Mama Bear's Day Nursery (Shirehampton)

He is always happy when we pick him up and always sleeps well after a full day. Don’t think we could have picked a better nursery for our little one!

We’ve been attending Mama Bears with our now 4-year-old for 2 years. The staff are friendly and have built a great relationship with her. She always comes home telling us about the great things she’s done that day and the friends she’s met.

I have gone from a child not wanting to go to nursery to a child asking every day to go! I am and will be forever grateful for the help and understanding of this nursery and I can’t wait to see what happens over the next couple of years well my child has his stay there!

We are very happy with this nursery and will be sending our next child here.

Standards are very high, very clean, so much for the children to do and learn, my daughter before (who went to a child centre previously) wouldn’t leave me, didn’t eat, and wouldn’t eat much at home. Within 3 days of going to Mama Bears my daughter now leaves me with no issues, she eating and exploring different foods with confidence. Speech has come on leaps and bounds, great app to see what your child does, and when changing etc. You're involved in every step, like you are there. The staff are lovely, friendly, warm and welcoming every time. Great with the children. Great feedback at every pick-up on what your child has done. Great for working parents on timings. The staff are amazing I really can not fault them. So hardworking, wish I found them way before. Great facilities for all children's needs (my child needs to burn loads of energy) and there is so much to do, and the place is huge. Loads of different things to do as well as learn, this place is a must! Outstanding. Changed our lives for the better/family life too.

Get updates daily on ParentZone app of my child’s daily activities including their learning progress and their nutrition throughout the day. Have been a few occasions where my child has been refused through concern of illness but has been nothing wrong with them so it has meant having unpaid days off work. Very short notice of staff changes and very little flexibility around wrap around sessions in the evening meaning having to rely on family for collection some weeks. My child has been very happy since she was there at 7 months and has progressed very well with the help, encouragement and supervision from the friendly staff, including encouraging her slower physical development. She has made friends in her group and transitioned well into the bigger room. Location is convenient. Outside space is limited but I feel enough variety to keep my child interested.

The manager and her team run an absolutely fantastic nursery. They are incredibly caring and supportive but also provide our son with challenges and activities to develop his abilities and skills. Whenever there is an issue, they are always dealt with promptly and the staff go above and beyond. We are really pleased with Mama Bear's and would recommend the nursery to others.

My little girl loves her time at nursery and the ladies at Mama Bears are so helpful and lovely. She took a little while to settle in but the staff were really patient with her. It didn't take long for her to get into the swing of things and now she really enjoys herself. The updates on the app are really helpful, especially in terms of sleep/food and I love to see the little snapshots of her activities.

Mama Bear's Shirehampton is an amazing nursary. The staff are very friendly and my daughter adores them. If you're looking for a nursary for your child, I 100% recommend Mama Bear's. You can pick what hours you want your child to attend and staff will help you with the forms if you are not sure.

Massive thanks to the Shirehampton team because everyone there has played a great role in one way or another in making sure that my daughter has the best experience and I'm one very happy mama.

The staff are so friendly and kind. My daughter really enjoys the activities and tells me if she has been painting or drawing. She often sings nursery rhymes on the way home that she must have learnt at Mama Bears. I feel happy that she is well cared for and the provision supports her development.

I think the nursery and staff are brilliant, they are kind, caring and attentive to my child's needs. All 3 of my children have attended Mama Bear's over the years and my eldest is now 15 years old, so I have a lot of experience with this nursery. My daughter comes home every day with something new she has learned. I couldn't be happier with the care they provide.

Great nursery with fantastic staff and kids. Their parent portal is amazing and keeps you up to date with what your child has done that day. The staff are very helpful and friendly, which really helps as a worried parent settling your child in.

Mama Bear's Shirehampton is a great place for little ones to learn and grow, the staff are all lovely, enthusiastic and helpful. My son has attended the setting for 3 years now, he always looks forward to going and has come along leaps and bounds since starting there! Would highly recommend.

Staff are always welcoming and helpful. My son absolutely loves it in Mama Bear's. He always comes home happy and excited to go back. They always ring if any problems just to update you. Amazing nursery.

We really like this nursery. The staff are very friendly and happy to listen to your concerns or questions. It's really great to see my baby is welcomed and liked by the other kids, and I know she enjoys herself. The app is updated daily, and we especially like the amount of outside space. When my baby was struggling to sleep, we worked with our key worker to get her settled, and this week, baby slept for 2-hours at nursery! Unheard of for this child, very pleased. Mama Bears Shire is good value for money, and our keyworker is very approachable.

This is an exceptionally good nursery. They offer great flexibility when choosing your regularly booked hours and almost always accommodate extra sessions too, even at short notice which has been useful as my own work hours vary. All of the team are friendly and approachable and whenever I have had anything I want to talk about in more depth, the manager always finds the time to talk about it. Plus what we have talked about gets acted on immediately. They are also very helpful when it comes to applying for tax-free childcare and the 30 free hours of funding. Regarding money, they don't charge for any extras, food etc. is all included. I get regular updates of my children's progress, through observations on an app and through assessments. Plus every day at pick up I get an update on how my child has been for the day, things they've enjoyed and been doing, how well they've eaten, nappy changes etc and they are very helpful when it comes to toilet training. I'd highly recommend them.

Staff are really friendly, my son enjoys going to nursery and always talks about it at home. Elog is always updated, any information is always available. I would recommend to others.
