Partou Hucclecote Day Nursery and Pre-School has a long-established reputation as the leading provider of childcare in Gloucester.

The nursery offers outstanding care to children aged 3 months to 5 years and is open from 8am to 6pm Monday - Friday, for 51 weeks of the year (closed during Christmas week).

Located on Hucclecote Road, a short distance from Gloucester Business Park, the nursery enjoys the benefit of a large character property with high ceilings, large airy rooms, and a huge outdoor garden and play space, which the children love and thrive in.

The best nursery I could have ever picked for my children to attend! The staff are caring and kind towards my 2 children. They provide my daughter with allergy-free, nutritious meals. Every time I collect my children they come out with huge smiles after having a brilliant day of learning with their
friends. They provide a huge range of activities and indoor and outdoor play so whatever your child is interested in they will have! My younger daughter can also nap in the day time. The nursery has excellent communication skills which ensure my children are provided for by myself and the nursery in the very best possible way. My daughter's speech has already come along so far from when she started! She now uses the potty and lets the staff know her preferences. Overall just a fantastic place which my entire family adore! Thank-you, Little People day nursery!

My son has special needs and started at Little People Day Nursery after leaving another setting that could not work with his needs. The Little People Day Nursery and the staff in the preschool room went over and above to support my son and make his experience at nursery a good one. They are a very special
team of people and we can't thank them enough for their help and support. My son formed relationships with some staff that changed his approach to nursery. He was accepted and included for who he is and that means the world to us. Thank you again to The Little People Day Nursery.

My child has loved his time at Little People!! He has made some super friends and made great bonds with staff too!! He talks vividly about his experiences when he goes!
The managers and the team are so approachable and have worked tirelessly to make sure the nursery setting is safe for the children
during these uncertain times!
My child loved returning after lockdown and this provided him with a much-needed routine and engagement in purposeful activities!!
We are sad that our son will no longer be attending Little People as he moves on to school! It’s a great nursery and I highly recommend it to all family and friends!!

Our little boy started nursery 4 weeks ago, just after lockdown. I was nervous about him starting at such a strange time and was worried about not being able to go into the nursery with him but the team at Little People have been great. They are all really friendly and have allowed us lots of settling
in sessions helping our son to adapt to his new surroundings.
He always comes home happy and smiling (even if he goes in crying) and we feel happy to leave him with such a kind but very professional team.

We moved our children to The Little People when their then-current nursery couldn't accommodate my change of work hours. After visiting, I immediately felt relaxed about arranging for my children to go there. There is lots of space, friendly staff, spacious, bright rooms and a very homely feel. My eldest
is preschool and my youngest is months old. They each enjoy their time there and go into the setting with smiles on their faces. They settled in just before the pandemic lockdown and nursery kept us informed about their reopening plans and how they were making the setting Covid-19 safe. We didn't have to pay retainer fees for the coming months and our children were happily welcomed back. Their learning portal is updated regularly, someone will always pick up the phone and staff are prompt to answer my emails. I couldn't really ask for more from a nursery.

My son has been at The Little People since 2018 and he's heading off to school soon. He absolutely loves going here and we've been very happy with them too. The staff are very attentive and nurturing.
We've been particularly happy since the preschool was split into two groups as the children became
more focused as it was more peaceful.
The staff have dealt with Covid-19 very well and I have felt that it was a safe environment.

We have had children in this nursery since 2014 and I must admit, we weren't overly happy when my eldest attended but then management changed shortly before he left for school and before my youngest attended. It has improved a lot since then and we are finding there are not a lot of staff changes now
and we are being kept informed of any general changes. It has been a challenging time recently and the nursery has handled the whole situation so well. We felt it was a very safe setting for our child to return to and he has been very happy there. He will be moving up to preschool soon and I am looking forward for my son to spend his preschool year at The Little People. I can't recommend it enough. All the girls are lovely and they really do care.

The Little People Day Nursery has done everything it possibly could to welcome children back following the global pandemic this summer. From managing the personal belongings system, to entrances and exits, from safe activities they set up to the care and affection they give my son, they have been immense.
At no point did our son feel nervous about going in, and he has loved seeing his friends too. Thank you to all the staff who are wonderful, two in-particular who have been the main staff in our son’s bubble. We are so grateful for all you do for him.

Our son has enjoyed his time at Little People. He has formed firm friendships and received excellent care over the 4+ years he has attended. The staff are excellent at picking up on the children’s interests and using them to extend and develop the children’s knowledge and understanding of the world.
Measures put in place for reopening after lockdown meant we felt confident in our children’s safety when returning to nursery. The staff have been outstanding in communicating with us as the children have resettled including updating us during the day by phone or email as well as at handover times. The actions of the staff show a clear interest in and a genuine affection for the children meaning we feel they are really valued and well cared for when we can’t be with them.

My little one is in bubble 2, or the toddler room, obviously due to the virus and keeping everyone safe I haven't been inside, however, I was worried about dropping him off as he can be very shy, however he loves ringing the bell on the gate and he runs in excited every time I drop him off, he is always
happy and smiley and this shows how much he loves being at nursery and the feedback I get when I collect him shows how much fun he had had, what I love the most is they find something your child is interested in and then expand it, he loves dinosaurs so they make his play and learning based around his interests.

Both of our sons attend the Little People Nursery and have very much missed attending during lockdown. Our eldest (two) returned yesterday and the joy he displayed at being back speaks volumes. During what has been a difficult time for all, we have been kept up to date with the changes that are happening
at nursery, all in a very positive way and we've felt fully supported. The team are amazing and we can't wait for our youngest (who we have been shielding) to return.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Little People. Every staff member we've encountered has been friendly, welcoming and full of smiles. Our little girl has been here since last September and has just thrived. It's wonderful seeing how excited she is to go in the morning and hear how much fun
she's had in the afternoon. Little People have a holistic and child-led approach to learning and really get to know and understand children as individuals - the staff really are just as invested in your child as you are. Our little girl has recently moved into the rising three's and is just besotted with her new keyworkers, and asks to show them pictures on days she's home (this is where tapestry comes in handy as it's so easy to upload a picture or notes on what you have been up to and to see what happens at nursery). They've been so supportive during lockdown, and communicated and adapted superbly, which speaks volumes to both the caring nature and proficiency of the team.

My daughter absolutely loves going to nursery here; she happily waves goodbye and always has a great day. The staff are lovely and returning back after lockdown, has been really well managed. Her two keyworkers are really genuine and care. Recommend to anyone looking for a nursery place, she has been
there for just over 2-years since she was a baby and I’m glad we chose this place!

My little one has been attending for over a month now, and absolutely loves it. I like that they try and do different activities with them every day, and are helping him with his development (trying to walk). The app gets updated every day, so I feel like I'm not missing out on anything and I can see
how he's developing. Our keyworker has been fantastic and have no worries about leaving him there.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2021

I have over 24 years experience working with young children. I trained as an apprentice in my early days and have worked in mainstream, SEN and diverse early years settings.


I have a business management and leadership qualification alongside my Early Years skills. I have been a Deputy Manager for over 10 years, but over the last few years I have worked at our sister nursery in Cheltenham, sharing the management role and really enjoyed this side of the job.


I’m a busy, working mum to two beautiful children, a teenager and a baby, so I can empathise with parents during their children’s journeys through the early years experience and beyond.
