Bright Kids At Northfield in South Birmingham was established in 2004 when the two adjacent spacious semi-detached Victorian houses were fully renovated to provide ample space for children to learn and play in their small homely age group. The nursery is well-positioned close to local schools and amenities.

The nursery has an excellent outdoor play space with defined areas for climbing, growing, and creative play in addition to the traditional hard-play surfaces. This 'all-weather' outdoor area ensures access is possible all year round. With a mini-forest school planned for the future, this will become a 'natural haven' for the nursery children within the city.

With a philosophy of learning through play, children work and play together in small groups to develop skills and knowledge to become independent learners for life. Working with the new Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum under the guidance of their own fully qualified Early Years Professional.

Lovely friendly nursery, the staff are all amazing and my daughters have come on in leaps and bounds there. Always lots of different and fun activities for the children to take part in. Regularly kept up to date with an online diary with how my daughters are getting on and what they have been doing
at nursery each day, with lots of photos and videos.

Great Nursery, my daughter has been going for 6 months now and loves every session. She is happy and well looked after, you can't ask for much more than that... The staff and all, friendly and helpful too.

I'm so pleased that I chose Bright Kids Northfield as my boys' nursery. The staff really helped the boys to settle in quickly and have always been very kind and caring. I've had no safeguarding issues whatsoever and they seem to have very rigorous policies in place and enforced such as no mobile phone
use on site. Communication is very good with regular newsletters and they've also held parents' mornings which have been lovely and really enjoyable. The boys have really developed in their literacy and numeracy since being there and their confidence has also grown; it's clear that their key workers know them well. The online learning journal is great as you receive regular updates on their progress. Most importantly, the boys have really enjoyed their time there and will miss going once they start at school.

I am very happy to have picked this nursery for my daughter. The staff are friendly, professional and caring and they look after my daughter really well. She is always eager to go to nursery and she has learned so much the past few months, I am well impressed! Thank you!

From the moment I walked in I knew this was the right place for my daughter. Leaving my daughter for the first time was never going to be easy but the staff put me at ease.


The staff are incredible and my daughter loves her time at nursery. She is developing rapidly and I believe that's down to

the help of the staff and integrating with other children.


I would definitely recommend our nursery.

All staff are lovely and since my boy and started he has grown into the brightest little boy and will miss everyone from the nursery and I will also have my daughter start in January 2017. The outside is great for learning and the children to explore. I would recommend the nursery to anyone, I am pleased

I am very pleased with the service provided at Bright Kids Northfield, my son attended preschool for 2 years and I currently use the breakfast club and afterschool club services which is very helpful and convenient for me due to work. I would definitely recommend to other families. All the staff and

I found Bright Kids Northfield to be very welcoming, all of the staff are friendly and approachable. My daughter started in January 2015 as a shy quiet little girl, she has just graduated as a very confident little lady. I cannot thank the staff at Bright Kids enough for their support and teaching ability
to bring that confidence out in her. I am sad that my daughters journey here has come to an end, as she thoroughly enjoyed every moment she spent here.
We'll done Bright Kids. Thank you for making my daughters nursery journey a magical one.

The nursery staff are very friendly, welcoming, helpful. The nursery is very big, there are lots of activities to do, outside area is big and there are lots of things to play with. Snack and lunchtime is good and the choice of food is good. My son enjoys playtime and playing outside. Overall the staff
are great, they have helped my boy to settle in really well and quickly. He enjoys coming here and has made friends already.

Janette

Janette Moran

Job Title: Manager Joined: 2014

I began my career in 1992 when I became a parent volunteer in a nursery school. I’ve progressed to gaining my qualifications in childcare as well as education starting in 1996. In October 2013 I gained my BA Hons and in addition in February 2014 I qualified as an Early Years Teacher Status. I have collectively worked in both childcare and education for 26 years as well as raising my own four children. I’ve currently have thirteen grandchildren.


I immensely enjoy working with children and families and feel I have a lot of experience and knowledge to share. I’m really enjoying my time here at the Bright Kids Nursery Northfield where I can work alongside my team to ensure children in our care have the best possible childcare and education in a play based curriculum to support the children’s progression into school and build on their life skills.


The bright sunny rooms with stimulating activities encourage our children to be independent, critical thinkers, creative and challenge their skills and development. I am proud to be part of the Bright Kids Team.

Kerrie McCaffery

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2005

I started my career at Bright Kids Nursery Northfield as a student in June 2005. In 2006 when I qualified as Level 3 in childcare I was employed as club staff and Nursery Nurse. My career progressed to Room Leader and then to Senior Nursery Nurse.


Becoming Deputy Manager in 2014, I fully enjoy my role, and have achieved many childcare related qualifications.


I love being a mom to my two children and enjoy working with children and their families, supporting them and watching their children grow and develop.


As a long-standing member of the Bright Kids team I am very proud of what I and also what we have achieved here at Bright Kids Northfield.
