Very good at communicating
My grandson has learnt so much here.
Thank you so much for your very kind words. If there is anything you would like to discuss, please come and see me any time
My child has been attending Ambourne House Nursery since May 2024. I would highly recommend this nursery to any parents looking for an inclusive, safe nursery with a real sense of community. My child has grown in confidence and knowledge and going to nursery has done wonders for her social development. The team know our family so well and support our child in line with our core values. The opportunities provided through trips and activities with external providers, including weekly forest school are outstanding. What I love most about this nursery is their outside space and the fact that they are not weather adverse so the children play outside all year round.
Thank you so much for your very kind words, I will share with the whole Ambourne team. If there is anything we could do to improve your experience please come and see me
I have had a really good experience with Ambourne House. He absolutely loves it, along with the people who work there - who show great love and care in watching him grow and building great relationships! He has so much fun there, where I can see through updates shown on the app - which is great. He speaks about his friends, what he's done and the workers with great attitude. I can really see what my son is being taught and shown as he will do new things at home and his communication/speech is widening! I will always recommend Ambourne to friends and family!
Thank you so much, it makes us very proud !! I will make sure that all staff and Management see this review
Both our children love Ambourne House. The staff encourage the kids to be independent and confident and teach them useful skills. The gardens are a real highlight, they both love playing with all the toys out there. They offer term time only places which is a real bonus for us and will sometimes take the kids on trips! They aren't a chain which means the staff have a real family feel where they all work together to offer a fun and friendly experience.
A Glowing recommendation !!! Thank you so much. I will share this with the whole team !!
The range of activities provided are varied and I love that they take them on days out to visit different places and bring in people to run things like forest school.
My daughters have learnt so much here and I can honestly say Ambourne House has helped shape them into who they are today.
My children will be very sad when they have to go to school and leave Ambourne House.
Thank you so much for your kind words, it is a pleasure to be part of your little ones journey :)we really love looking after them. i will pass your lovely comment to the whole team. Many thanksThe Ambourne Family
My daughter has been attending Ambourne House Day Nursery since she was around 10 months old, and is now nearly 4 years. My daughter loves coming to Ambourne and has built up strong bonds with staff and her peers. The staff are always offering a range of activities and I have seen my daughter learn and develop so much from this. Ambourne has a lovely outside area which some other nurseries don't have. The staff at Ambourne are so caring and understanding, I always have full confidence that my daughter is being well looked after. My daughter will miss Ambourne house when she starts school this September!
Thank you so much for your kind words and I can't believe she will be going to school soon. It has been a pleasure seeing her growing and developing and we will miss her so much. The Ambourne Family
Lovely nursery, my son has settled in quickly even though he only goes one day a week. Great garden which the children spend lots of time in and very caring staff. Also have events for all the family like a summer bbq which creates a nice community feel.
My little girl has been going to Ambourne House for 4 months. I love that it's a beautiful family setting which helps the children to their own needs. A big thank you to several members of staff in particular for making her feel warm, welcome, and safe. We couldn't have picked a better nursery.
I love that we get pictures of some of the activities that my son does during his week there.
Would definitely recommend this nursery to anyone who is looking!
My little girl has been attending since 10 months old and is now 3. She has loved every minute at Ambourne which has made my working life so much easier! Everyone is super nice and so lovely to my little one, she has had lovely relationships with a member of staff in Toddlers, 2 members of staff in Kindergarten and now starting to develop new relationships with 2 other staff members, all of who she talks about when she comes home! She loves the chef's cooking and eats better at nursery than we do! Always learning and playing with the educational toys! I would recommend this setting to anyone contemplating going back to work as a fellow working mummy!
I couldn’t ask for more. The nursery is amazing and the staff members are incredible. The team does an amazing job with my son. He has lots of fun there. They go on daily trips with the nursery’s school bus, where they explore nature. They have an amazing time and lovely venues.
The nursery’s Montessori approach is what makes them stand out from other local nurseries. We particularly like the fact the children are encouraged to spend time outdoors either in their lovely natural garden or on little trips e.g to the park or to feed the ducks.
The communication from staff is brilliant; they give useful information on what my son has done each day (verbal handover and via Tapestry) as well as regular ‘parents evenings’.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Estelle. We feel extremely lucky to have your son attending here, he is such a happy and clever little boy!! We hope to continue to make his experience at Ambourne full of joy!
From the team at Ambourne.
- Home-cooked food with a varied diet.
- Lovely big gardens.
- Montessori inspired.
- Forest Schools.
- Local trips to the park and duck pond.
What more could you want? I’m certainly glad I trusted my gut!
Very human-face-like and friendly nursery with very original education and activities for children. My daughter has been going there for a year since she was 1 1/2 and is always very passionate to go. Unlike some nurseries I have seen around the area, the staff seem to genuinely enjoy the work which I think is a big reason why the children do so. The children are often led to learn about real life, for example, to plant vegetables, cook, draw, wash hands, behave themselves in a group etc. They play in a garden with real lawn, trees and many toys and attractions are wooden, not plastic. In nurseries I have seen around, they wash children hands with wipes, have a green carpet instead lawn and they tend to have the same things as in an ordinary playground in the yard, so this is not the case in Ambourne House. I appreciate that the keeper of my daughter often spends 1-to-1 time with her and puts an effort to teach her something new which she always seems to surprise me with later.
This was an absolute delight to read Ondrej, thank you so much for your lovely comments. We are so grateful to have your family here with us at Ambourne and hope that we continue to guide your daughter's learning ready for school!
We have seen such a huge effort put in by all the team. Well done to you all for creating such a lovely nursery for the children and families.
Had a horrible experience with this nursery, they refused to give snacks to my daughter when all other kids were having snacks in the nursery, only because the nursery manager initially said they don't charge for "half an apple" and then in between they decided they do charge. Imagine what went through a 3-year-old who was refused to have strawberries when all her friends were eating.
I highly recommend Ambourne House. My daughter loves coming here. Due to my child being born a micro preemie she has had some delays in meeting her milestones and the staff at Ambourne have helped my daughter feel confident with her feeding, also they have worked with me and her physiotherapist and OT to assist in her meeting her milestones. The staff have been brilliant, and the nursery has such a lovely homely feel about it too. They care so much for the children, and every day the children do different activities and they encourage outdoor play. They have a lovely big garden for the children to play in. I would not hesitate recommending this nursery to family and friends.
Excellent nursery. Great proven progress of my child, helpful and supportive as well as happy staff and manager. I will suggest this nursery for your child.
I couldn't have found a more perfect nursery for my son to attend. The nursery has a genuine family feel and they have made us feel so welcome from the very first day. The facilities are outstanding and the activities my son gets to partake in, from painting and baking. Every day they are doing something new which means he is so excited to go in each day. He has been thoroughly supported in his learning and the progress he has made over the time he has been there is truly exceptional. He absolutely loves nursery and has grown so much in confidence over his time there. He is made to feel supported and cared for in all that he does at Ambourne House Day Nursery and I can not thank them enough for the superb start he has had to his education.
Thank you so much D P! It means so much to us to know how happy you are with the care your son is receiving. Providing the very best facilities and staff at Ambourne aid us to give children the best start in life. If there is anything else we can do to improve, please let us know!
Fantastic friendly nursery. Brilliant homely environment. Wonderful outside space that the children have access to and enjoy all year round. Varied activities provided to engage the children. Lovely friendly staff. Both my children love Ambourne House.
Thank you so much for your kind review Sarah! It's been an absolute pleasure having your daughter here with us at Ambourne.

Meet the Team (3)
Hello! I’m Roberta, and I joined the Ambourne House team in September 2019.
As the Nursery Manager and Designated Safeguarding Lead, I am dedicated to ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all the children in our care.
I moved to the UK in 2011 after earning a BSc (Hons) Degree in Education. My journey began in London, where I worked as a nanny for a bilingual family. Later, I moved to Bristol and started working in a nursery preschool, where I developed a deep understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
I have always had a passion for education, and I love to keep learning. To further enhance my skills, I studied the Montessori approach, which beautifully aligns with the national curriculum.
One of the things I love most about my role is spending time in every room of the nursery, building bonds with children of all ages through play and connection. It’s truly rewarding to see their confidence and curiosity grow each day!
Hello! I’m Sarah, and I joined Ambourne House at the beginning of January 2020.
I’ve been working in childcare for over 20 years, and I truly love what I do. Throughout my career, I’ve had the pleasure of taking on roles as both a Room Leader and Deputy Manager, gaining valuable experience along the way.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my 20-year-old daughter. Family time is really important to me!
I’m passionate about creating a warm and nurturing environment for children, and I’m always here to support both families and colleagues at Ambourne House.
Hello! I’m Katie, and I joined Ambourne House in May 2023.
I lead a dedicated and passionate team in our kindergarten and preschool, and I’m proud to be third in charge as well as the Safeguarding Lead for the nursery.
With over 20 years of experience in childcare and education, I specialize in supporting children’s speech and language development. Teaching, nurturing, and caring for children brings me so much joy, and I love watching them grow in confidence and knowledge.
I’m always here to support families and ensure the children feel happy, safe, and valued every day!
