nursery. Both of my sons have attended since they turned 1 and their development has been fantastic all thanks to the staff. I cannot speak highly enough of Westwood Day Nursery! My daughter has been there for the best part of 3 years and has learned and developed so much during this time. The staff show incredible care and attention to her development and also her wellbeing and they all built incredible relationships with
her in each room that she was in during her time here. Their communication is fantastic which has meant I've always had a brilliant relationship with the staff where I feel I can discuss anything necessary with them. We cannot wait for our son to start his journey here too. Safeguarding has always been their highest priority and I've always felt that my daughter was in safe hands here with the measures they take to ensure a safe environment and the facilities are great, especially the outdoor space which I know my daughter loves. They always go the extra mile, such as creating lovely gifts and cards for Mother's Day/Father's Day/holidays/birthdays etc.

Lyndsey

Lyndsey Matthews

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2005

Lyndsey is currently the Manager of Westwood Day Nursery in Coventry and has a wealth of experience, having worked with children for the past 20 years. Lyndsey has 18 years of experience in Early Years, all of which were with Childbase where she started as an Apprentice, progressing from a qualified practitioner to room leader, team leader and then Deputy. Lyndsey is NVQ Level 3 qualified in Children's Care, Learning and Development.


What is your favourite feature of your nursery?
The fact the rooms have their own gardens and can free flow throughout the day.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
The relationships we have with our parents, the staff know the families so well including myself which means we are able to support them in all areas of their lives. It also means they are so much more engaged when it comes to events at nursery.
