My son has been attending Busy Bees for over a year now and he absolutely loves it. They are so lovely, kind and caring towards both myself and my son.
The nursery are very informative about how my son is progressing with daily handovers. They do not hesitate to call if there is a problem or my son
is ill.
Leaving your child can be a huge worry, however, I have had no worry leaving my son here and would recommend Busy Bees to my friends and family.

This is an inviting nursery, they are very welcoming and always greet my child when she arrives. They provided healthy and nutritional food, snacks and drinks, and cater for all requirements. They give me updates on my child's development. The staff are professional and helpful and provide a stable
and inviting environment for my child to learn through play. The nursery has a family atmosphere about it, which enables me to leave my daughter there knowing that she will be safe and well looked after while I'm out working.

We are absolutely delighted with this nursery. The carers, the attention, the curriculum, the routine brought out the best in our child. The changes we've noticed in him since he started here are amazing. He absolutely loves his nursery and thoroughly enjoys being there. The way we have observed carers
handling all children is fabulous and all the kids seem so happy!
A big thank you to each staff member in the toddler room for their love, understanding and patience in dealing with our child. You all will be so sorely missed! Take care and all the very best.

My Granddaughter goes to nursery every day and she feels safe and well looked after. She enjoys the interaction with all staff members and is now making friends fast. She is well ahead of other children of her age due to the great commitment of all staff making play a game and great learning curve.
The food that is served is varied and it has encouraged her to eat a varied diet.
The children are encouraged to be independent and try different activities.

My son had never been away from me before he started nursery. I was really anxious. I chose Busy Bees for its proximity to town, and its Ofsted report. At the settling in sessions I was impressed by how smoothly the staff worked together, how professional they were. The children were so calm, just bumbling
around outside (it was a hot summer day, perfect for bumbling). There was no running, crying, shouting, hitting or fighting. My only worry was I thought the staff weren't very cuddly. A week later, however, I realised they were just taking their measure of him, and now he goes to them happily and I can see how they are quietly affectionate and reassuring.
My son didn't speak before nursery, within a month he started singing and saying his first words, naming body parts etc. His nappy area is always clean-smelling and he never has nappy rash. He walks into the room like he owns it and has no problems separating from me. The management are clear on their expectations and kind and polite.

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.614)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.614) out of 10 for Busy Bees Dartmouth Circus is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.979 for Busy Bees Dartmouth Circus is calculated as follows: ( (47 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.979
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.635 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Dartmouth Circus is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 77 number of registered child places is 15.4. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 15.4 = 0.26
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
