Mama Bear's Day Nursery (Shirehampton), in Bristol, is a converted nineteenth century farmhouse. This is an ideal setting for providing early years learning and quality childcare, because there is a fantastic amount of indoor and outdoor space. A flexible and wide ranging curriculum includes a focus on confidence building, problem solving, motor skills and balance.

Extensive resources and a team that are carefully chosen has allowed the nursery to connect positively with parents. The gardens have recently been redeveloped supporting children to make new discoveries and create their own adventures.

The new flexible sessions and availability of term-time only places have been designed to further support parents in the local community.

This is a fantastic nursery with thanks to the amazing staff that work here, they are friendly and helpful and I always feel they support and listen.
I have always found the flexibility of the days/hours they offer here excellent!
My son loves going to nursery and that makes me feel relaxed and happy
knowing he is happy here :)

We have been very pleased with the care and attention our child has received at this nursery. The staff are fantastic at focussing on individual children's needs and addressing any concerns you may have promptly. We feel confident in sending our child here, knowing he is happy and safe.

Very disappointed by the nursery recently. They are unwilling to help when we need extra hours. Today I have a really bad throat and am not able to cope with the kids at home and asked to send them in early but was turned down and told they could only come in half an hour early because they hadn't prepared
lunch. We have complained in the past that we don't get observations for our daughter and put in a formal complaint, then we got them for a week then they stopped again.

We had our daughter's 1-year-old review with two staff members, one of which was her key worker but both clearly knew our daughter very well.


We covered off all areas of her development that would expect and more. We were given the opportunity to ask any questions.


It clear that the staff really

care about our daughter and that she is being kept constantly stimulated.


The one small criticism we'd raised regarding having more daily observations was immediately addressed and we now get more regular photos of all the fun activities that they're getting up to.

We are so happy with everything about this nursery, but our favourite thing is definitely the staff team.
Ever since my daughter has started at 8 months old, she has been shown so much love and care.
They really know her and recognise each new development.
Every time at drop off we are welcomed by
everyone and they all know my daughter's name.
We are so pleased we found this nursery.
