Kindred Winterbourne Earls Day Nursery and Pre-School was awarded 'Good' in its latest Ofsted inspection (May 2022).

The nursery and pre-school is a warm and welcoming environment where the staff are passionate about the mission to create inspiring worlds full of awe and wonder for little ones to grow and thrive in. By creating days filled with unique moments and opportunities, Kindred are able to truly enrich a child’s development during 0-5 years.

Not only that but Kindred also personally understands what it is to be a parent during this magical time and creates meaningful relationships with every parent. Parents will never miss an opportunity to share in the joy of every child’s developmental and learning moments.

The nursery is located in the heart of Winterbourne Earls village, next to the church. Staff offer exceptional childcare and early years education to children aged from 3 months up to 5 years. They are open from 7:45 am to 6:00 pm.

Staff are passionate about loose parts play and follow a Reggio-inspired approach to learning and development. They are also very proud of their exceptionally large outdoor space and forest garden.

The nursery has ample parking.

We are very happy with Kindred Nursery in Winterbourne Earls. Our daughter’s key worker is amazing with her caring, understanding and fun. We feel the staff share in our child’s achievements and successes and take as much joy in them as we do. Our daughter settled in so quickly and loves her days there.

Kindred Winterbourne Earls is a truly fantastic setting. My daughter absolutely loves coming here. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable, and they’ve made a huge effort to make her feel welcome. Every time I collect her I always receive very thorough feedback about her day, from what she’s eaten
to which activities she’s participated in. The office staff are also really efficient and are very quick to respond to emails, no matter how small the query. They have a huge variety of learning resources and the children spend a great deal of time outdoors. I genuinely believe my daughter couldn’t be happier at any other setting, and I highly recommend Winterbourne Earls - it’s brilliant!

Our child is very happy and settled in the pre-school room at Winterbourne Earls. Hello, my name is Laura Hopkins and I am the Manager at Kindred Winterbourne.


I started in this role in September 2024 after having progressed from being a deputy manager at one of our other Salisbury-based nurseries where I was in that role since 2018.


I began my career as a Private Nanny until I moved into nursery education. I hold a Diploma in Childcare and Education Level 3 and have experience in childcare since the early 2000s.

I have worked in childcare across a variety of ages from 3 months plus for nearly 13 years. I started my childcare career in 2010 at an outdoor nursery, where I completed my levels 2 and 3 in Early Years. This has given me some amazing experience and has helped me gain a wide range of knowledge which I have brought to Kindred.


I joined the Kindred family in 2018 as a room leader and have since worked my way up to Deputy Manager and nursery SENCO. My passion is respectful care, ensuring we follow a respectful and unhurried approach to the children's development and care, ensuring they are given the opportunities to flourish and develop into confident children ready for the next steps in their journey.
