Mama Bear's Day Nursery (Paignton - Long Road)

My daughter has been attending since April 2025 at 10 months old. The nursery has been incredible for her. The staff are amazing. As a first time mum leaving my daughter for the first time they were so understanding and warm. They made this transition for us so easy! I love getting all the updates and getting sent photos of her being happy and learning. Specially when we have had a bad drop off and we get a notification a little while later that she's settled. They have been so helpful and understanding when it comes to her allergies or medication needs. I honestly have no worries at all leaving her in their care. I don't think she would be the out going confident girl she is with out them. It makes me happy when we see her so excited to see the nursery workers and her friends. Mama bears was definitely the right choice for her and our family.

Staff & management are very friendly, welcoming and approachable. Always come in to an lovely clean space with lots of toys and activities available. Food always smells great whilst cooking away when dropping off and they have a good variety of meals/snacks throughout the day. The only negative I can voice is that sometimes the app is not updated until the very end of the day once collected. However I know my child is safe and well looked after in there care and this just means that the staff are not constantly on a ipad etc logging events which is a positive. The most important thing is that my child is well cared for throughout his time spent there. The staff genuinely care about you and your child and have a great relationship with the regular staff I see. I would recommend mama bears, long road to anyone asking.

My little boy has been going to Mama Bear's Day Nursery for 2 years, since he was 18 months old. His little brother, aged almost 2, has been going since 11 months old. They both have very good attachments to their key workers and the other staff. I experience both kinds of drop offs on a daily basis - one child with separation anxiety who often cries at drop off, and the other who happily goes off without looking back - and they are both welcomed with warm hugs, and 5 minutes later they are both always laughing and smiling when I look through the window. The manager, is absolutely brilliant and has helped us out no end with all sorts of work related childcare problems we have, and always goes the extra mile - even replying to emails at 10pm about arranging extra sessions etc! I wholeheartedly recommend Mama Bears.

Our daughter recently started at this nursery and every team member has been so welcoming. They've spent time getting to know us as parents and our daughter too. We feel really confident that she's being well looked after and love all the new foods she's been trying and toys too. We love the daily updates which include meals, bottles, nappies and pictures. Mama Bears is an amazing nursery, not only for its superior care for children and its brilliant available facilities but for its compassionate caring staff and overall wonderful atmosphere. My child's confidence from attending Mama Bears is something I am very proud of, along with her development of skills, who she is as a child, and her ability to engage, all of which I don't think as a parent I could do alone to this level, but with their support, it's been more than achievable. My child is always happy and getting the best of every day at nursery here and I am extremely delighted it is here she goes to nursery. The team of staff at Mama Bears are truly wonderful and this shows by how your children are around them it's clear they feel safe and nurtured. The manager is someone you can have the greatest trust in, she is someone who will go above and beyond for you and is always there to help and I feel lucky to have support from someone like her, so thank you.

My daughter has attended Mama Bear Long Road Paignton for the last year and a half. She loves attending and runs in every day to meet the team and her little friends, she's grown in confidence every day and looks forward to telling me about her day. All the team are very approachable and report any concerns when appropriate with the aim of keeping all children happy and safe at all times. They work with parents to support them with their children's development and with young children they try to replicate their routine at home when possible to reduce any anxiety/upset and make them feel at home.

The manager is amazing and so supportive of everything we have gone through since starting. Nothing is too much trouble.

The staff at Mama Bears have always been very welcoming, supportive, and great with communication. My partner and I feel very happy and assured with Mama Bears Nursery (Long Road). We get regular feedback, and updates on the app, and the staff are always happy to answer any queries we have. Our son has been thriving at this nursery and is fond of the staff and the friends he has made.

Mama Bears has always been so supportive towards our family and especially my daughter’s developmental needs. She has been there for nearly 2 years now and enjoys their activities so much she doesn’t even say bye anymore! My daughter has a great relationship with the staff in all of the rooms within the setting and feels very comfortable with them, the manager at the nursery is very informative and understanding. We will be continuing to use the setting until she is school-age and would recommend it to others. The bonus is it’s on-site to my workplace!

Amazing staff. Can't thank them enough for the care they provide for my son. He has come on leaps and bounds since he started. He now runs into nursery and is always greeted in the best possible way.

I use Mama Bear's for my little girl they were amazing when she first started by making sure she was calm when she didn't want to leave me. All the staff always have lovely attitudes and can't wait to tell me all about her day when I pick her up. Her key worker is amazing, when I pick her up she always has a smile on her face, she is clean and well cared for. I will continue to use Mama Bear's through my college journey.

Local management is also visible and supportive and has been flexible when we have needed extra days.

They definitely deserve praise and where possible additional staff to help when times are busy.

My twelve-month-old son has attended Mama Bears Nursery for one month. I have been thoroughly impressed with the experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff who seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me and my child. The facilities were bright and colourful and all of the equipment is well-maintained and up-to-date. What really stands out to me is the level of care that every child receives. The nursery has a real sense of community, where each child's individual needs were catered for, with plenty of opportunities for socialisation, learning and play. It's reassuring to see such enthusiasm from both the staff and children alike. Overall, I would highly recommend Mama Bears Nursery as an excellent choice for anyone looking for quality childcare in a warm, nurturing environment.

Both of my children are in great hands with the staff at Mama Bear's. My eldest is always excited to spend a day at nursery full of games, songs and many different activities. He loves spending time out in the garden. While my youngest has a lot of 1 to 1 care with his key worker and enriched sensory play. Throughout the day I get constant updates on the app which gives me great piece of mind.
