Mama Bear's Day Nursery (Paignton - Long Road)

Mama Bear's has given myself and my son an outstanding experience. They have brought my son along with speech and social skills. Overall, a great team.

Such a lovely nursery, my daughter loves it. The staff are amazing, very friendly and helpful. My daughter has learnt so much in the short time she's been attending. She's gone from a quiet and clingy girl to very independent. The staff have helped with improving speech amongst a lot of other things. I can't thank them enough. My daughter has come a long way since starting. I would definitely highly recommend the nursery to friends, family or anyone looking for a safe and fun nursery environment. Thank you to all staff.

The best decision we have ever made for our son! The development we have seen is incredible, our 1-year-old boy continuously comes home with new and developed skills. Staff keep us extremely well-informed through the app and seeing his photos and daily updates reassures us that he’s very happy and settled there. He gets to do activities he wouldn’t have the opportunity to do at home with us and the foods he gets to eat are beyond impressive!

The nursery is run incredibly well. Our son has been thriving and loves going so much. The staff are all very friendly, welcoming and professional. From our experience, they will go above and beyond for children to have the best environment possible even during trying times. I'd like to give a special mention to the care given to additional needs children and the outstanding support we have encountered, especially since under new management. We also love the use of the App to keep up to date on a daily basis and getting observations and assessments sent straight through there. It is wonderful to find a nursery taking such great care of our son.

A lovely nursery with caring staff. Some outdoor space which is carefully thought out with protective rubber flooring. The addition of a grassed area for the children to utilise more would be a bonus. However, the children always come out beaming and are keen to be dropped off in the mornings. Our daughter has been through each room at the nursery. We wouldn’t hesitate recommending the nursery.

We came to Mama Bear's after our previous nursery closed due to COVID-19. As keyworkers, my husband and I needed a replacement. Considering the short notice, Mama Bear's has bee very accommodating with welcoming us to the nursery. I cannot fault all their hard work in joining my daughter to Mama Bear's. My daughter loves it here, so much that she is not returning to her previous nursery. She has settled in incredibly well, all thanks to the staff here. Thank you from a very happy Mum!

The food is great, so friendly and at ease when talking with them about home problems.

My little girl started in pre-school just before she turned 3 and I wish I had started her earlier because she absolutely loves it! All of the ladies in pre-school are just amazing, so friendly, warm and chatty. I was so happy with how my little one settled in that I put her little sister in just before she turned 1 and she loves it just as much. The ladies in baby room are equally as amazing, and both of my girls leave with smiles on their faces when I pick them up. My eldest starts school in September and she won't be the only one who's sad to leave Mama Bears, it's been a great experience for our whole family. I'm just happy that my youngest has another 2 years there! Thank you ladies x

I don't think there is enough contact with management, but the ladies in the room are mostly friendly, happy and attentive.

Everyday he leaves with a sheet of paper which states what and that he's eaten everything X2 most of the time.

My daughter loves nursery, we have built a great relationship with the staff who all know us both well now. As parents, we are kept up to date and engaged with her activities and progress in Nursery. We have the opportunity to provide photos and videos of her achievements at home too. The nursery is well equipped and staffed with well trained friendly professionals.

Both of my children have been to Mama Bears and I cannot fault them. My eldest loved all of the carers as does my youngest. The staff are fun, friendly and very helpful.

Best nursery/preschool in Torbay. My son has certainly had the best start here. Highly recommend to anyone.

This is by far the best nursery and pre-school I have been involved with. They are truly stars with the children and have always been extremely accommodating of my son's severe egg allergy, which we were told could not be managed by one nursery we looked at. They are amazing at keeping in touch and keeping parents up to date through the app they use and emails, these updates always made me smile. My son never wanted to leave at pick up time and since finishing for the last time at the pre-school, ready to start primary in September, he has been asking to go back to Mama Bear's and wants his key worker to come to school with him. I would wholeheartedly recommend Mama Bear's and can't thank you enough for being there to support my son and even me on my bad days, you are a credit to childcare.

Both of my children have gone through this nursery and it's 100% the best in Torbay. I learnt to drive so they could attend as Mama Bears certainly gives children the best start in life. All of the staff are incredible, have lots of patience and are so kind.

Our 1-year-old is only there 2 days a week and loves it. The staff have been fantastic and always ensure that she is happy and well looked after, particularly if we're having a very clingy morning. The range of activities that are on offer, even at this age, has been amazing and given us plenty of ideas to try at home and really helped develop her creative side and confidence in dealing with other children and the staff. The nursery is well equipped and communication between the staff and parents is brilliant with both end of day feedback and notes and photos through their online system. We genuinely wouldn't hesitate to recommend this site to others.

This nursery is amazing. My son has been attending since he was six months old and is now in his last year in preschool before starting school in September 2018. He has developed so much and loves every day. The staff are fantastic and so good with the children. They treat every child as an individual and really care about their personal development and levels of progress. They always have time to talk to us as parents and always happy to discuss how my son has got on during the day, as well as informing us of how well he is progressing. They are also very supportive in offering helpful tips if needed. The activities that my son completes daily are brilliant and extremely engaging, he cannot wait to show me what he has done or tell me about his day. I cannot praise this nursery enough for their hard work, the amazing support they offer both children and parents, and most of all the welcome they give each day we arrive and at the end of every day.

My son attends Mama Bear's and he loves his time spent at the setting. He has progressed in all areas of his development and has lots of fun whilst doing so. I feel myself and my son have such a great relationship with all the staff and feel I am able to approach all staff. I am so relieved that I have found a safe setting for my son to attend and I know all his needs are being met when I am unable to.
