My son has been at Mama Bear's Hengrove since he was in the baby room. He absolutely loves it there and has come on significantly thanks to the hard-working staff who seem to genuinely care and are invested in the children they look after. I am sad that my son will be leaving soon as he loves it there
and has a bond with the members of staff there. I believe after attending this wonderful nursery, my son is more than equipped to start primary school.

My daughter has been at Mama Bear's Hengrove since she was in baby room. She loves it there and has come on in leaps and bounds thanks to the hard-working staff who seem to genuinely care and be invested in the children’s learning and having fun.
My younger daughter is also at Mama Bear's and I will
keep her there for her preschool year as well. I feel sad that my eldest will be leaving soon as she loves it and so do I.

The staff are friendly, hard-working and welcoming they are open to hearing parents views. The children are well looked after and my daughter enjoys going to nursery, the staff do all sorts of activities to encourage children learning skills and how to get to the next step in their development. I would
definitely say this is a happy place for all children from all nationalities and all backgrounds and would recommend to all.

Very impressed with this nursery! My son has been going to nursery since he was almost one. What could’ve been a really hard time was made a lot easier by the kindness and professionalism of the nursery staff. He now quite often says 'oh no!' when it’s home time! I get a full run down of his day every
time that is honest and sometimes comical. Thank you Mama Bears Hengrove for looking after my gorgeous boy just as well as I do!

My son would not settle with a childminder but has really taken to the staff and the setting at Mama Bears. There is a friendly and warm atmosphere in the nursery and he staff have really supported him over the years so that his transition from the baby room up to pre-school was smooth and seamless.
Even when there have been the occasional tears on saying 'Goodbye', I have always known that he will be fine and that he is in good hands. Whenever the weather is clear, they always take them out and encourage them to explore the garden area and play with the equipment. The food is excellent and he never seems to leave anything on his plate! The best thing, however, are the regular photos and videos on the learning log which parents receive. It is so reassuring to get a photo or video and some information about what he has been up to and I will treasure these for years to come. Thank you Mama Bears.

My son has been coming to this nursery since August when we moved from another town. The staff were really helpful from the get-go, helping to put my mind at ease, and working hard to settle him in. He loves it there now, and always comes home exhausted from all the activities he’s done! On occasion,
we’ve needed him to go an extra day here and there, and the staff have been really accommodating. Overall a really friendly, well organized nursery.

My son and daughter absolutely love this nursery/preschool so much. Very welcoming, clean and tidy with a homely feel. The staff are very helpful, friendly and always seem to go the extra mile.
They love the excellent choice of meals which cover a wide range of different foods. They've also enjoyed
the special visits to the local church for harvest festival and outings to the local park. They've also experienced a visit from the vets for talks on animals and an exotic fruit tasting session by the local supermarket.


It's lovely to see the daily updates from the nursery app which includes photo's/video's accompanied by a detailed summary. I was always kept informed of special event days which include things like Grandparents stay and play parent evenings, Children in need fundraising and not forgetting the Christmas nativity play. My children have blossomed from language, physical development and social skills.


I wouldn't say it's excellent, I'd say outstanding.......Thank you, Mama Bear's.

Lovely nursery with lovely staff. Just super unorganised! They never remember the dress up days that they have on their calendar and often forget to inform parents of vital things like closure dates, child moving up a class etc.

We display all of our event days on our entrance door as well as emailing a copy to all parents through our planning and observation system - Ey-log. All staff are aware of our event days and are encouraged to dress up and always take part, which make it a fun day for all. Transitions are very important and we ensure that they are dealt with as smoothly as possible, ensuring all children feel settled and comfortable. Parents are given a letter in advance with dates and new key person information of when their child will be transitioning to the next room, along with an all about me booklet to update their routine and any other relevant information.
