Partou Hucclecote Day Nursery and Pre-School has a long-established reputation as the leading provider of childcare in Gloucester.

The nursery offers outstanding care to children aged 3 months to 5 years and is open from 8am to 6pm Monday - Friday, for 51 weeks of the year (closed during Christmas week).

Located on Hucclecote Road, a short distance from Gloucester Business Park, the nursery enjoys the benefit of a large character property with high ceilings, large airy rooms, and a huge outdoor garden and play space, which the children love and thrive in.

My daughter's nursery got closed with only 48 hours' notice. Little People Day nursery had a place for my son to start in September and they were my first phone call. The manager went above and beyond to help get my daughter a place and to start as soon as possible, for which I will be forever grateful!
My daughter settled in so quickly and the staff are so caring. Since being at Little People, my daughter has come on leaps and bounds with her letters/sounds. She is now very prepared to start school in September! Thank you to all the staff involved in my daughter's care!

Since my grandson started nursery, he has enjoyed his time there and learning new things. We hope that he will start to talk more and come out of himself a little more before starting school. All three of my children have attended here and they have all loved their time and the staff that have looked after them. The staff are really helpful and friendly and we are always kept in the communication loop via emails. The nursery itself is lovely and they have so many options for indoor and outdoor
play. We have never had a bad experience in the 4 years our children have attended.

I have had 2 of my children here over the last 5 years and I cannot rate them highly enough! Even in the toughest of times in the pandemic they did their best to welcome us all back and managed to maintain an extremely high hygiene standard. My 2nd child is flourishing despite her early months spent
in lockdown, she is so happy to go to nursery and I fully credit the staff and facilities. And let’s not forget the chef! My daughter can be picky but her menu is wonderful, varied and healthy and it seems to have turned her tastes around. Fully recommended.

My daughter started at The Little People Day Nursery at the height of the pandemic and handing her to a stranger was terrifying but I need not have worried. The staff are all so friendly and, importantly, communicate well. I have been really happy with my daughter's key workers and my daughter is so

Really lovely nursery - feels very homely. All the staff are so good with the children. They get to know all the children, not just the ones in their rooms. Have been very accommodating and supportive of my little boy's allergy. Also, very supportive and encouraging in helping my little boy to settle.
Food always smells amazing, and my son eats much better at nursery than at home.

Amazing place for our daughter to grow, learn and play. She started nursery with absolutely no knowledge of English and became a real ''chatterbox'' thanks to all her amazing teachers.
Friendly staff, nice tasty food (I'm surprised, but she eats there every day and I'm so happy because she has been
so difficult with feeding since a baby) perfect service and a fabulous setting. I can’t thank you enough for all your efforts. Really happy that we’ve found the "Little People Day Nursery" and we'll miss you a lot in September.

I have been really satisfied with the experience we’ve had with The Little People Day Nursery. When they started in the baby room the staff helped them settle so quickly and gave them the support and care when it was needed. They now absolutely love going to the nursery every day and have created great
bonds. My toddler has an allergy which is managed so well thanks to the staff and the chef. The range of food given is incredible and I’m comfortable knowing they’ll keep my toddler safe. The communication from the nursery is second to none which means I can feel confident in them.

I found the thought of looking around other nursery settings really overwhelming for my son due to working at one setting for so long and not having any other experiences. I found The Little People Day nursery were extremely inviting and made me feel very comfortable. They took the time to show me every
department and introduced me to every room with lots of information. I left my viewing feeling confident that I had found the perfect place for my son and I couldn’t wait for him to start. At the settle sessions, we were offered even more information and went through routines. The cook even came up to talk about what foods our son had tried and went through meal info. Since starting, my son has settled extremely well, the staff in the baby room have taken the time to get to know him and he’s adapted to nursery life successfully. I’d like to thank all of the staff for making the transition for me going to work a lot easier and for providing amazing care for my son.

Where do I start? Our little boy has been at the nursery for the last 9 months which is pretty much half of his life. I remember sitting in the car park crying and worrying how he will deal without me and feeling like the worst mum ever. Even though he was mega curious and happy to go in and after 2
hours, he was equally happy to be picked up. Fast forwards to now. He absolutely loves going to the nursery and in the morning he brings my shoes and the nursery bag and points at the door. He loves the epic food and eats it all (as nappy at home proves) and we love the fact that the food is so nutritious and varied. The nursery is clearly choosing the most wonderful people to work there. Kind, gentle but firmly helping the children master the 'kind hands'. There's been quite a lot of staff changes recently, yet now everything is absolutely excellent and the new staff have settled in well.

My child has been attending this nursery for the last 18 months and it started with a very good experience and ended in removing her from the nursery as we felt it wasn’t safe and the staff did not put well-being first. There is so much of a staff turnaround that it is inconsistent and not good for
our child to always be with someone different. She would come home with stained clothes, handovers were appalling you would be lucky to get two words out of the staff when explaining what our child did in that session. She came home with cuts on her face and we were not informed about it. I would not recommend this nursery.

My nearly three-year-old and four-year-old girls attend only once a week. They appear to enjoy it, have made friends, and seem happy when they're picked up. Have attended since babies pretty much. They tell me what they’ve done; they like the staff. We haven’t had any issues or concerns. Regarding Covid
situation, they have handled it very well and have been understanding with individual situations. Communication is always excellent. I have no complaints! Maybe one of the more expensive nurseries, but we like The Little People.

We have had both our children at The Little People throughout their early years, and both have consistently loved their experiences there.
They make great use of outdoor space and are happy to use it safely and exploratively.
They encourage creative active learning without forcing it on children.
They
have a great range of toys and equipment, which encourages imaginative play.
The staff are lovely and have time for everyone, and I’ve never had a bad experience in any interaction.
There is a good range of healthy food, and they always eat well there.

My son thoroughly enjoys his time here. He originally started before the pandemic and then had a large gap spanning the first couple of lockdowns where he didn’t attend. Obviously I was concerned about his return as he was going in a different room, with different members of staff as well. I needn’t

Nothing is ever too much, they always make it personal to your child.

The quality of care my daughter has received has been fantastic. They have maintained a sense of normal for my daughter in a very unsettling time. And I have every confidence in them looking after here during this pandemic. They have been invaluable allowing me and my partner to continue to work and

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at Little People they really are exceptional, they’ve dealt with the third lockdown and all the other Covid restrictions extremely well and we, as parents, feel safe as do our children. They still offer the same love and care for our son that we’ve come to expect
from them even through these challenging times. It’s my sons last year there as he’s off to school in September so I’ll be sad when he leaves, they really are fantastic!

I have over 24 years experience working with young children. I trained as an apprentice in my early days and have worked in mainstream, SEN and diverse early years settings.


I have a business management and leadership qualification alongside my Early Years skills. I have been a Deputy Manager for over 10 years, but over the last few years I have worked at our sister nursery in Cheltenham, sharing the management role and really enjoyed this side of the job.


I’m a busy, working mum to two beautiful children, a teenager and a baby, so I can empathise with parents during their children’s journeys through the early years experience and beyond.
