King's Nursery latest inspection was found to be 'outstanding' in all areas March 2024.

The curriculum is ambitious and designed to give children, particularly the vulnerable, the knowledge and cultural capital they need to succeed in life. Leaders regularly monitor and evaluate the curriculum to ensure that children’s experiences over time consistently build on their experiences at home and nursery. For example, staff now enhance visits to the library and offer families story sacks to take home. This extends opportunities for children to explore their favourite books and retell stories with props and puppets. This is helping to promote an early enjoyment of reading for children and their families.

Leaders aim for children to develop secure communication and language skills and staff create a language-rich environment. For example, they ensure that children can choose freely from a wide range of books and young children become fascinated as staff read enthusiastically to them. Staff engage children in high-quality conversation and provide opportunities for them to share their thoughts and ideas. Children go on to demonstrate their love of books as they select their own book and replicate the story telling situation with their friends. They recall the plot and practise using new language and vocabulary that they have learned.

We have had an exceptional experience with Kings nursery and emerald room team. Laura has been beyond helpful when prepping for nursery. The whole reception team wonderful on the nerve wracking settling sessions. Finally the Emerald room team including Amelia and Katie have helped settle Elliot so well,
he loves nursery thanks to them all. He loves the team, toys and we really appreciate the updates and feel like they really know him, despite how busy they must be we are so grateful to be at Kings.

We love King's Nursery! Our daughter has attended since she was 12 months old and has received such good care and attention in all rooms she has been in and has absolutely grown in confidence. We are excited for her next chapter in Foundation as we feel this will be a fantastic next step for her and
are confident that the support and teaching will be as good as it has been so far.
The staff know our daughter well and we are touched when staff from other rooms greet her by name and show genuine enthusiasm to see her each day. The communication from nursery leadership is fantastic and very timely, with no question or query too much trouble.
There is no question as to where we will be sending our second child when they are old enough, it had to be King's Nursery!

I couldn't have expected more than what they offer. We visited over five nurseries in Plymouth, and King's was our top choice due to its location, system, facilities, and food management-important to us! We also heard great things through word of mouth. Our experience: we struggled with applying for
government funding, but they patiently helped us. Our daughter received excellent care. The staff are lovely, kind, and warm-hearted. As a first-time mother not from the UK, I didn't always understand nursery procedures. Sometimes I wondered why they explained things so thoroughly, but it was truly needed! The best part? They do this with genuine warmth. It touched us when a staff member (thank you!) asked if we were getting sleep when our daughter was unwell. I can't praise them enough, and we won't change nurseries until she starts school. Through this review, we want to thank the amazing Emerald Room team. Best, a grateful mother!

My daughter has attended Kings Nursery since she was eight months old. I have been so pleased with this placement from the beginning. My daughter is just about to turn three.
The staff have always been so friendly and helpful. We are always greeted with a smile. We have regular communications via the
daily diary and this is a great way to leave little messages in a busy world.
Staff are very knowledgeable and the activities that are created and carried out in a daily basis deserve lots of praise! My daughter loves coming to nursery and knows all staff by name.
She adores Forest School and this provides an amazing space for outdoor learning.
The manager always responds to questions in a timely way and is excellent at overseeing the team.
I couldn't think of a better place to send my daughter in such crucial years for development of knowledge and understanding! Thank you!
Can I also thank the catering staff. The food is prepared and cooked on site and is healthy!

There are no words to describe how amazing you all are. As our children run up the path each morning and we see the beaming smiles on their faces, that gives us the confirmation as to how much we know they love being in your compassionate support.

The King's School Nursery staff are always very polite and cheerful every morning. They keep a really useful dairy of all the activities, food and sleep my daughter has done that day. It's great to see the range of activities she gets upto like painting and sandpits. On quite days they even go to the
local play park. I would happily recommend King's School Nursery to anyone.

A superb nursery, the only one I would go to. The staff are well trained and very friendly. My daughter loves attending and has learnt so much whilst there. It's appreciated that you receive updates about their day with photos - the small on her face from the photos says it all! Clean environment
and lovely outdoor setting, which seems very safe for crawlers and toddlers.

The Nursery has amazing facilities each session is thoughtfully designed with fun and learning in mind, our child obviously loves going there and as a result his progression has been amazing.

Kings School is an exceptional school. My family feels like part of an extended family at King's. The staff are amazing, professional, helpful, friendly, passionate, dedicated, and kind.
They recognise the importance of nurturing our children and ensuring they meet their fullest potential.
My daughters
are very happy here and feel loved and cared for.
It's peace of mind for us as parents when we drop off our children to know we are leaving them in very capable hands.

Our daughter started in the foundation room Sept 2024. We were anxious about how she would settle and deal with wearing a uniform for the first time.
She has settled well and loves the uniform. She really enjoys knowing the structure of the day in advance. (Tuesdays Forest school, Thursdays Music,
and Fridays IT).
The team are very professional and from talking with them at the door and in the meetings with the teachers they have really understood and gotten to know our daughter as an individual.
We are now aiming for her to continue into reception and onward.

My child has been transformed in terms of confidence and overall well-being since attending this nursery. They originally attended for 3 days out of 5 and asked to attend more often. They then asked to stay for longer hours too! This was a child who really struggled with settling at their first other
nursery and didn't want to go to nursery at all and now after attending Kings they love nursery and I can relax knowing they are well cared for and happy. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Amazing nursery and staff.

My son has been going to the nursery for the last 18 months and is thriving there. The staff are exceptional and take a real interest in him. It's lovely to see the bonds he has with those in his room and the effort the team put into making each day interesting and fun for him. He also has two allergies
that have always been catered for and he never misses out on activities due to them. My husband and I are so pleased we chose Kings and would highly recommend it.

My little boy started at King's in September and is really enjoying his time at the Nursery. The staff are friendly and really take time to get to know the children and parents. He is really thriving at nursery and we have seen such a difference in his overall development and confidence since he started.
The facilities are excellent and he is encouraged to do a range of interesting and exciting activities every day.
