Ambourne House Day Nursery

The only thing that lets this place down is it does not have a separate sleeping space, half of the baby room is closed off with a room divider. It would be better for all the children if there were a separate sleeping areas with cots etc as my little one is currently sleeping in a travel cot and her naps are rubbish in nursery due to the disturbance coming from other side of the room divider. I viewed 10 different nurseries and this one was far better than the rest in terms of what they offer.

My child attended Ambourne House for a year now and I cannot speak more highly of this nursery. The staff are caring and friendly and professional and make the effort to create a nurturing environment. They offer a range of activities to help with learning and creativity. Communication is excellent between them and myself with regular updates on how my child is getting on within nursery and developing. I love that they have special days dedicated for you to come in and do activities with your child which makes it extra special to be welcomed in. I would highly recommend ambourne house to any other parent looking for a supportive, nurturing and caring nursery for there child

My child has been attending Ambourne House Nursery since May 2024. I would highly recommend this nursery to any parents looking for an inclusive, safe nursery with a real sense of community. My child has grown in confidence and knowledge and going to nursery has done wonders for her social development. The team know our family so well and support our child in line with our core values. The opportunities provided through trips and activities with external providers, including weekly forest school are outstanding. What I love most about this nursery is their outside space and the fact that they are not weather adverse so the children play outside all year round.

I have had a really good experience with Ambourne House. He absolutely loves it, along with the people who work there - who show great love and care in watching him grow and building great relationships! He has so much fun there, where I can see through updates shown on the app - which is great. He speaks about his friends, what he's done and the workers with great attitude. I can really see what my son is being taught and shown as he will do new things at home and his communication/speech is widening! I will always recommend Ambourne to friends and family!

Both our children love Ambourne House. The staff encourage the kids to be independent and confident and teach them useful skills. The gardens are a real highlight, they both love playing with all the toys out there. They offer term time only places which is a real bonus for us and will sometimes take the kids on trips! They aren't a chain which means the staff have a real family feel where they all work together to offer a fun and friendly experience.

My children will be very sad when they have to go to school and leave Ambourne House.

My daughter has been attending Ambourne House Day Nursery since she was around 10 months old, and is now nearly 4 years. My daughter loves coming to Ambourne and has built up strong bonds with staff and her peers. The staff are always offering a range of activities and I have seen my daughter learn and develop so much from this. Ambourne has a lovely outside area which some other nurseries don't have. The staff at Ambourne are so caring and understanding, I always have full confidence that my daughter is being well looked after. My daughter will miss Ambourne house when she starts school this September!

Lovely nursery, my son has settled in quickly even though he only goes one day a week. Great garden which the children spend lots of time in and very caring staff. Also have events for all the family like a summer bbq which creates a nice community feel.

My little girl has been going to Ambourne House for 4 months. I love that it's a beautiful family setting which helps the children to their own needs. A big thank you to several members of staff in particular for making her feel warm, welcome, and safe. We couldn't have picked a better nursery.

My little girl has been attending since 10 months old and is now 3. She has loved every minute at Ambourne which has made my working life so much easier! Everyone is super nice and so lovely to my little one, she has had lovely relationships with a member of staff in Toddlers, 2 members of staff in Kindergarten and now starting to develop new relationships with 2 other staff members, all of who she talks about when she comes home! She loves the chef's cooking and eats better at nursery than we do! Always learning and playing with the educational toys! I would recommend this setting to anyone contemplating going back to work as a fellow working mummy!

I couldn’t ask for more. The nursery is amazing and the staff members are incredible. The team does an amazing job with my son. He has lots of fun there. They go on daily trips with the nursery’s school bus, where they explore nature. They have an amazing time and lovely venues.

The communication from staff is brilliant; they give useful information on what my son has done each day (verbal handover and via Tapestry) as well as regular ‘parents evenings’.

What more could you want? I’m certainly glad I trusted my gut!

Very human-face-like and friendly nursery with very original education and activities for children. My daughter has been going there for a year since she was 1 1/2 and is always very passionate to go. Unlike some nurseries I have seen around the area, the staff seem to genuinely enjoy the work which I think is a big reason why the children do so. The children are often led to learn about real life, for example, to plant vegetables, cook, draw, wash hands, behave themselves in a group etc. They play in a garden with real lawn, trees and many toys and attractions are wooden, not plastic. In nurseries I have seen around, they wash children hands with wipes, have a green carpet instead lawn and they tend to have the same things as in an ordinary playground in the yard, so this is not the case in Ambourne House. I appreciate that the keeper of my daughter often spends 1-to-1 time with her and puts an effort to teach her something new which she always seems to surprise me with later.

We have seen such a huge effort put in by all the team. Well done to you all for creating such a lovely nursery for the children and families.

Had a horrible experience with this nursery, they refused to give snacks to my daughter when all other kids were having snacks in the nursery, only because the nursery manager initially said they don't charge for "half an apple" and then in between they decided they do charge. Imagine what went through a 3-year-old who was refused to have strawberries when all her friends were eating.

I highly recommend Ambourne House. My daughter loves coming here. Due to my child being born a micro preemie she has had some delays in meeting her milestones and the staff at Ambourne have helped my daughter feel confident with her feeding, also they have worked with me and her physiotherapist and OT to assist in her meeting her milestones. The staff have been brilliant, and the nursery has such a lovely homely feel about it too. They care so much for the children, and every day the children do different activities and they encourage outdoor play. They have a lovely big garden for the children to play in. I would not hesitate recommending this nursery to family and friends.
